Heididrink - I'd be delighted to meet upi again at Queen Street. I've volunteered to hold Sunnygirl's hand over to Edinbirgh as wll. Last year you were the "new girl" - so you can vouch that we were a welcoming bunch!

sunnygirl1412 · 04/11/2008 21:32

Sorry not to answer this sooner, prettybird, but it'd be great to go over earlier if that's what people want to do. All I need to know is what time to rock up at Queen Street. I'm assuming we'll be able to get the last train back - I might see if dh will come in and collect me - hmmmm - I've got 'til December 20th to butter him up!

I'm soooo looking forward to meeting everyone.

sunnygirl.

prettybird · 04/11/2008 21:46

I got dh to give me a lift home last year! He did comment on my drunken prattling intelligent discourse on the way home!

sunnygirl1412 · 04/11/2008 21:48

Drunkenprattling intelligent discourse - you and I are a match made in heaven, prettybird!

sunnygirl.

gomez · 04/11/2008 22:04

Christ it is going to a big one......

prettybird · 04/11/2008 22:08

I blame you for my drunkeness slight tipsiness Gomez: you were the one that got me started on the pink Prosecco!

prettybird · 04/11/2008 22:09

Sunnygirl - look forward to sharing said intelligetn discources!

aGalChangedHerName · 04/11/2008 22:10

PB was it not Liath who ordered the Prosecco???

prettybird · 04/11/2008 22:13

It may even have been me as well as Liath at Tigerlily - but I still blame Gomez as she got me started on it at the previous lunch there. That woman is just a baaaaad influence!

gomez · 04/11/2008 22:16

Liath went onto some Champers. I was the original TigerLily pink prosecco culprit - mainly cause I was there early and needed something to so..............

I am debating whether to indulge now or not - but DS is not too well and DH away so probably should not but am well tempted!

But anyhoo PB you never need much arm-twisting really .

aGalChangedHerName · 04/11/2008 22:17

oohh so you are both v v naughty then hmmm?

aGalChangedHerName · 04/11/2008 22:19

Yeah i was just thinking that Gomez lol. Just kidding PB!!

aGalChangedHerName · 04/11/2008 22:20

I am having a G&T Gomez. I started work at 7am,finished at 6.45pm,had 2 parents in for reviews at 7pm and 8pm and didn't get dinner till 9pm so i am rather sozzled

prettybird · 04/11/2008 22:29

Dh was down in London for the day getting feedback on his exams - but we are about to open a bottle of bubbly (a nice South African one which is availalbe in his Christmas case if anyone is interested ) to partake of while watching the American elections

.... no, my arm didn't need much twisting did it! ... must make sure this year to do what we did last year, which is start the evening with a nice greasy poke of chips to line the stomach!

gomez · 04/11/2008 22:32

DS is REALLY not well thou' - think he has been awake for about 2 hours in the last 24 TBH. Temperature sky high. But there is such a nice Rioja winking at me from downstairs......

G&T mmmmmm think I have some cucumber gin in the cupboard too!

Ah, what is an irresponsible mother to do

aGalChangedHerName · 04/11/2008 22:36

Have a couple,go on you know you want to lol.

Nah not really i wouldn't if i was you. Could be horrid if he ends up v ill and you are pissed.

Save yourself for the 20th x

gomez · 04/11/2008 22:39

PB was the feedback good or bad?

gomez · 04/11/2008 22:43

Shit I am so forgetful you would think I already had - am now sipping tea Agalach so the demons have retreated.

However given the rubgy fixtures for the next 3 weeks there is no way I will save myself until the 20th.

prettybird · 04/11/2008 22:45

He already knew his results (bombed the practical, came agonisingly close on the theory) - but going in person to the feedback day was still useful. They were told not to panic in the practical - even if it is difficult, just discuss the wines logically (I think that was the essence of the feedback)

He is confident that in 18 months time he will be ready to sit again and this time pass

prettybird · 04/11/2008 22:47

Are you going to the rugby Gomez? We're thinking of going - but maybe just for the SA game rather than both NZ and SA (the costs do add up!)

aGalChangedHerName · 04/11/2008 22:50

Will be on G&T with Naily on the 20th. No wine for us boo hoo.

Will leave all you lot to enjoy the vino this time.

Am dreading thinking about what to wear (shut up agalch)

gomez · 04/11/2008 22:51

Christ PB these exams are bloody hard are they not?!

Rugby - we have tickets for all 3 (including Canada [why]) but I have got so much Uni work to do not sure which games I will manage. All Blacks looking a bit dodgy this weekend but Springboks more hopeful.

prettybird · 04/11/2008 23:22

I'll let you know if we end up going and where our seats are. We usually "picnic on the back pitches" with my parents and thier friends. It would be nice to meet up with a "younger" corwd!

The exams really are difficult - think about the 5% pass rate when you are struggling through yours! (but then, think of how he's had to practice - and of course, I've had to help him! )

I never got round to booking the package - seem to remember it was a good deal - even though we would never have made the trip up to Aberdeen. At least I then wouldn't have dh humming and haaing about whether we can a) afford it (we can - and he knows it) and b) he can afford the time (perhaps more arguable)

heididrink · 05/11/2008 12:45

Sunnygirl I was the new girl last time.

aGalChangedHerName · 05/11/2008 14:17
