Good Luck!

binklegoestoLondon · 06/01/2008 21:07

Glad you have got Disney sorted Lyra. We are going to Florida Disney in Feb - dh had a couple of free air tickets (some point award or other) so we are off there on 18th. When are you going to Paris?

Have we decided where we are meeting/what time etc yet?

LyraSilvertongue · 06/01/2008 23:04

Are you going in half term? Free plane tickets
Florida was our original plan but it was going to work out too expensive in the Easter hols. We're going to Disney in April but only for 5 days because of DP's work getting in the way.

Berrie · 07/01/2008 07:30

Are you good about not going away in term time then Lyra?

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 08:57

We never go away during term time, not since DS1 started reception. The school really frowns upon it and we don't think it's good for DS1 to miss two weeks of his education. So we just have to pay the extra. Most holidays double (or more) in price in the holidays which is so unfair.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 08:58

That's not to say we never will though if some dream holiday of a lifetime came up or something.
DS1 has never missed a day of school, not even through illness.

Berrie · 07/01/2008 09:25

I don't think we will be so obedient! I suppose it's a bit different for me though.

Berrie · 07/01/2008 09:27

Weighed myself this morning for the first time in ages. Lordy! But I had had breakfast. Nearly a stone over my usual weight

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 09:42

it's not really about being obedient. Tbh I don't care what the school thinks, but we don't want him to miss weeks of school time. We don't think it's fair on him.
Bad news about the weight. I haven't dare weigh myself yet.

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 09:47

Wish me luck. Interview today at 10.30am for the asst manager's job. Feeling a bit sick, but fingers crossed.

Berrie · 07/01/2008 10:09

Good luck Zeb!
When will you know?

Berrie · 07/01/2008 10:11

I'll be thinking of you!

Berrie · 07/01/2008 10:13

I'm loving Ds's new game...dusting. Shame he's not a bit taller!

Berrie · 07/01/2008 10:38

Oooo thinking of you now Zeb....

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 10:52

Oops, all over. It was at 10 not 10.30, which was fine. My boss called me 'sad' when I said I enjoyed a good spreadsheet. Is that a good sign? We'll find out later today. And if they think we're both rubbish, they'll re-advertise
I'm now going to drink coffee and read the paper

Berrie · 07/01/2008 11:02

Let us know won't you?

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 11:17

Oh yes!

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 11:51

Yipeeeeeeee!!!!!

Now I've got my tin helmet on and am hiding under the desk for when the other candidate comes back in.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 12:00

What's all this yeppeeeeeing about? Did ypu get the job?

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 12:02

Yes. The pay rise actually covers my annual childcare costs, so very happy.

Berrie · 07/01/2008 12:08

Hurraaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

Well done Zeb!

Berrie · 07/01/2008 12:09

You'll have to tell yourself off for being on Mumsnet all the time now you are a manager!

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 12:09

Cheers!

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 12:10

I expect you're right. But I'm only an assistant manager, does that count?!

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 12:10
