Any mums in ESSEX?

Hi Im 25 with a 20 month old daughter and we live in Basildon. I dont know any other mums and really want to start taking my DD to some parent and toddler groups but am very nervous! I also have another baby due in July and would love to chat and possibly meet up with some other mums, I do drive so anywhere in Essex is fine x x

Hi all,
We live in Wandsworth in London but are moving to Brentwood at the end of April. We will miss all our old friends as we will be too far away to see them. Anyway, I am 31 yrs old and have a daughter aged 10 months (also three months pregnant!). We would love to meet other mums and babies in our new area as we will not know anyone!! Are there many places to meet other mums and babies in Brentwood?

Hi Bubbaloo, only 9 weeks to go. It's got quick hasn't it. My brother hand his wife had a little boy at the end of February. He was a hefty 10'3'' - she said it stung a bit . If you need to know about Mother and Toddler Groups in the area let me know. I haven't been to many but know where some are locally in Chadwell Heath. Stay well

yes it would be great to hear about some local mother and baby groups.i dont drive and i know theres one on a thursday morning at the church in east road and i was told theres also another at st.bedes on a tuesday but apart from that would be nice to know of any more,please

Hi Bubbaloo, there's a new one on Somerville Road at the A12 end in St. Chad's Church Hall. It's on a Thursday at 1.15 pm. Haven't been but dd and ds go to the playgroup held in the hall in the mornings. I keep meaning to try the mother and toddler group but ds has a nap around this time. It only started up in November btw. Better go and jump in the shower as we're out tonight. Speak soon

wow that brilliant pinotmum.i was wondering about that hall as i live only about 3 roads away from there so will be able to walk there.also when i go back to work in dec im only going to be working the beginning of the week so thursday is great for me
i know this is going to sound daft but what sort of age babies/toddlers go? is the one in the morning for toddlers only? this is all new to me so i havent got a clue

Hi Bubbaloo, in answer to your question the mothers and toddlers group would be for babies of any age to 4 yo. The mother stays with the child and supervises, chats to other mums, has a cup of tea, that sort of thing. Costs about £1.00 approx and lasts maybe 2 hours. The playgroup (or pre-school as it's actually called) is for children from approx 2.6 yo to 5 yo. The mother leaves the child there for 2.5 hours - session is £5.00. The child should be potty trained though. At 2.6 yo they are allowed 2 mornings a week which can increase when they reach 3 yo. My 2 love the playgroup and I am training to be a Pre-school worker so will probably do my attachment through this play group. Hope that helps you .

I don't know the Pram club but I'll ask some of the mums at the school if they know of it and let you know

Sorry don't know about the pram club in East Rd but will ask around at toddler group and see if anyone knows.There is also a toddlergroup at the Baptist church on the High Rd,opposite Sainsbury's on Wednesday mornings I think.
Bubbaloo,when is your baby due?Just to let you know all the groups have waiting lists ranging from maybe a few weeks to a few months,so maybe put your name down early.

Well DS and I have just been to Playtown in Romford, he has tired himself out and will have a long nap,hopefully!I was speaking to a friend this morning and she mentioned that the Pram club at the church in East Rd is on Thursday morning, she wasn't sure of the time but apparently there is a noticeboard out the front which has details on it.All the best for the next 9 weeks until your LO arrives.

i looked on the notice board and its at 9.30 on a thursday morning.theres also a phone number on the board so i might give them a ring to find out a bit more but i'll probably try there first as i live off havering gardens so it'll be really handy for me.might also try the one in somerville or st.bedes.do you happen to know what day the one at st.bedes is?

Hi bubaloo, St. bede's is a tuesday - they used to do 2 sessions, one at 10 am and one at 1 pm I think. Maybe wrong about the times but definitely tuesday

when i go back to work in december i shall be working on tuesdays so i'll have to give that one a miss which is a shamebut hopefully the thursday ones should keep me busy
