You could alsways make it compulsary instead!

Berrie · 07/01/2008 12:13

Right...taking Ds to pre school, thank God!

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 13:05

That must be one hell of a pay rise to cover your childcare
Or is childcare really cheap where you are?
Here' you're looking at £250 a week for a day nursery.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 13:05

Duh, that apostrophe should be a comma.

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 13:41

It's a bit cheaper than that, but it's still a stonking rise. But then the starting point wasn't that great!

Berrie · 07/01/2008 13:45

You can get a floor!

Berrie · 07/01/2008 13:45

And send the cow to a fertility clinic.

Berrie · 07/01/2008 13:46

Book a holiday like Lyra and I.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2008 13:50

You can go and see Joseph every weekend.

Zebedeedoodah · 07/01/2008 14:51

Oh, I forgot to say, I now have a floor, it's just that it's now neatly stacked up in one of the barns drying off. The official date for the floor is October. I've got most of my new windows in now, though!

And in my new oh-so-elevated position, don't you think I'll be far too busy to be popping up to London every weekend?

I was also going to spend the money on.....me!

binklegoestoLondon · 07/01/2008 22:34

Well done Zeb, Great news about your job!! I am going to buy you a large drink to say congratulations!

As for dh's 'free' tickets - they come as a result of his spending on his AMEX - not sure how much he had to accrue to get the tickets - they are business class so I'm guessing a lot but he seems happy enough with it - they have to be used by end of Feb so that is where he wanted to go. I'm not so great at flying - was on the valium last time so really not looking forward to that bit.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 00:25

Free business class tickets!!!!???

DP has had a hissy fit this evening over what I've spent on our two holidays so that's all ruined then. He can be such a tight git sometimes..

oggsfrog · 08/01/2008 07:23

Congratulations Zeb sir! That's fantastic news

At risk of sounding like a total pleb... I take it that Business Class is good then ? I thought there was only 'first class' or 'not first class' . Goodness, Binkle, you have a very busy life .

Sorry that dp is being a bit of a stooge Lyra. I'm sure that by thae time you go away he'll be reconciled to it and you'll have a brilliant time

Berrie, symathies on the weight. I daren't even weigh myself. I kknow I'm at least 2.5 stone overweight. I started low carbing last week and went at it with a vengeance... then fell off the wagon BIG stylee . But at the moment I'm thinking what the hell...

oggsfrog · 08/01/2008 07:26

Duh... Lyra, obviously I meant scrooge

How long do you reckon it will take from plane landing to me actually getting out of the airport?

Berrie · 08/01/2008 08:40

Morning Oggs! You still there?

Berrie · 08/01/2008 08:42

My back went yesterday...can just about walk today. Am financially counting on being able to do the supply work I've got arranged this week and Ds and DD are going to playschool this morning if it kills me!

Berrie · 08/01/2008 08:50

Do you want to meet up in the afternoon Oggs or are there things you want to do?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 08:59

Berrie, have you got anything you can take for your back? Mine goes every now and then so I've hoarded a supply of strong drugs.
Oggs you should be out of the airport in no time if you don't check in any luggage. 20 mins tops?
DP is ok about the holidays this morning as I informed him that I booked the cheaper of the two villas we were considering. The more expensive one (my choice) had a big pool, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a dishwasher. His choice has a small pool, two bedrooms, one downstairs bathroom (same as at home) and no dishwasher. So we've saved a grand total of £140 which doesn't seem worth it to me. Sigh.

oggsfrog · 08/01/2008 09:01

Berrie I'd love to meet up in the afternoon. Didn't you have plans for child-free sightseeing though?

oggsfrog · 08/01/2008 09:09

A downsatirs indoor bathroom . I'll think of you of a morning when I'm plonking my derriére on a cold outside toilet seat .
You'll have a fabulous time dahling .

Berrie, just to make you feel better on the weight front, my breakfast has just consisted of christmas leftovers that were probably past their sell by date (I didn't want to know) - two mince pies smothered in Tesco's Finest Brandy, Cognac and Courvoisier (whatever that is) double cream . There was some cream left so I've added it to my coffee

binklegoestoLondon · 08/01/2008 09:17

Lyra, my dh is a bit like yours. He can change on a sixpence from being very extravagant (usually when new gadgetry comes out) to totally tight - when I buy a new pair of shoes for example. Wouldnt mind but they are generally Clarks - we are not talking Jimmy Choos here

Business class exists for those who aren't paying for themselves ie travelling on expenses I think Oggs. It is very nice I have to admit. I have flown once before in the bit with the beds when we went on honeymoon - a special treat - dd had one too - the look of disgust of the fellow passengers when she woke up (and woke all of them) in the night and started crying that her blanket had slipped off her foot stool (the poor lamb ) was something to see. Cant say I blame them tbh. I know what I would be thinking!!

Thing is I really like plane food - although I hate flying I get quite excited about the crappy dinner in the little plastic tray. And the little bun. And chocolate mint for afters. Having it off a nice china plate really spoilt it for me. DH thinks I'm crackers he may be right

Are you resting up today Berrie? Hope your back feels better soon. Can I come out to play in the afternoon as well?

Berrie · 08/01/2008 09:25

Oggs, you are not a child are you?
Binkle of course!

Am due at playschool now but can't find ds's shoe. Am done with crawling round looking for it as am in agony. trouble is have got a parent consultation booked on pick up.
Have only got diclofenac as was breast feeding last time it went...can't sit here any longer...whimper...

Zebedeedoodah · 08/01/2008 09:32

Let me get this straight Berrie, are you saying you actually like airline food?

I'm glad you've all fallen off the wagon, diet-wise. Me too. But as of yesterday I'm back on the 'Zeb's cut out the c**p diet'. Not sure if I'll get rid of the 2 stone excess, but it's a place to start. Oh, and actually go to the gym upstairs at lunchtime.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 09:38

Binkle, I also like the crappy plane food. We've opted out of plane food this time though because it was £48 for four of us which I thought was outrageous. We'll take sandwiches instead.
Oggs, why don't you have an indoor toilet? it must be freezing going outside at this time of year.
Berrie, I've got diclofenac too plus some other sort. They usually work a treat.

binklegoestoLondon · 08/01/2008 09:42

Its me and Lyra who like plane food Zeb. The drier the better for me When I went in the posh bit it was all 'ooh, have some tagliatelle, the sauce is fluid and not spot-welded to the side of the dish and the pasta is perfectly light and not a glutinous sticky lump' . Just wasnt the same I'm not kidding BTW I love over processed mini plane dinners - they are the only reason for flying!
