Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

icanseethesea is it just a childcare issue? because lots of us are bringing children with us if it is.

littlelamb · 20/03/2009 22:42

Nooooooo it must be a name-inspired badge. So mine would look roughly like this

PhoenixFirefly · 20/03/2009 23:09

lol ok, so mine would be something like this then?

littlelamb · 21/03/2009 09:33

Exactly! But more homemade and tin foily

19fran76 · 21/03/2009 11:25

I applaud the badge prototypes. I have badge envy already . (Disappears in search of tin foil )

homemade? ok...

DrowningInClutter · 21/03/2009 21:41

I'm not sure how I'd do mine on a badge, maybe if I just attach many useless household items to myself or bring a few boxes of junk...

PhoenixFirefly · 21/03/2009 22:28

and what on earth would diedandgonetodevons look like

diedandgonetodevon · 21/03/2009 22:31

I was about to post that query Phoenix. Am really hoping I don't have to wear a name-related badge!

Maybe I should name change to something soft and fluffy for the occasion?

OP posts:
DrowningInClutter · 21/03/2009 22:35

A Devon flag and a coffin maybe? Might look a little strange to anyone who didn't understand...

PhoenixFirefly · 21/03/2009 23:04

lol there are quite a few people coming whose names wouldnt translate at ALL well onto badges... maybe we need a rethink.

dragonbutter · 22/03/2009 09:43

good lord, i'm not sure i should make a badge of my name.
not in front of the children!

but i will expect to be known as dragonbutter not my real name. where's the fun in that!

DrowningInClutter · 22/03/2009 21:17

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it now. DS's aunt is coming to visit and we're all doing a family lunch - rats!

Will keep watching the threads because I'd love to come along if there was another one.

PhoenixFirefly · 22/03/2009 21:39

pmsl dragonbutter, i'm frying my brain imagining how that would look on a badge

drowninginclutter thats a shame, but i'm sure there will be another.

Fennel · 23/03/2009 09:43

I could have painted my face white and dyed my hair green and stuck it into a ponytail sticking up.

Luckily you'll be spared that sight as I can't come.

You could get the first person to stick a sign on the table. Something innocuous. Meeting Point, or similar.

New to Mumsnet, based in Countess Wear so happy with the Quay or Topsham, anybody around for a cuppa latter in the week?

tattifer · 23/03/2009 11:35

just checking, are you booking a table at the pheonix? Sounds like a big enough group to warrant it?

diedandgonetodevon · 23/03/2009 17:09

Hi NK66a39a4bX12033017213
We are meeting up on Sunday at 1.30 at the Phoenix if you would like to join us.

Shall we give everyone until Wednesday to decide if they are coming? Then I will book a table for us.

I could bring some labels with our MN names on if you would like and some pens so you can write your real names on too? (or we could all be like Dragonbutter and insist on our MN name at all times

OP posts:
dragonbutter · 23/03/2009 18:14

we real name is so rubbish.

tattifer · 23/03/2009 19:14

Should we all wear carnations in our lapels (or anywhere else for that matter) ?

PhoenixFirefly · 23/03/2009 23:13

less than a week to go

PhoenixFirefly · 23/03/2009 23:14

diedandgonetodevon wednesday sounds good. when you book a table though, what name are you going to put it under?

diedandgonetodevon · 24/03/2009 12:11

Thought I'd give them my name and contact number but get them to book it as 'Mumsnet' so everyone gets pointed in the right direction...though I wonder if anyone is a bit at mentioning MN in RL.

OP posts:
belcantwait · 24/03/2009 19:06

yay! i am really excited now
