It seems that us Scots aren't that efficient when it comes to organising meet-ups that lots of Mumsnetters turn up to! I, myself have been going to go 5 and only made it to 2 of them! >must do better<

Lets try to organise a Big 'un? Who's up for it???

Somewhere central.... like..... hmmm..... Falkirk?

No, seriously though, Glasgow or Edinburgh would probably be best.

Aimsmum - just hate seeing the animals locked-up and scabby looking and the smell etc. etc. Basically just don't like zoos!

Prettybird · 19/05/2005 09:29

Think I can do most weekends over the summer - nothing booked up just yet (although we have still to decide if/waht we are doing for a summer holiday).

Don't mind where it is - Edinburgh or Glasgow. Ds loves trains, so even if it were Edinburgh, I would use the train to get across, as that would be part of the "adventure".

beansmum · 19/05/2005 09:32

It looks like Sat 25th June is free for most people, or the weekend of 30th,31st July.

Have we decided on the botanic gardens? Just remebered that no picnics allowed there but there's a cafe and it would still be nice for the kids to run around. If the weather is like it is today it would be pretty horrible though.

How about the royal museum? good cafe and plenty of fun stuff for kids to look at.

kmumed · 19/05/2005 09:35

We could always have a fall back for a wet day?
25th fine for us.

Toothache · 19/05/2005 09:37

Isn't the Botanics MILES away from Waverley??? Theres no way I could get there with a pram and a toddler.

And Sunday 26th June is out as its Ds's birthday party.

Don't tell me after starting this thread I'm going to be the one that can't go!

30/31st July is fine for me btw.

beansmum · 19/05/2005 09:40

What about sat 25th toothache?

could we go for the royal museum? Less chance of it being ruined by a rainy day and much easier for everyone to get to.

Toothache · 19/05/2005 12:37

Beansmum - No can do. DH's parents are coming up from Liverpool that day to go to Ds's party the next!

beansmum · 19/05/2005 12:51

Looks like it will have to be 30th July then, shall we set a date?

Just an idea, I'm not at all bothered when or where really, but what about

30th July
11am
soupson cafe, the royal museum

Toothache · 19/05/2005 12:52

YEAH! I can do that!!!!
Please please please tell me you all can too!

I'll check my shifts and depending which car I get left with (the one with the least amount of fuel obviously), I might be able to take Toothache, buggy and the littlies through.

kmumed · 19/05/2005 14:08

That sounds great - thanks Beansmum. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Toothache · 19/05/2005 14:11

Gscrym - Aw thanks, that would be fantastic! Might get away with just bringing one of them if DH is off.

expatinscotland · 19/05/2005 14:13

Sounds good to me!

Prettybird · 19/05/2005 16:10

Provided we don't end up booking a holiday around then, it looks good for me too.

sweetkitty · 19/05/2005 16:31

just found this thread as of next weekend I will be officially Scottish again yippee!!!

Edinburgh might be a bit far for me but let me pencil it in if thats ok

gscrym · 19/05/2005 16:51

I can't do the 30th of July as I'm just off nightshift and am getting too old to miss sleep. I can do the 31st if that's any good.

weesaidie · 19/05/2005 17:30

Hey, just found this... I can do the 30th if that is what has been decided??
