All welcome!

The venue is to be the Giants Den in the Team Valley, Gateshead (just off the A1)

Princes Park
Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead, NE11
0191 487 4677

www.thegiantsden.co.uk

Date: To be agreed

Time: 10.30am

Price: Under 1's: 50p, Under 2's: £4.50, Over 2's: £5.90 (if half term), Adults/Children over 12: 25p

I'm going to throw in the idea of going during February half term which I believe is 15th - 20th February.

Ok I think I've waffled on enough; what does everyone think?

Sounds good... though are people able to go inside of term time? Just thinking it'll probably be quite busy during half term.

ButterPie · 22/01/2010 14:27

Count me +2 (2yo and tiny baby) in, kids not in school yet so makes no difference termtime or not to us.

juneybean · 23/01/2010 11:51

Yeah I would prefer term time myself but thought this might encourage more MNers with school aged children to join us

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 23/01/2010 11:59

Okay... well if we do have some MNers who say they would like to come and prefer to go during half term then we will do that, otherwise if it is just going to be the usual suspects, with preschoolers, then term time it is!

juneybean · 25/01/2010 12:36

By looks of things it'll just be a durham meet up! No one wants to play with us!

Bumping

StealthPolarBear · 25/01/2010 16:29

term time fine for me

Indith · 26/01/2010 12:45

Count me in providing I can get dh to work from home so I have the car! That would mean I could give you a lift for once SPB

5inthebed · 26/01/2010 12:47

Term time fine for me. Can't do a Thursday though.

juneybean · 26/01/2010 13:17

I was thinking of maybe a Monday?

OP posts:
BettySwollux · 26/01/2010 13:52

I go to a reading group on monday afternoons, so need to be back at Chester for 12.30.
Otherwise, term time is fine with me, half term ok too, but cant do wednesday mornings.

Does anyone fancy joining our book group?
Very informal, no set books, just chat about our faves (and a bit of man complaining - lol). Creche available.

Let me know if anyone interested and will give more details.

juneybean · 26/01/2010 13:58

Sounds good, Im in a MN circle and I find it so hard to be motivated to read the books, I'd like to be able to talk about books without being pressured into actually reading new ones lol

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 26/01/2010 18:13

I thought I had posted!

I can't do Friday mornings in February.
I could do a Monday.

BettySwollux · 26/01/2010 18:46

Juney, the book group (Reading For Pleasure) is mondays at Bridge Womens Centre From 12.30 til 2.30.
Its an informal drop-in group, so just turn up, but you would need to book a creche place for any mindees you bring.

All welcome (as long as you dont have a willy - girls ONLY!!)

juneybean · 26/01/2010 21:47

Ooo I will check if I'm off and pop along, is it the one in c-le-s centre?

OP posts:
ButterPie · 26/01/2010 21:48

I have my sister visiting the first few days of ht, so i would prefer tt or the end of ht if poss.

I would prefer it not to be a Thursday or Friday PM or a Monday AM as I have things then, but can rearrange if needed.

And I will check out that book group

juneybean · 26/01/2010 21:51

OK I'm going to throw out a few dates;

Monday 8th February
Tuesday 9th February *
Monday 22nd February
Wednesday 3rd March ** much better for me but am easy either way

I realise I'm totally deviating from my plan of a Monday but having looked at my rota I would be childless on the Mondays and would feel a bit of a knob going to a soft play childless haha

OP posts:
juneybean · 26/01/2010 21:52

Ugh bloody posting, that's meant to say the Tuesday and Wednesday are much better for me.

OP posts:
ButterPie · 26/01/2010 22:03

I vote the 9th

juneybean · 26/01/2010 22:08

I'd quite like the 9th as well :D

OP posts:
ButterPie · 26/01/2010 22:09

OMG, how did i not know that bridge centre existed? Where is the reading group held? (it seems to have a few branches)

Laugs · 27/01/2010 08:51

Hi, can I come? I can only do the 9th if it's the morning though...

Ooh and I am in the process of setting up a book group especially for mums/ people with babies - please join! The plan is to meet up in central Newcastle/ Gateshead once a month, babies come too, we drink coffee, talk about books, feel like human beings for an hour or so...

Have to say, BettySwollux, yours sounds fab though! Wish I lived nearer Washington.

ButterPie · 27/01/2010 09:14

Laugs - make sure to keep me updated about your book group.

juneybean · 27/01/2010 11:48

9th on the morning would be best for me too....

10 - 10.30am ish?

BTW just to update on prices it should be £4.00 for those over 1 year old (50p under 1)

OP posts:
5inthebed · 27/01/2010 15:18

Can't do 9th as on a course. Oh well.

BettySwollux · 27/01/2010 19:07

Think I can do all dates.

Book group is in c-l-s behind Morrisons (old co-op).

Hope to see any newbies there.
