Let's try for a Thursday this time. (Dinosaur am keeping fingers crossed that you can make this one .)

The next city lunch will be at Pizza Pomodoro - very close to Liverpool St Station, 5 minutes walk from Moorgate. Date - Thursday 14th April at 12:30.

Anybody welcome, just post here to confirm.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I am still alive. Still no job but I've only been redundant 2 months and only started really looking for a job two weeks ago.. thought I might come up on the 14th and say hi......

Hi all
I would be interested in lunch - don't know anyone on this thread so I hope that is ok - I live in Stoke Newington, so getting to Liverpool st is easy on the bus - I have a 6 month old who does not like to nap at lunch time, but might fall asleep on the bus!

Kayleigh · 31/03/2005 11:33

Janx, will be lovely to meet you. Does your little one (ds/dd ?) need a highchair ?

Have been talking to sunnyskies on another thread and she might join us too. She won't be able to stay long though, just a quick hello.

Frogs, are you bringing dd with you ? Or are you sneaking out again alone

binkie · 31/03/2005 12:36

This is looking possible!

I want to show off my haircut courtesy of beetroot's brilliant recommendation

vivat, sis, are you around?

dinosaur · 31/03/2005 12:37

I think sis has moved away from the City area now binkie

janx · 31/03/2005 12:54

kayleigh - dd will have had lunch and hopefully will be asleep - do you need to book highchair? If she is awake she won't want to say in her buggy, so highchair might be useful. Where exactly is the resaurant?

Kayleigh · 31/03/2005 13:45

janx, will book a highchair, just in case.

Binkie, oooh can't wait to see the haircut. Will we recognise you ??? Vivat is around as she had lunch with us a couple of months ago, but haven't seen her posting lately.

oh, and pizza pomodoro is here janx. It's on a paved area next to the church.

frogs · 31/03/2005 13:59

Sneaking out alone, Kayleigh, I hope! dd2 is too wriggly to cope with sitting still in a highchair for any length of time.

janx · 31/03/2005 14:08

Will I be the only person who doesn't know anyone? - suddenly come over shy!

binkie · 31/03/2005 14:13

Janx, even if you are the only newbie, don't don't worry - we were all there once. Everyone's incredibly friendly, and it's the opposite of a mums'n'tots, in that whoever's a new face gets specially fussed over. Now I've put you off even more, haven't I?

Kayleigh · 31/03/2005 14:17

janx, you won't be the only new one, as barbarax (any relation ? ) is also a first timer.
But as Binkie says, don't worry - we really are all very nice. And as you have a baby with you no-one will be taking any notice of you - we'll all be cooing over your dd

janx · 31/03/2005 14:28

thanks - feel better now!

Wills · 31/03/2005 15:50

Can you put me down to come as well. Life is starting to feel a little more normal now and it would be fab to come out again.

Kayleigh · 31/03/2005 15:53

Wills, definitely. So glad things are looking up. Will be lovely to see you

I will just be able to run in and say Hi and go - mad woman that I am! no time to eat

GeorgieM · 02/04/2005 09:06

Hi there, I've just joined Mumsnet and saw your message. Recently moved to Wimbledon and been made redundant, so more time on my hands (sort of!) and would love to meet up with some other Mum's. Have got 3 1/2 yr old daughter who loves meeting new children, so was wondering whether we might be able to pop along for lunch and make some new friends? You all sound really friendly, but not sure of the etiquette, don't want to gate crash! Hey ho, if you don't ask, you don't get!!!

Kayleigh · 02/04/2005 11:37

GeorgieM, absolutely no question of gatecrashing. Anyone is welcome. There won't be too many kids at the city lunch as most of us are working but I know there will be one baby and your dd will get loads of attention if it is mostly grown-ups anyway !
Would be great to see you and your dd

OP posts:
Kayleigh · 02/04/2005 11:38

actually I'm lying, just cjecked over the thread and looks like a couple of babies plus another little person, so your dd should have some company !

Thanks so much. Has cheered me up no end. Will be lovely to meet everyone. And as far as I'm concerned, pizza is a major food group! See you on 14th.

janx · 06/04/2005 13:00

Hi
Look forward to meeting you all - on another matter thought I might pick your brains re childminders - does anyone know a good one in north london? - I am going back to work in June and am desperately looking for childcare for three days a week - dd will be 9 months by then. I have council list, but really would prefer a recommendation if possible - thanks
