I have realised it probably makes more sense to create a new thread. Otherwise I look as if I don't know that March has come and gone!

So..... anyone?

Of the chicken? I think the can conducts heat so makes sure the chicken is cooked on the inside, and the 'chef' pierces the can (carefully) so that the bird is infused with the taste of beer and garlic...... (If that is what you were asking BIWI)

PS I missed the prep bit as was at home, but was told the chicken did look a bit like the one in Withnail and I.......

My apols to vegetarians

Ah. Yes, that's what I wanted to know!

EyeballsandherSunburntNorks · 29/06/2009 16:28

I was joking about the can! You were serious

PheasantPlucker · 29/06/2009 16:56

Apparently it is a recipe from a recent paper......? It did taste fantastic. Just an odd idea!! (I don't think I will be trying it at home!)

On the culinary front, I have made onion marmalade with some of our allotment onions today

Suits mw

EyeballsandherSunburntNorks · 30/06/2009 10:16

That'd be suits me obv. I'm not planning on bringing and have no need to bring a midwife!

ComeOVeneer · 30/06/2009 10:22

Would love to come and play, unfortunately we head off on holiday the next morning (horrendously early). Another time,

Policy we must live very close to each other. I to am the other side of Surbiton (Thames Ditton)!

EyeballsandherSunburntNorks · 30/06/2009 12:15

Coward You could come and say hello and leave early...

ComeOVeneer · 30/06/2009 12:48

We have to leave home at 3am! I will probably still be packing (or rather repacking after dh complains how many shoes I have packed)in the evening, then about 4 hours sleep!

EyeballsandherSunburntNorks · 30/06/2009 12:53

OK, then pack and maken the family sit in the car while you come to the pub, then get in the car and go!

No offence

Anyway, you're a dentist aren't you or did I make that up? I'd be scared to talk to you

policywonk · 30/06/2009 14:41

Lovely, will put it in the diary.

CoV, not far - my address less salubrious than yours! I'm in H&rsh^m.

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/06/2009 17:31

Great! Sorry you can't come CoV - but are you sure you couldn't sneak in a quick three one?

PheasantPlucker · 30/06/2009 20:17

Will put in diary

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 30/06/2009 21:20

I'll try and make it. Be gentle with me though!

ComeOVeneer · 01/07/2009 07:44

Would love to but I think I will be running around like a healess chicken, and don't fancy a horridly early flight with a hangover. Will try to make the next one though.

I used to be a dentist, but now I make cakes for a living (or at least I make cakes, the "living" part is coming along slowly). Check out piccies on my profile.

PheasantPlucker · 06/07/2009 09:12

BIWI are you able to invite Jura and Marie Celeste?

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 06/07/2009 13:55

I have Jura's e-mail address, but not Marie Celeste's - can you CAT her? If you don't have CAT, I do.

PheasantPlucker · 06/07/2009 14:31

Sorry, I don't have CAT

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 06/07/2009 17:18

OK - I'll CAT Marie Celeste this evening

MarieCeleste · 07/07/2009 11:28

Oh no, we're away that weekend My fault I missed this for being off MN so much!
Thanks for your CAT, BIWI. Have a few drinks on me, and I will try to make the next one. I would like to hear updates on your allotment PP. My courgettes have failed to show, which is a bit unusual for courgettes I believe. But I have strawberries and raspberries .

PheasantPlucker · 07/07/2009 12:49

Our allotment is rocking! We had lots of strawberries (I made jam for the first time ever!) and it looks like there will be loads of raspberries. I made about 10 jars of blackcurrant jam with our currants too - I am heading scarily near the brigade of apronned (is that a word?) women who exhibit at village fairs and get very cross if their produce does not win first prize!!

OP posts:
MarieCeleste · 07/07/2009 15:54

Oh blimey, jam making! Well done, no wonder you look so healthy and energetic - you must be bustin with vitamins.

PheasantPlucker · 07/07/2009 20:03

Er....have you mixed me up with someone else?! I feel like an ancient old bag - 'and me roots need doing'!

Still, being married to SW20's version of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is great!!!!! (Minus piglets/fish from ponds/lambs etc etc etc!)
