I'm heading towards trouble. I need some kind of tablet. Can anyone help please?

GP did a blood test. Said not pre/peri menopausal.
Saw consultant who said menopause can not be diagnosed with blood tests.
She is treating me for something else and has referred me to two other people I need.

Finished period yesterday. The time between is getting shorter and I feel heavier at times. This morning I am feeling pretty bad to be honest. Just want to cry and die tbh.

I have a lot of stress with no support other than DH who can't understand as not me. People who should and could help, won't.

I feel as well as that I do have hormonal stuff going on. I feel like I did when depressed but I know ADs won't help and I react too badly for them to be tried again.

I take starflower oil for breast pain and Angus cactus for PMT. both really work so I think a menopause vitamin type thingy would suit me. Can anyone please advise and hold my hand.

Period is now 12 days late. Had unrelated scan this afternoon. No idea what's going on. Had two neg tests taken just in case.

Awesome- sounds like you are really going through it. If you've had some sort of traumatic disclosure from your husband, is it poss the shock of that has affected your periods?

Mine are all over the place but I'm a bit older than you (49) Meno symptoms come and go with varying degrees of intensity. Currently on first period in almost four months.

I take magnesium ok from boots plus evg prim oil.1000mg. Symptoms seem to be worse if I forget to take it.

I had a scan which revealed two large fibroids but that's quite common and they shrivel away with the rest of one during Meno, apparently.

Having a hypsteriscope (?) to investigate other symptoms - irregular periods - but surely that's normal st my age? Going ahead anyway as May as well get checked out fully.

Suggested random pain/ fullness could be bowel related but am sure it's not.

Sorry to go on about me. I should start my own thread instead.

I agree with the pp...has your recent stress and upset re your dh caused this?
I know during periods of great emotional stress it can send your cycle haywire?
Hope the scan results are ok...I had an US and CT - both normal
My last period was 6 days late but only lasted 2.5 days
Not been taking my menopace or vit D as I've been on so many painkillers and abx and I've not been eating much
I know from my PoV it's hard to feel so awful and ill and not think its something really bad

My period was already late when I had a shock but of course it could have made it even later.

The scan of my pelvis was due to sharp pains I have been having. I also get very bloated - looks very pregnant last week - and much more windy. I've no idea when I'll get the results or if they had something in mind to look for or if it is just a case of seeing all is normal. I had a scan last year as I had symptoms of cervical and ovarian cancer. The sonographer said all looked okay and eventually the results were in and I was fine. (There was a lot of cock ups and luckily by GP is excellent and made them do their jobs.) This time she didn't say all looked okay.

Wordsaremything - stay here if you want but you will get good advice if you start your own thread. There will be people who have not posted on mine that could maybe help you.

Badders - sorry you've been ill. How are you now? I was ill recently (thanks ds1) and I'm still not quite 100%.

I've never been this late before. Well, except when pregnant. It has to be menapausal or stress. I Can Not Be Pregnant.

Stress has had that effect on me in the past
I remember some panicky trips to get pg tests!

DH and I never took any risks. All our pregnancies were planned but we didn't want more kids (well I did but it wasn't safe) so DH had the snip. He's sure I'm not while being fine if I am .

Is there anything I can do to being it on???

I'm really surprised you haven't been offered more. When I went to see the gynae I was offered three possible solutions (HRT via a coil, hysterectomy, to keyhole surgery), I choose to wait and see.
Try not to panic about the radiographer, they could be new and not know how much they need to reassure (or be very uncertain of their abilities yet, so leave it up to a doctor to make sure there is nothing on the scans).
Do not suffer in silence, keep asking for help. Have they done thorough blood tests yet?

Jeez, a new sonogroahers who isn't sure of her job doesn't fill me with confidence.

Giv my period is AWOL if the scan comes back fine and still no period I will be going back to the doctor.

Though a hysterectomy, etc on the basis of some fairly minor menapausal symptoms is over the top. The one blood test I have had has not said I'm pre menapausal so there's nothing to be done according to the doctor. I've only had a diagnosis of something else because another GP referred me for peace of mind and she was sure nothing was wrong. She was wrong as there is but it is separate to why I've had stomach pains for months, bloating and now no period.
