Normally I have nice, light, regular periods. No cramping, no pain or bloating (I know, I've been incredibly fortunate).

This month I am having the period from hell. Very heavy, feel like I've put on 2 stone in as many days, and absolutely horrific cramps that nothing is shifting.

I've spent hours in a steaming hot bath today, and just want to crawl into bed with a big mug of tea and LittleDog to cuddle.

I'm 44.

"my sex drive hasn't hit the bucket yet though i am generally not "ready to go" at the drop of a hat like I used to be due to dryness. Do we dry up ALTOGETHER at some point?"

For you kerry: <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=drought&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1459&bih=670&tbm=isch&tbnid=W8YJXXSklJezqM:&imgrefurl=www.free-extras.com/search/1/drought.htm&docid=-D5av5Wtom-UQM&imgurl=images.pictureshunt.com/pics/d/drought-12418.jpg&w=480&h=516&ei=EwAHT5HwE5CVOvr4uaEB&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=523&vpy=341&dur=104&hovh=233&hovw=217&tx=121&ty=252&sig=113146812327350081433&page=1&tbnh=131&tbnw=121&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:16,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">peri vagina

Grin @ Mardy's peri vagina

CeliaFate · 06/01/2012 15:50

The medical term is VAGINAL ATROPHY! Why don't they just call it "Give up, you withered old crone"?

oldsilver · 06/01/2012 21:50

Grin at the lot of you Grin

At the point of being accused of being hormonal by DP - I do tend to reply, "yeah, and I have no control over it - what's your excuse for being an arsehole ...." That tends to go down not well Grin

Today, I used mouthwash - I tried to spit it out into the bin, not the sink which is right at the side of the bin Hmm

mardy apparently men fair worse than females on that new research - the sample used being civil servants. "thingy" is my favourite word - it always fills the gap alot at the moment. It is why I keep lots and lots and lots of lists ... my brain no longer functions

Helloo old friends and new arrivals, how's tricks?

Managed to get through Christmas and New Year without committing murder (did come perilously close on several occasions though). I'm sooo with you all on the memory thing. Dh said to me the other day that I surprise him sometimes (and he didn't mean it in a good way) with how forgetful I am, but I am very smug and keep reminding him of the wise words of his friend (see one of my earlier posts) and telling him that I'm going through A Very Difficult Time. Not sure how long I can get away with using this as a valid excuse though ...

Crazy, glad you don't have any fibroids in there, and so sorry you didn't get a rabbit cam. Bet you were gutted.

Kerry, Mardy, Vix and everyone else who's sex life is not what it once was, my real-life libido has long since done a runner, but I am having some very pleasant dreams (not, unfortunately, featuring dh as the main event).

I haven't turned vicious yet (well, only at home), but I have been crying at the drop of a hat, gosh I'm so embarrassing. I cried when I picked up the Christmas turkey, I cried when I did a brill job cleaning the shower screen, I cried when the nice lady in John Lewis told me the fan heater I was buying was a good make. Basically, I've spent my time crying.

Anyway, keep well everyone - one day we will come out the other side and look back and laugh.

oldsilver · 06/01/2012 22:36

Hiya Barry ... I cried yesterday on watching a rerun of Concorde coming home/her last landing. It's not like it was the first, second or third time I'd seen it - FFS I was there!!

ProfessorSunny · 07/01/2012 16:26

2boys...my ex always said that about me, whether it was coincidence or not but I've been much nicer since he left so I blame him!

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 07/01/2012 17:44

LOL at weeping because the lady at John Lewis said you were buying a good make of fan heater BS !

I thought I was bad enough - sending off parcels to loved ones at the Post Office always gets me these days Grin

  • Waving goodbye to my parents after a Christmas stay at theirs ...

I'm sure many more trivial things have got me too - DS is always laughing at me if I cry at Tracy Beaker !! - what is it with that show !

