how about the next mumsnet meet up be saturday 26th july.
so as per other brighton thread :

SATURDAY 26TH JULY ANYONE???
i dont go out of my way, and so as to not make this a task of arduous proportions, check your diaries, and make your suggestions.

i dont want to walk into a restaurant having booked early for 10 people to be completely embarrased at only two of us being there i hope you all understand.

i would like to reiterate the dumping of babies and children ( am not really fussed where you dump them) and all you londoners get on a train to brighton

suggestions of a dining venue
am desperate for a curry

Be warned we like to drink lots of wine ( red is preferable)

SO COME BACK WITH PREFERABLE DATE AND VENUE AND YOUR DEFINATE BOOKING.

TA MUCH

lisa

There is nothing wrong with curry at lunchtime. Lunch is best for travelling, etc.

ScummyMummy · 17/05/2003 16:03

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. Lamb madras, rice, sag bhaji and lashings of cobra beer for me please. Sounds like a lunch or dinner of pure yumminess. Cannae wait.

MABS · 27/05/2003 08:34

Hi Custy, where are we gonna go then ? will it be Brighton or nearer to you ? Sorry this may have been said but ,as we've just put our house on the market, i seem to have lost my mind

BTW i know a couple of good curry places in Hove, but not sure about Brighton. Do you know any CAM, or I could ask around if you like ?

Tortington · 27/05/2003 09:58

any suggestions greatfully received! - was planning brighton ( or hove) - seems easiest for people to get to.

did notice a place on hastings sea front all the curry you can eat for a tennerish on a sunday - but its a bit of an arse ache to get to is hastings

Custy, Hove/Brighton : it's all the same town, sorry city nowadays isn't it. Hastings I do not recommend for curry, only for fish and chips! I suggest you choose a nice one in Hove Custy.

MABS · 27/05/2003 19:04

I can suggest a couple in Hove Custy, but what about people using the trains. Is Hove station ok for people? don't want to complicate anything

Tortington · 27/05/2003 23:43

i can pick peeps up from brighton station - give them a taste of the high life in my old style Astra! - i have fluffy dice

Having done a bit of asking around, these are apparently quite good. Haven't been to them all myself and don't know about opening hours...since children we seem to live in the land of takeaways rather then actually going out

Brighton:
Bombay ,preston st
Taste of India - Kings Rd - by West Pier remains

Hove:
Ganges Brasserie,Church rd
Ashoka,Church Road

hope this helps m'dear.

Tortington · 28/05/2003 11:41

Custy , delighted you're still here after all that s**t last week . Are we still on for 26 July , who's coming and is it lunch or dinner ?

bossykate · 11/06/2003 20:00

i remember a really good meal at the black chapati (i think it's near preston circus? is there such a place? a long time ago!) is it still there?

MABS · 11/06/2003 20:29

Yes BK you're right - at least it was there 6 months ago, and was great . I'll check.

Gem13 · 11/06/2003 20:43

Hello all

May summon up the courage to venture to a Brighton meet up one of these days (last time new mother/new mumsnetter nerves, this time relatives visiting weekend of the 26th), just wanted to say Ashoka is the best Indian in the whole of the South East. I put down a lot of my DS's 9'11 to their stuffed vegetable naans and chicken pathias.

Just my tuppence worth. Hope to join you next time... Gosh, that's scary!

Tortington · 11/06/2003 20:55

its lunch i think and we are still on for july

MABS · 11/06/2003 21:00

Another good suggestion of Ashoka, I also mentioned that restaurant earlier in the thread but was concerned as it's on the Hove border. Do you live in Brighton then Gem?

MABS · 11/06/2003 21:01

Look forward to sharing a bhajee with you then Custy, and have a lovely time in France in the meantime.

Gem13 · 11/06/2003 21:08

A bit east MABS, thought at one point I might have to offer advice to KS but then her DH changed their house moving plans but that's as much as I'm offering here ...

Tortington · 11/06/2003 21:08
