I'd love to make some real friends & it'd be gr8 4 my ds to hav friends round to play. I'm also training in massage therapy & looking 4 volunteers 4 free massage. You're right Issymum - I've always thought that Guildford has gone a bit too far down the 'chain' route so everything tends to be same old, same old and done quite badly at that! Not that I've actually been out that much in Guildford recently mind!

Oops got distracted by a monutain of work I'm trying to finish off in preparation for tomorrow...where were we..oh yeah...you never did actually tell us where Undershaws actually is???

Catbert · 18/11/2004 19:53

There is a wonderful indian restaurant in Beacon Hill (of all the unlikely places) called Zaffran. It is simply fab!

The new(ish) chinese, the Lotus Oriental on the "Parade" of shops on the Beacon Hill side of the A3 traffic lights does v. good MSG free food, and their Malaysian Satay Lamb is sublime!

And although I have not eaten there, there's a new Thai restaurant on the corner of the A3 lights at Hindhead, which I have heard nothing but good things about! Used to be a very sad looking pizza place.

The Undershaw is a very good value place to eat at I have heard, although not made it there myself! Thinking of going there in a couple of weekends time as PIL visiting, and they are always complaining about the cost of food "up here" now they live in Devon! Honestly!

Catbert · 18/11/2004 19:54

Undershaws is on the A3, just past the lights towards Portsmouth on the LHS...

MilkyWay · 18/11/2004 19:58

Yellow River cafe (ken Hom) is great in CHapel Street Guildford. Very child friendly.

lou33 · 18/11/2004 20:13

merlot · 19/11/2004 09:29

oooh, thanks for all those restaurant recommendations. My tummy is rumbling and I've only just had my breakfast .

We like the Red Lion Food Emporium at Milford. Very Yummy

Does the Beacon Hill Indian do takeaway?

Also, will try Undershaws (bet it will be hard to get a booking - full of Mnetters now! . I used to be a real fan of the Peter Ilic restaurants in my early twenties (he hem... 17 years ago )

alicatsg · 19/11/2004 09:58

I'm certainly on for a meetup

And Lou I am hanging my head in shame. In my defense I was desparately hungover and with friends who require constant attention (bit like toddlers only stroppier). If I do it again slap me.

handbagaddiction · 19/11/2004 10:03

I would be up for getting together - girlie night out would suit me best given that I have to work all day!!

lou33 · 19/11/2004 14:20

I thought you were getting confused because of the amount of blonde 3 year old children in wheelchairs, who lived in the village ali