BarryStar · 10/01/2012 13:53

Checking in to report on my latest embarrassing behaviour.

I had to ring to make an orthodontic appointment for ds2 this morning. The receptionist wanted to know who his dentist was:

"Um, I think his name is Tom or Terry something" says I.

Deafening silence from the receptionist.

"Shall I ring you back when I've found out the details?" I asked.

"Yes please" says receptionist.

So, off I go, duly find out dentist's name (neither Tom nor Terry of course) and ring back. I give the receptionist the details. She asks me what my phone number is.

"It's 723, no wait, 732, er 724. I can't remember what my phone number is, I'm having such a bad memory day" (cue embarrassed trilling).

"Do you have a mobile number I can take" says patient receptionist.

"Oh yes, I'll just get it for you" (Cos, of course, I don't know it off by heart).

There follows much fumbling and muttering on my part, and finally

"Could you ring back a little later Mrs Barry when you have the necessary information?"

I still haven't rung back Blush. Looking on the bright side, at least I didn't cry. I'm glad to see that I am not alone in the crying oldsilver and Juggling, it's so pathetic!

JugglingWithSnowballs · 10/01/2012 17:39

I've forgotten my phone number before, especially when someone suddenly asks for it when I'm on the phone. I've also forgotten my PIN number several times at the till. Blush

I'm not good with numbers - I don't know many of my friends' or family's phone numbers. ( Very good with apostrophies though don't you all think ? Impressed, huh ? And yes, I am claiming to have more than one friend ! )

crazynanna · 10/01/2012 21:03

I have screamed down the phone when asked to give a phone number "I CAN'T FIND MY MOBILE!!!!" to realise it's in my hand and I am talking into it Blush

JugglingWithSnowballs · 10/01/2012 22:18

Oh, I haven't actually got the hang of mobiles yet ....
It's the menu thing, and the re-charging issue ... it confuses me Blush

< dodders off upstairs to bed >

lettersandcommas · 11/01/2012 10:14

I live in fear of forgetting a word mid sentence.
I'm an interpreter. That would be the end of that...

JugglingWithSnowballs · 11/01/2012 12:05

I was talking with someone at dd's school regarding applying for a place for ds in a year or two. I said as he plays the trumpet we might put him in for a musical .... ummm ... yes, thanks, audition that's the word ! Blush

lettersandcommas · 11/01/2012 12:47

It's all delightful, no?
And now double that - I have the opportunity to fuck up it in two languages.

CointreauVersial · 11/01/2012 13:34

Look on the bright side.

All that forgetfulness means you get more exercise.

Run upstairs......Now what did I come up here for??......run downstairs......Oh yes, I remember now.......run upstairs.......What was it again?.......run downstairs.......(smack forehead).........run upstairs.........Now, where is the damned thing? Oh, I know........run downstairs.......Nope, not here......run upstairs.........

oldsilver · 11/01/2012 19:34

Grin have you been spying on me!! That is my life Grin - it is when I go up to the loo, get sidetracked, come downstairs and wonder what I went up for in the first place - then cough, oh I know now ... Hmm

crazynanna · 11/01/2012 19:45

I turned up to babysit my grandchildren a week early once Hmm

crazynanna · 12/01/2012 14:58

Ok guys....another symptom has appeared Hmm

Usually when just drifting off to sleep,or when asleep and wakes me up.

Like a shiver/tingle all down my body from head to toe. I can literally feel it moving downwards. It makes me grit my teeth. maybe it's post hotflush but usually asleep but don't know.

Anyone had this?

MardyBra · 12/01/2012 15:00

"tingle all down my body from head to toe"

Memories of the rabbit cam?

crazynanna · 12/01/2012 15:05
Shock

Not fair...you know I missed out on that small, small pleasure and had to have the normal one pissed off at injustice

MardyBra · 12/01/2012 15:06

Sorry forgot what had happened. Another peri memory loss moment.
