Hi Kaleigh
I am in Stoke Newington and will be going back to work in West End. Dp works in Kentish Town - so we are looking around Stoke Newington, Highbury way. Unfortunately Barnet would be too far - its really hard trying to find someone

Kayleigh · 07/04/2005 13:35

My childminder was off the council list. She was the 6th one I interviewed as she was last on my list because she didn't have a garden. After 5 interviews I thought I wouldn't be able to go back to work as none of them felt right so I thought I might as well see her. And as soon as I met her I just knew! My ds1 has been with her from 5 months old and he is now almost 7 !

We can have a chat about it at lunch next week.

Janx i know a good childminder in Enfield, but prob out of your way by the sounds of it. The childminders will always give you a reference or two, you can even phone the people to ask what they thought of the minder. I would make some appointments with the childminders, ask them for references if you like them , then shortlist them. Hope that helps

janx · 07/04/2005 21:36

Thanks - I just have to bite the bullet re the lists - have been hoping to find someone through recomendations - but that is not going to happen. I know there are good people out there I just feel a bit wobbly about leaving her!

beachyhead · 11/04/2005 10:19

Oooh, if the weather's good, we might come on the bike ... better make sure I get a practice ride in first, though ... DS2 hasn't gone on a bike yet.

dinosaur · 12/04/2005 11:08

Is it too late to add me + 3, dd 11mths and 2ds aged 13 & 11 as we home ed ?

NotQuiteCockney · 13/04/2005 12:20

A highchair might be good for my DS, too, as he's getting more interested in solids at the moment. (I'd be v. happy to have bigger kids about, DS2 loves them!)

Flossam · 13/04/2005 12:22

Hi there! I'm sorry again, I'm off to see a friend tomorrow as it's her birthday fri. Shame as I'd love to come. Looks like there will be a good lot of you this time. Maybe next time I could come? Have a lovely lunch!

Ladies - sorry to barge in, but I wanted to pick your brains.

I'm expecting #3 and trying to choose a hospital -I live in Islington. I had a horrific experience at UCH with #2, so not going back there, and Royal Free, and the Whit are too far.

Thinking about St.Mary's Paddington - has anyone on this thread delivered there?

Many thanks
