I'm having troubles tracking down any MN'ers in my area (the Local section seems to have been abandonned) so thought I'd try here!

hi i live in Bulford.

kyala · 03/02/2008 18:44

Hello Bethoo, nice to meet you?

I've got 2 LO's DD1 is 2 1/2 and DD2 is 4 months old we don't get out much due to money probs but would love to have an excuse to get out once a week if you fancy it?

I know there's a club that meets in Starbucks but is a bit stupid as it's done upstairs (not very sensible as surely most mum's use pushchairs ) so have never been to that. Where would be best to meet up do you think? I'm hoping to get a few of us together (if there are more than just us 2 on here!) and try and make it a weekly event as I'm sure to be stuck at home for a while with our latest being still so young!

Cod? What for our money woes? Does it have majickal powers?! lol
Afternoons would probably be best for me too, gets lunch out of the way
I'm always too tempted to go into town over lunchtime but end up shocked at the cost [tsk emoticon] lol
DD1 is a bit poorly atm but she should be better by the end of this week so maybe we can get planning for the beginning of next week or something?

sounds good. just hope the weather is better!!
so kyala where abouts in salisbury do you live?

tori32 · 03/02/2008 21:53

Hi all! I live in Blandford so not too far away from Salisbury. I am pg 33wks though and finish for mat leave in 3 wks. I have dd who is 2.1yo as well. I could meet once I finish working.

bethoo · 03/02/2008 21:56

hi Tor are you pads wife? where do you work? that would be good to meet up, i have an 11 month old son and am 5 weeks pregnant though a bit stressed as no symptoms and got mild AF like twinges. i work til 2 so afternoon suits me and also Kayla.

bethoo · 03/02/2008 21:58

Tori - just looked at your profile, your daughter is absolutly gorgeous, what a stunner.

kyala · 04/02/2008 10:22

Welcome to the club Tori, it'd be great to include you once you're on leave. You're LO is gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as miiiiine lol
It would be good to make a weekly/fortnightly meet up but can't think of the best place to go maybe the playhouse? It has a really open cafe area in front-of-house or maybe we coiuld take over the library or we could just take over a coffee place and have our LO's running round and stretching the abilities of the staff (I do that to the Starbucks girl's regularly!)
I don't know, my bwain is mush

bethoo · 04/02/2008 12:52

i am easy and will go with whatever is decided. i can never make my mind up!

tori32 · 04/02/2008 13:23

Hi all, yes I am based with DH at Blandford Camp! I am also ex RAF and worked as a nurse in operating theatres until dd was born. I now CM to earn extra dosh without leaving dd.

I have been nosing at everyones profiles as well! When we meet people are going to think what a gorgeous bunch of children- they are all sweeties!
LOL when you meet me you will probably think my dd was adopted!!!

I can probably do afternoon but dd usually sleeps, so it depends if she will go down earlier as she refuses to sleep in the pushchair. I can give it a go.
If you like we could go to Cool Play, there is a cafe and biggish soft play area and takes about 20 mins from mine in Sturminster Newton but would need a full day.

Is there a pub in Salisbury with a wacky warehouse type place? I don't know it that well.

Fimbo · 04/02/2008 13:28

Cod lives in Salisbury.

kyala · 04/02/2008 14:57

Ah Fimbo now I see lol

Unfortunately I don't have a car (yet, finger's crossed I'll be starting those lessons soon!!) so am a bit stuck when it comes to going anywhere further than Salisbury, I live in Odstock village so it's quite easy for me to get into town though but that's about it

I don't think the pubs here have any type of kids activity areas so that's out of the window too

I suppose once the weather brightens we'll be able to go to the parks.

x

i too cant drive so i too am limited. i would like to check out that place you mentioned though near Blandford Tor as it sounds good, maybe in summer we could meet up there?

tori32 · 05/02/2008 15:58

Don't panic! I have a 7 seater and oodles of car seats!

kyala · 08/02/2008 21:51

Och! We're rubbish at keeping up eh?!

Well, if anyone wants to come round mine at any time next week we could do that! I've got a nice big front room so we can all squeeze in and let the kids go crazy!

My email address is thinkpink90999 at aol dot com and I'll send you the directions/bus details, it's £3 return from town and the buses are every hour here and back so not too bad really, and they have pushchair access (Thanks goodness!) so no worries there!
Let me know and I'll start baking some caaaaaake!! Let me know what cake you like!
xxx

There's a tot's group on in Bodenham on Wednesday morning's if anyone can get there! (I know I should've posted yesterday for more time but forgot ) but it's on every week so if you can get there it is quite nice to be able to have a sit down and let the LO's play on their own.

Anyone know of any other's that are on? I'm going to that one but no other's and it'd be good to get DD2 used to some more noise etc and for DD1 to make more friends!!

Thanks

So, anyone on for this week? I'm out tomorrow morn (tot's group) but apart from that I'm pretty free (and could do with getting out or something, DH's signed off for the week )

OP posts:
bethoo · 13/02/2008 10:48

Kyala-surely if dh is off for the week he would offer to have the kids for at least a day so you can pamper yourself in town??
next week i am free wed afternoon as dogs ot the vets at 11ish so ashould be able ot get into town early pm if that suits??

kyala · 14/02/2008 16:16

Ah now then, pampering myself in towm would take money! And DH is off for the week cos he's ill, last thing I need is to leave the girl's with him and them both getting ill (just in time for him to go back to work and leave me to deal with it!) So, best not lol

Wednesday's aren't too good for me, I take the girl's to tot's group in the morn (fairly early) so they both need a nap when we get back before/after lunch, depending on just how tired DD1 is, sorry
