It seems that us Scots aren't that efficient when it comes to organising meet-ups that lots of Mumsnetters turn up to! I, myself have been going to go 5 and only made it to 2 of them! >must do better<

Lets try to organise a Big 'un? Who's up for it???

Somewhere central.... like..... hmmm..... Falkirk?

No, seriously though, Glasgow or Edinburgh would probably be best.

hurray this sounds good! If it is nice weather can we go to the meadows for a kickaround picnic thing?

weesaidie · 20/05/2005 20:37

Yeah! I hope it is nice and sunny!

jambo1707 · 20/05/2005 21:29

Would love to meet up also

Work mon - fri though so would be weekends for me too

Keep updating and cant wait to chat while the kids run wild lol

Gomez · 20/05/2005 21:38

Either 30th & 31st July fine for me.

Toothache I'll probably catch the train so we should make sure we catch the same one.

Royal Museum fine for me.

sweetkitty · 20/05/2005 22:49

think Edinburgh might be a tad too far for me but i'll keep you posted

Loobie · 22/05/2005 18:17

sounds good to me too,i prefer edinburgh as i dont really know glasgow and would prefer weekends then i can bring all 3 kids instead of having to rush home for any of them, saturdays are better than sundays as public transport is pants from here on a sunday.
Apart from all that i can do any weekend as we go on holiday tomorrow so no more booked later on,and am happy to go any where kid freindly where they can run around and have fun.

sammac · 22/05/2005 18:29

Over the summer I can do most days apart from the first 2 weeks of July when on holiday. Would prefer Glasgow, but can do Edinburgh if that's the majority vote. Will keep checking in to see.

NinaMonty · 22/05/2005 20:49

Just seen this thread too. I think I can do 30th July too, so hope to see you all then

ja9 · 22/05/2005 21:00

i could probably do those dates....

mcmudda · 23/05/2005 12:16

Ooh - just spotted this! Given my track record of having to back out at the last min I won't say yes or no just yet but I'm definitely interested! No baby just yet - but by the end of July the oldest they'll be is 3/4 weeks? Is that do-able with a toddler too or just taking my life in my hands ?

will watch this thread and let you know...

Toothache · 26/05/2005 09:04

Gomez - Sounds great! I'll CAT you nearer the time.

McMudda - You better come to this one!!!

Sweetkitty - Where will you be living? Is it in Motherwell?

Lets just recap on the arrangements at the moment:

Saturday 30th July
11am
Soupson Cafe, Royal Museum, Edinburgh.

BTW, is that on Princes Street just near Waverley Station?

spots · 26/05/2005 19:03

Toothache, no! It is centre of town tho. Go out back entrance of Waverley, next to Fruitmarket gallery. Over the road and up the steps that smell of wee is quickest way to get onto Bridges but not if you have a buggy. Head right up the bridges until you get to Chambers St. on the right (end of the block once you're over the Royal Mile. The museum is there, on C. St. Sounds miles away but only about 10 mins on foot. You can also get there by going up the Mound and over George 4th Bridge - better with buggies. Get yourself a street map girl!

gscrym · 26/05/2005 20:38

Sorry, won't make it, I'll ne sleeping off my night shift. Hope you have a nice time.

PotPourri · 27/05/2005 22:26

Hi all. I'm moving up to Scotland from London in a few weeks, and would love to come to this. It's kind of hard to plan much as everything is up in the air at the minute. But please count me in for now. Glasgow would suit me better, but Edinburgh is fine too. It'll be lovely to meet up with other Scottish mums.

ja9 · 27/05/2005 23:03

would it be at all possible to make it olater on in the day? sorry to be a pest.. its just that we're coming back from lake district on the sat and i couldnt make it that early....

Gomez · 28/05/2005 22:22

Don't worry Toothache I know the way. Hope to see you all there.

expatinscotland · 28/05/2005 22:23

Count me in! Maybe we'll actually be able to ditch the heavy jackets and wellies by then . . .

Gomez · 28/05/2005 22:24

Ah, easy now Expat. it will only be July after all - perhaps just a light waterproof will do as opposed to the Barbour!

Toothache · 28/05/2005 22:29

Gomez - Excellent!

July in Edinburgh? I'm taking suntan lotion and rehydration salts for the kids!

Ja9... you're such a pest.

Later suits me fine, I'm not too bothered about the time.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 28/05/2005 22:31

i'm fine w/later as well.

Gomez · 28/05/2005 22:34

Aye, whenever.

Toothache · 28/05/2005 22:35

Would 1.30pm suit everyone??

OP posts:
Gomez · 28/05/2005 22:36

Ties in nicely with the trains that does Toothache.

Hows your mum BTW?

expatinscotland · 28/05/2005 22:36

1.30 works for moi.
