Just wondered if anyone in Wales fancied the idea of a meetup - I know there was one in Bath last year, and I think there's more of us in Wales now - star & bron of course and I think jac34 and I'm sure there's at least a couple of others.
I haven't got any set ideas of where/when/what, just thought I'd dip my toe in the water and see what the interest is.

Well Zippyb, us women always do think of the overdraft. Shame the same can't be said for my DH, he's just gone and joined a Golf Club....so, no chance of getting him to do any over time, from now on.

jac34 · 04/04/2003 16:46

Sorry girls, but I'm not feeling very well at the moment. I've got a realy sore throat, felt c*ap all day yesterday and today.
Will see how I feel when I get up in the morning, but thought I'd let you know incase I don't make it.

emsiewill · 04/04/2003 20:12

2 down 3 to go . Really hope you are well enough to make it tomorrow, jac. Still, good excuse to organise another one sooner rather than later.

Really enjoyed meeting you all. Little bit hungover now, but planning on drinking more wine later (no point in stopping now!). Cerys, hope you got home OK. I had some good news waiting for me (no, my exam isn't cancelled), dh won £60 in the Grand National!! Admittedly he be about £20, but still, £40 up. And it's never too early to introduce your children to betting - they were watching with him, but their horses came nowhere. (Neither did mine)
We must do it again - before the baby, Bron?

Had a great time too, felt a bit sleepy afterwards thuogh.
Hope Cerys didn't end up in Fishguard !!!
Finally managed to get my DS's to sleep, they kept saying it was not bed time, as the sky was light. Thought I'd be asleep before them !!!

Well, Fishguard's lovely on a sunny day

Only kidding, haven't had a chance to log on til now. Got home fine, thanks, though did nod off once or twice!

Arrived home to find DH looking weary - the baby was fine but someone had kidnapped DD1 and replaced her with the toddler from hell.... Today was better, thank goodness.

Yes, it was great to meet you all and I'd like to see you all again sometime soon - perhaps not early July, hey Bron?!

cerys · 06/04/2003 20:43

Forgot to say, emsiewill - best of luck for your exam and I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you!

zippyb · 06/04/2003 21:00

Hi all - sad person here that couldn't make it yesterday! Glad you all had good time & I hope to join in next time - did have a day out today that made up for yesterday. Took DS to see Thomas & friends in Cardiff Arena - went with friends & DH (no work today!) & we all really enjoyed even though it cost a fortune & didn't do our overdraft any good!! Will hopefully be able to see you all next time.

emsiewill · 06/04/2003 22:59

Glad to hear you got home OK cerys, but sorry your toddler had been exchanged! Thanks for your good luck message - been revising on and off all day, but it is just so mindnumbingly boring, I just can't take much more Tomorrow I have the whole day to revise (dds at school / nursery / after-school club until 6), and also Tuesday morning, although that's cutting it a bit fine (Exam is at 2:30).
Oh well, better get back to it. It's amazing what you can find to do when you should be revising - I even cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floor this afternoon!

Doh! caught red handed. I've given up on revising now - if I try to remember anything else about pensions, I think my head will explode. Resigned myself to fate now.

emsiewill · 07/04/2003 21:48

Oh, and thanks by the way

Good luck for this afternoon emsiewill! Have you spring cleaned your entire house now while revising?

You'll be glad to know that the aliens have taken the toddler from hell back (for the time being) and our lovely little girl is back with us. Long may it last!

We set off with my parents to visit my gran in Newport yesterday and the car broke down on the M4, so we all had a ride back in a big tow truck! The mechanic said he'd never put child seats in the back of his truck before, but we managed and the girls seemed to enjoy the adventure! Could see my dad trying not to think what the repair costs will be (it was their car and the clutch had gone)

Who said life was dull?

cerys · 08/04/2003 10:52

oh, and just to make you all smile, I am in work today. Wearing odd shoes. Both black with a small heel, but quite different apart from that. DH couldn't stop laughing when I told him.

Dizzy blonde or hassled mother of 2? You decide!

emsiewill · 08/04/2003 10:57

yes, my whole house is lovely and clean.
You may be asking why am I here now? Well, I need a break
LOL at the shoes, cerys - at least the heels are the same height, so you're not walking funny!
dh is taking me out tonight (a surprise) to celebrate the end of the torture / exam. What a sweety!

OP posts:
cerys · 09/04/2003 10:12

emsiewill - hope the exam went OK and that you had a nice evening out. When will you get the result?

After the odd shoes fiasco, yesterday carried on in the same vein. I spilled water on my keyboard and the space bar stuck, plus I lost useful letters like e, s, a etc! Collected DDs from nursery to find DD1 had been bitten by an older boy while arguing over who was going down the slide first. Feel really sad for her Then I chopped my thumb while trying to make healthy stir fry (knew we should have had chips!) and spent the evening trying not to bleed everywhere, especially not on the baby!

emsiewill · 09/04/2003 19:43

sounds like you had an "interesting" day, cerys. The exam was OK-ish, but I'm not very hopeful. The results don't come out until 6th June, so I'm putting it out of my mind until then. And I've got a trip to Disneyland Paris to look forward to in the mean time!

zippyb · 09/04/2003 20:37

Thanks again emsiewill for the Jungle Book 2 tickets - did send you an e-mail - but just in case you didn't get it thought I'd post here! Thanks again.

jac34 · 09/04/2003 21:07

Emsiewill,
Good luck with the exam results !!!
Cerys,
My boys would have loved the trip home in the tow truck. They were so excited the day their Dad came home in one.
Zippyb,
Hope to see you next time !!

emsiewill · 09/04/2003 23:23

So, shall we try and agree a date for the next one now? Or am I being a bit too enthusiastic (or maybe it's the wine I've drunk)
Sometime towards the end of May? 17th? Zippyb and star we need to meet you, too.
And by the way, zippyb I did get your email - glad to be of assistance. Even if I get no child-free trips to the cinema, at least I can be assured of free ones with the children

OP posts:
jac34 · 10/04/2003 07:41

Sounds alright to me, it's in between the two Bank hols as well, so it would be alright unless someones going away for a few weeks.
I'm not going away till June.
