It seems that us Scots aren't that efficient when it comes to organising meet-ups that lots of Mumsnetters turn up to! I, myself have been going to go 5 and only made it to 2 of them! >must do better<

Lets try to organise a Big 'un? Who's up for it???

Somewhere central.... like..... hmmm..... Falkirk?

No, seriously though, Glasgow or Edinburgh would probably be best.

Does the place have an indoor area looks like we will be needing it, good old scottish weather

Toothache · 28/07/2005 16:05

Jamboure - 1.30pm Royal Museum, Edinburgh. Its the cafe in there and I think it's all indoors? Might be wrong coz I've never been. Beansmum posted a link further down the thread.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

jamboure · 29/07/2005 18:34

I was maybe going to leave the twins with dh and just bring declan see what tomorrow brings.

Loobie · 29/07/2005 18:53

For those of you who have never been, there is loads of room for the kids to run about, they have a small cafe and gift shop. There are 2 giant goldfish ponds in the entrance hall, they have different displays, including animals, birds, clothing, communications and more,it is spread over 3 maybe 4 floors. My eldest ds has severe autism and was into everything no-one looked dismissively his way!! There are lifts throughout the museum too for those of us with buggies.Oh and best of all its free admission!!

spots · 29/07/2005 20:52

I would like to come... but the trains aren't running over the Forth bridge. There are buses to plug the gap but the journey takes an hour each way instead of 40 minutes. I will see how DD and I feel when we wake up in the morning on Sunday. If we don't make it I hope you all have a fab time.

Loobie · 29/07/2005 20:58

expatinscotland · 30/07/2005 22:10

I planned to go. But forgot the buses were on strike today. DH had taken the car to get to work.

So I had no way of getting up there . Thanks, Lothian Buses.

jamboure · 30/07/2005 22:17

we should deffo arrange another one maybe it will be more successful.

As i stateed though we eed to be able to identify ourselves, loobie and I were sat ther with the kids looking at everyone like maybe thats some netters nah maybe them.

I was even listening into converstaions to see if anyone mentioned m/n

sat by a woman and even played with her kid dropping into the convo that we were meeting folks and not sure who they were, she must have thought i was some kind of nutter

I was so convinced too that she was there to meet us lol

have a nice day int own toothache, sure there is loads happening now for the begginning of the festival.

Gomez · 01/08/2005 09:19

I was there.......right in the middle of the cafe from 1.30 til about 2.30 with small child and large bowl of soup. Had a nice day in town thou' - went into the Russian Exhibition, then the Gauguin Show at the National Gallery - quick trip to Space NK, Waterstones and 6.00 o'clock train home!

jamboure & loobie are you both slim with long dark hair?

Anyway we can only try again - I presumed it had been cancelled during the week (particularly when Toothache didn't get on the train.....) and I just didn't know because I was offline.

Got such a slating from DH and friends that I had been stood up by 10 woman who hadn't even met me yet!
