At the last minute I decided to go to Istanbul for a long weekend (can't do it another weekend because of various commitments/events/work etc. in the next couple of months), and I won't be able to make it to the dinner- yet again - ( I am sorry I won't be able to see you all. Hope you have a great one! ) Drink to absent friends...

Oh that's such a shame Turkish - I was really looking forward to seeing you. I'll just have to pull my finger out and phone you to arrange to meet up another time . Have a lovely time in Turkey.
