how about the next mumsnet meet up be saturday 26th july.
so as per other brighton thread :

SATURDAY 26TH JULY ANYONE???
i dont go out of my way, and so as to not make this a task of arduous proportions, check your diaries, and make your suggestions.

i dont want to walk into a restaurant having booked early for 10 people to be completely embarrased at only two of us being there i hope you all understand.

i would like to reiterate the dumping of babies and children ( am not really fussed where you dump them) and all you londoners get on a train to brighton

suggestions of a dining venue
am desperate for a curry

Be warned we like to drink lots of wine ( red is preferable)

SO COME BACK WITH PREFERABLE DATE AND VENUE AND YOUR DEFINATE BOOKING.

TA MUCH

lisa

love Thai food - great one in Brighton I know is
'Aom Thong' or something spelt vaguely like that

Dannie · 31/07/2003 21:51

CAM, you're very kind but you haven't seen me for about 4 weeks and I don't think I'm getting any smaller
MABS, thanks for the recommendation. I'll see if I can track it down on Custardo's website so I can get a blast of the cheesy music. Anyone got any thoughts on dates? Do you realise we're coming up to the anniversary of the first lunch we did? (I know this cos it's MIL's birthday)

Tortington · 26/08/2003 20:24

hi dannie hope you are ok. did you get to listen to the cheesy music>?

CAM · 27/08/2003 20:21

Dannie, I'm going to Brighton on Saturday so I'll ask my hairdresser where he recommends for Thai food, shall I? He usually knows these things. Has a date been mooted yet?

CAM · 27/08/2003 20:23

Oh by the way, now I've seen you, yes you're massive (thought that would make you feel good after reading you on the preg thread) but still slimmer than me (and, no, I'm not pg)

Dannie · 16/09/2003 13:20

Sorry everyone, let's get this organised before my brain seizes solid and/or we need a venue offering me hot water & towels. 18 October any good? MABS, there's one in the book called Muang Thai, would that be the one you mean? CAM, did your hairdresser have any suggestions?

Cam · 17/09/2003 09:28

Sorry Dannie I forgot to ask my hairdresser as he was too busy telling me his problems while cutting my hair (isn't that supposed to be the other way round?) but yes to 18 October.

Dannie · 17/09/2003 12:39

Great. Can the rest of you make it?

MABS · 17/09/2003 20:31

Dannie - really sorry but can't 18 oct as that's ds' 3rd birthday. We have afamily party that day and a kiddie one on the Sunday. Not sure that that is the Thai restaurant I meant actually, I'll drive past and check out the name for you.

Gem13 · 17/09/2003 20:47

I promised myself I'd be brave and venture to the next one but it looks as if we'll be moving house that day! I'm busy the weekend before and after too. My life isn't normally so full, I don't know what it is about October!

The restaurant is 'Aum Thong'. Fantastic Thai food. We took a well travelled (rich) American friend there who declared it 'excellent'.

The original and best one is at 60 Western Road (01273 773922) as you leave Brighton and go into Hove. There's another on the seafront by the big hotels (a brasserie - 01273 771110) but DH says it's a bit hotel like.

Dannie · 17/09/2003 21:58

OK, we seem to have a venue, but not a great date. Is 4 October too soon for people? Otherwise, I could be counterintuitive and schedule it for 1 November (my due date), since ds was 14 days late and dd 10.

Dannie · 20/09/2003 19:08

Aw c'mon, if it's just going to be me and CAM we can do fish & chips on the Hastings seafront and save ourselves the trip

MABS · 20/09/2003 19:56

sorry Dannie - didn't see the previous message. Can do 4/5 Oct or 11 Oct if that helps.

Tortington · 21/09/2003 19:44

i have no weekend plans ever i dont think so its fine whenever with me

OP posts:
Cam · 22/09/2003 10:50

Count me in Dannie for 4th or 11th

Gem13 · 22/09/2003 11:50

The 4th is fine for me too but not the 11th.

Dannie · 22/09/2003 13:47

Shall we aim for the 4th then? Any more takers, or are you all saving yourselves for the Christmas do?

MABS · 24/09/2003 11:57

my dd has had an accident , i will have to see how she goes. She's having surgery tomorrow on her face, leg operated on yesterday, so i'll have to make a lst minute decision i'm afraid.

Dannie · 24/09/2003 12:27

Gosh how awful, I do hope she's OK

OMG, Mabs, is she ok? Poor poor you. You must be so worried. All my love to you and your daughter. Please report back on how she is as soon as you have any time. Thinking of you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Cam · 24/09/2003 20:22

Mabs sorry to hear this about your dd - hope she will be alright - it sounds awful - love for now, Cam xxxxxxxxxxx

MABS · 25/09/2003 19:00

Thanks girls, I have 2 mins to myself so i'll elaborate a bit. She fell at school and bounced off another child into a wall. Her knee was split to the bone so they had to give her a GA to stitch taht. Later that nt, a small cut on her cheek caused a massive haemotoma(sp?) and they had to releive that. It then happened twice more over the next 48 hrs, each requiring another op.

That said, she's home now and is remarkably ok. We're back to hospital Fri for leg and then Monday for face. Never a dull moment !!

I really would like to do the lunch, but it'll have to be a fairly last min decision I'm afraid. Bear with me.....
