Dingle i spoke to the manager of that SN nursery before I moved down here!!!! he is a nice bloke

Dingle · 16/05/2005 16:19

He's not there any more Fio, I think he is based more at Sittingbourne. They had a replacememnt but she has been on MAT leave for a while, came back this week and was amazed by how much dd had grown!

Hermione1 · 16/05/2005 16:19

i am in ashford but have free train travel so can go most places with rail stations, lol.

Fio2 · 16/05/2005 16:23

Dingle, sorry to be nosey, but was that school you looked at in Sittingbourne?

Dingle · 16/05/2005 16:29

No Fio. I haven't been yet, but the SN school I will eventually get around to looking at is in Gillingham. But I am still fairly sure I would like to push for mainstrem. We are a year away yet, so I have other things to worry about first!

Fio2 · 16/05/2005 16:42

are they still being funny about a statement? I would be hesitent if they wont give you a statement If you chose the Sn school is it one that encourages inclusion? The reason i wernt for dd's (although she is more severe than your daughter) is that they give her all the support she needs but are all for inclusion. but the inclusion they get is monitored properly and one to one is given etc, plus they get all the therapy, horseriding, hydro etc. Just sharing, i was a bit aghast they said no statement, bloody kent

ds starts next september too, he will be almost 5 when he starts. Still havent looked at schools for him either, but he insists he wants to go with dd on the bus to hers

Dingle · 16/05/2005 16:47

Sorry to hijack the meet-up thread! The little boy with DS that used to go to SN nursery with dd, has just been accepted for statementing!IF I feel it is right for dd, I will not give up without a fight. I'll raise the blo**y money myself to provide what she needs. Her speech has come on in leaps and bounds since starting mainstream in Jan!!

Fio2 · 16/05/2005 16:51

how wonderful that she is doing so well you really are a good mum and she is doing marvelously, you can tell. i think as a Mum you always 'know' what is best for your child. We were told that if Staffs hadnt have provided a statement for dd, kent would not have i find it awful

Dingle · 16/05/2005 16:59

Thanks Fio!

Anyway, whos's up for a met-up during half term week. I am OK any day, can drive, so I am happy to go with the flow!!

Cadbury · 16/05/2005 19:10

where is the meet up??

Cadbury · 16/05/2005 19:24

Errr, I don't know. I supose I should just name somewhere. Well, if we meet in half term, hopefully the weather might be nice and we could all go for a picnic - maybe the Riverside country park in Gillingham? What do people think. Alternatively, someone could suggest another place with access from train stations. . . . .

Hermione1 · 16/05/2005 19:33

pupuce · 16/05/2005 21:48
