OK - any ideas about when and where?

Sal22 · 18/06/2008 22:13

I don't really mind about the time, so will go with what suits most of you.

PortAndLemon · 18/06/2008 22:16

Afternoon/lunchtime would be better for me, but I could do morning if that suits most people better. And if we get to hear the bear song as well...

Scampmum · 19/06/2008 09:02

Why not, eh? I have to sing it all the way back from nursery past lots of builders three days a week... don't think I've been in such fine voice since Senior Choir at school . Afternoon will be more relaxed in a way, actually - I can walk DD1 up and down the South Bank until she falls asleep in her buggy and that way will have no time constraints.

Mum2BabyRoo · 19/06/2008 11:00

Well actually if it is afternoon we are looking at I might make it. I have an 11am appointment - not sure how long it will last but I don't think it will be longer than a hour, hour and a half. Will watch this space for what you all decide.

Sal22 · 19/06/2008 12:37

Oh brilliant, M2BR, it would be great to meet you too.

Niceychops · 19/06/2008 14:54

hi everyone

may i come along to this? i have just discovered your post natal thread. baby jasmine born 9 april. just starting to miss adult company!!

PortAndLemon · 19/06/2008 16:59

The more the merrier! Do join our main postnatal thread as well here

VictorianSqualor · 20/06/2008 09:58

PAL, you have to come to Oxford, It's not fair that you all get to go and play in London
I can't do this meet-up but once it's the school holidays I defo will come on one.

VictorianSqualor · 20/06/2008 09:58

Oh and if we arrange one for in the school holidays then scorpio can come too

Scampmum · 23/06/2008 21:42

Let's make a time, shall we? I'm quite excited (and a bit nervous no-one will like me...)

OP posts:
Sal22 · 23/06/2008 22:35

3pm on Wednesday? That way we'll miss the lunch timers. Or any other suggestions?

scorpio1 · 23/06/2008 22:38

ooh yes i will in school hols if you give me about 2/3 weeks notice cos then DH can drive me to you all, and pick me up, and we still at his aunty's in surrey.

I am too used to down here to go into london just me and Mimi....i would be v scared!

Scampmum · 24/06/2008 08:04

2 better for me but I can probably work 3 somehow.

OP posts:
Scampmum · 24/06/2008 08:04

Bless you, Scorpio. We Londoners are a scary breed.

OP posts:
PortAndLemon · 24/06/2008 08:12

2pm sounds good to me; then we should still miss most of the lunchtimers but will all get to go home missing rush hour.

Scorpio, you should be more scared of the idea of your DH trying to drive in Central London... [shudders] [you wouldn't catch me doing it emoticon]

Scampmum · 24/06/2008 08:33

Or you can catch a train in from Guildford since (I think) Waterloo seems to be handy for everyone - much easier, quicker and less shouty in my experience! Although I learnt to drive in Camberwell/Brixton (highest proportion of uninsured drivers/joyriders, my instructor gleefully informed me) so I am fairly hardy - hate driving on motorways/country roads/above 30mph though!

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 24/06/2008 09:28

oh no, i mean we would get the train from Woking, but he would have to come with me because i would just die, lol!!

Then he could drop me (ie walk me) to wherever you are and then pick me up when we are done, lol.

Sal22 · 24/06/2008 10:40

2pm sounds good. I'm quite excited about meeting you all tomorrow. Ah scorpio, wish you could have joined us tomorrow as well.
Maybe you could give us a time in school holidays that would suit you, and then we arrange the next one around that.

sagitta · 24/06/2008 13:05

I hope you all have a great time tomorrow...

Can I make a suggestion for the next one so you can start to think about it? Either the 16th, 17th or 18th of July?

Niceychops · 24/06/2008 13:27

An aside: a friend of a friend is pregnant with her first and plans to go back to work full time when the baby is 3 months. When told this would be pretty challenging she said 'I'm a project manager; I'll just project manage the baby!' I'll be following this one with interest...

Niceychops · 24/06/2008 13:35

sorry, meant to put that on the usual thread not the meetup one

LadyBee · 24/06/2008 14:45

Hi 2pm tomorrow then? And are we meeting at Canteen itself? I'm a bit nervous but more that there I'll be the first one there and everyone will sit somewhere else
We'll be able to tell each other because of the buggies, right?
Niceychops - I'm a project manager (of sorts) too, and all I can say is
Tell her to do a risk assessment of working with clients who are incapable of communicating their brief, but will turn red & scream at you when you get it wrong. She might say she already works with a few like that though

PortAndLemon · 24/06/2008 14:52

I don't have a buggy .

I'll be wearing jeans and will have DD in either a pinky-red Close Baby Carrier or a purplish-blue Solarweave Connecta mei tai style carrier. And I have brown hair in a straight jaw-length bob.

I shall also probably get lost on the way. Where is Canteen exactly in relation to the other stuff on the South Bank.

Scampmum · 24/06/2008 16:28

It's river-side of the bottom of the Festival Hall.

PAL, we will recognise you from your mmmbop days.
