January - I really want to go back to Cafe Continental in Durham! Any takers for coffee & cake?

EasilyConfusedIndith · 15/06/2010 12:47

Is it a sign that I am getting old when a retail park holds so much appeal?

Shall we go for 12.30 on the 23rd then at Brewsters?

Any more takers?

BettySwollux · 15/06/2010 14:17

Choca, a lift is no prob, as long as you have car seats that will fit in the back of an old Almera (have all 3 point belts in back) and you dont mind a lift in what amounts to a skip on wheels .

May be easier to get in touch via FB, as not on here as much as Id like. You can add me if you like, search for Andrea Dufton (pic of me wedding dress) and add message so I know its you as I seem to get some strange requests lol.

BouncingTurtle · 15/06/2010 14:33

Indith - I hope your DH doesn't see that post otherwise he'll never let you have the car!

Sounds like we have a plan

BouncingTurtle · 15/06/2010 14:37

I've sent some friends requests!

Someone shoot me!! I desperately need cake next week!

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 17/06/2010 19:57

Don't you hate it there? Though I suppose crap job is better than no job...

Yes cake is desperately needed. I honestly think you should have a look at what I do, it might good for you to get some money in your pocket while you look for another nannying job. I will talk to you about it next week.

juneybean · 17/06/2010 20:25

Yess I want shooting because of the closure making the press haha!! I just wanted it to wind down quietly

OP posts:
Chocaholica · 18/06/2010 07:46

Um, I'm not on facebook (I know. I know.). I will try CATing you Betty - I am subscribed to that. I'll only have the baby so she'll be in her little infant carrier, should fit any car really. But also can easily get the bus, it goes from v near our house and is no distance at all really.

Butterpie, are you coming? It would be good to meet you.

I went to Lakeland on Wednesday. I am fatally attracted to the cake tin in the shape of a giant cupcake case.

Anyone else been to Adventure Valley yet, by the way?

BouncingTurtle · 18/06/2010 07:54

Chocaholica - yes I know that cake tin you mean I was very tempted but -can't-- bake

We did talk about going to that Adventure Valley but we never got it organised.
It does look good, looks like it would be an all dayer as there is a lot there, plus it is not that cheap.

Perhaps we could look at organising that for the next meet up?

BettySwollux · 18/06/2010 13:39

Choca, have emailed you.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 18/06/2010 14:04

Oh juney

SPB and I have both been to Adventure Valley. SPB bought a season ticket, I thought it was ok but not worth the cost so obviously depends on what you want out of things!

Oh and this is copied and pasted form an e-mail I got. If anyone is interested in supporting breastfeeding awareness week there is a picnic going on in Chester Le Street.

The NCT are hosting a picnic in the park at Chester le Street on Sunday 26th June between 11am and 1pm. Please bring your own food and blanket to sit on (and umbrella if it rains!)

You can park in the main car park near the childrens play area and walk to the pavillion/cafe. We will have our picnic on the grass near the cafe. If the car park is full you can park accross the road from the park and use the underpass.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 18/06/2010 14:05

a reminder 23rd June Brewsters at 12.30

juneybean · 18/06/2010 18:23

Will be at Brewsters, have put "dentist" in work diary

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 19/06/2010 20:32

Woohoo Juney! Only 4 more sleeps to go.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/06/2010 08:23

If on the bus, where does it stop? Do you have to go to the Arnison and then walk down?

Chocaholica · 20/06/2010 09:42

Indith, the bus stops right next to Asda Living, and you walk down to the pub. It's no distance. (And if you were going to Lakeland anyway....)

We've got season tickets for Adventure Valley - DD1 loves it. Agree it's expensive - but worth it if you're going to go often.

Anyone going to the breastfeeding picnic?

See you on Wednesday!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/06/2010 09:54

Thanks choca

I'll be at the picnic. Trying to persuade dh too so he can look after the dcs and I can chat Although obviously I'm telling him that he should come to support bf because it is important to show that it is a family affair and not just a bunch of hippy mums.

Chocaholica · 20/06/2010 10:43

Do men ever go to this sort of thing? If so I could persuade DH...

EasilyConfusedIndith · 21/06/2010 13:12

I'm working on it

Joking apart though I do think that things like this should be a whole family affair, it isn't just about us mums.

juneybean · 21/06/2010 20:38

I can't wait for cake!!

OP posts:
Chocaholica · 22/06/2010 10:18

Hi all

Mumsnet went all weird on me this morning, couldn't post! Anyway it seems I can now. Probably me being technically dense.

Just wanted to know how I will recognize you all tomorrow...?! there may well be a few groups of women with toddlers/babies and I don't fancy wandering around the pub cluelessly pushing my pram. How have you managed this before?

Looking forward to it by the way...

Butterpie · 22/06/2010 11:07

...Hi! What's going on?

Butterpie · 22/06/2010 11:10

Chocoholica- my two are 3yo and 7mo.

Adventure Valley is ace- I did an Usborne stall there on Sunday and they have booked me for two more! :D

EasilyConfusedIndith · 22/06/2010 11:16

We are meeting tomorrow at 12.30 at Brewsters at the Arnison Centre. Betty pointed out that it has both cake and soft play

Choca Juney has a posh MN card as she is important and stuff , maybe she can brandish that? Actually since most of us know each other last time we just kept a look out for someone who look as though they were looking for us.

I have a blond 3 year old boy with insanely curly hair and a slightly smaller femaile version.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 22/06/2010 11:18

femaile? I think I have created a new gender. Mind you ds was insisting yesterday that she did have a willy.
