Hiya folks. I noticed in an old discussion you were trying to get a meet up organised. Did it ever happen? I am new to mumsnet. I have a 19 month old son and would like to chat to local mums. I am based in Edinburgh!! Hope to hear from you soon!!!

So that's 4 (plus kids) confirmed so far: debbiej, Lambchops, Loobie and me. Anyone else?

JanZ · 26/08/2003 10:35

So is the 31st meeting in Edinburgh still on? So far debbiej, Lambchops, Loobie and I (plus respective kids) have said we can make it. Venue to be Agenda, St Johns Road, Corstrorphine. Is there anyone else interested?

Lambchops · 26/08/2003 20:58

Is our meeting still on? I'm still saying yes. Is everyone else still going?

Janeway · 26/08/2003 23:17

Sorry I've been out of touch for a while with travelling and the computer being down and so havn't checked here for a few weeks now - If it's not too late please count me and ds (18months) in.

JanZ · 27/08/2003 09:31

Well that's three that have confirmed (Janeway, Loobie and me, plus kids). Debbiej and Lanbchops - are you still coming along? Anyone else?

Meet at 12, lunch at 12.30ish?

Lambchops · 27/08/2003 11:33

I'm coming!

debbiej · 27/08/2003 20:30

Count me in!! Ds will be staying overnight with MIL, so may come on my own. I take it when we arrive, we'll know each other - we're the ones with the kids!!!!! Is it the main eating place we go to. I can't say I've been in for a while and not sure where the soft play area is. If you see someone looking confused, hungover and with/without little boy, just shout 'Debbie' and I'll know who you all are!!!
See you Sunday!!!

OK then - I'll call Agenda and see about booking for 5 adults, and 8 kids (5 between 3 and 8, needing chairs and 3 under 2, needing high chairs). It wasn't busy last year, so I'm hoping it'll be the same this year.

The bar is at the front of the hotel - we should meet there. There are sofas in the window - if they're free, the first one there should nab them.

The restaurant is through from the bar, with the soft play area beyond the restaurant (ie at the back of the hotel).

Does anyone need more information about where Agenda is?

I'll be getting the train across from Glasgow and then the bus from Haymarket.

If anyone else is still interested in coming along, let us know!

JanZ · 28/08/2003 14:28

That's it booked - I hope you all turn up now! I'm sure I can add more, if others want to come along too!

Just to confirm, it's Agenda Hotel, 92 St John's Road, tel 0131 316 4466, meet at 12, lunch at 12.30(ish). I've made the booking with my own (strange) surname, but I've also told them to put the name "Mumsnet" against the booking. I took the presumption of booking non-smoking - I hope no-one feels too strongly about it, but as we are eating.....!

I checked - they do still have the play area so that should keep the majority of the kids occupied.

Look forward to meeting you all on Sunday.

Lambchops · 28/08/2003 14:47

Thanks Jan. See you there. I have a slightly unusual surname too!

debbiej · 28/08/2003 19:45

Thanks for that Jan, see you all Sunday!

Janeway · 01/09/2003 06:55

Well it was nice seeing you all yesterday, pluss the little ones (and not so little ones) - Hope you all got back safely

JanZ · 01/09/2003 09:01

It was indeed nice to put some faces to the names. I enjoyed the lunch. And I think we are ALL doing a tremendous job at bringing up some beautifully behaved and mannered children - all gorgeous of course! Certainly that "other wee girl" could have learnt something from Lambchop's children!

Ds zonked out on the train on the way home - as I expected.

Sorry you couldn't make it Loobie - maybe bext time!

Lambchops · 02/09/2003 11:27

Thank you, Janz, for organizing the meet-up and your lovely compliment. I thouroughly enjoyed myself and will definitely come to the next meet up. Lovely to see you all and your gorgeous-eyed toddlers!

butterflymum · 05/09/2003 17:06

Glad you all had a lovely time at the meet-up and just a little bit jealous that I couldn't manage - we ended up spending four weeks holiday in various parts of Scotland and travelled home on the 31st!

Just getting round to using the computer again after a busy week. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - although my wee one never slept on the way home. He was so tired by the time bedtime came.
Glad to put some faces to names as you say. As I said on the day, Lambchops your kids are great and certainly looked after my wee one!!!
See you all again soon!!

I really hope I can make the next Scottish meet-up.... I've been a Mumsnetter for nearly a year and haven't met anyone yet.

bobsmum · 25/09/2003 23:10

I'll be in Glasgow (hurrah!) twiddling my thumbs next week Wed-Sun while dh works. Long shot I know, but does anyone fancy meeting up for lunch? I'll be staying at my parents' house in the west end, but will have the car. It's either that or I drown my sorrows in the John Lewis cafe....

maddysmummy · 13/01/2004 20:12

Hello everyone, I'm Trudi a mum from Edinburgh. My baby daughter Madeleine is 20 months old, and she's lots of fun! I nanny 3 days a week for a 2 year old girl Mon-Wed but Thur-Sun I'm a stay at home mum. I have lived in Edinburgh for about 10 years now and I really love it...it's gorgeous and a friendly place. I'm keen to meet up with other mums in Edinburgh so any meetings coming up I'd love to come along!
