As I'm up there for the week with DS's in tow and would love to meet some of you.

Would have to be a day time one as I can't rely on my brother to baby-sit too often, so I'll have the DS's with me.........

Would I be allowed to come and play too? Live in Fife but from Edinburgh, honestly

Mother - I know I probably wouldn't for the taxis. But I've no idea what my "final" plans are going to be - and there are old friends who I may visit who may decide on a trip out somewhere in their car......which would mean I'd need them. Plus I may decide to use one of the private taxi firms to pick us up as I'd prefer to know exactly how much I'm paying for the taxi in advance rather than sit and nervously watch the fare slowly rising as we get stuck in the centre of town

And besides - I'm going to pay for DS3 to have a seat on the coach so I can have him in his car seat on the way up - more chance of him sleeping that way and of being more happily entertained with toys - I really don't fancy an 8hr bus journey with a wriggly 8 month old DS sat on my lap LOL.

Cali - I'm sure we could let you come and play too

hmm - thanks for the info MF - may just hop into a black cab with them then and close my eyes until we get to the other end .

re the car seats - thankfully both DS1 and 2 both just have low back booster cushions which they can easily carry........and will carry where necessary . So that will "lighten the load" so to speak........and as for the rest.........I'll do it on a wing and a prayer - pretty much like how I used to travel back home from Edinburgh on the bus/train with FAR too many bags for me to carry.....just stand and look helpless - someone always comes and helps

I know they are - that's why I really excited to be coming up - haven't been up since........ermm August 2000 - I didn't have any children at that point - just a very large bump LOL.

about to go off to bed too, but would 12 be an ok time to meet?

FAQ · 30/01/2008 00:54

12 is fine by me - I have no "plans" set in stone as yet - everything is still in the "might do this/that/the other stage".
