least Celyn didn't whinge and whine. She did scream for 6 hours when she got home though. And has spent today whining so she's free to any home.
She's having her sedation medicine tonight cos I am shattered.

Hello!
Been a member of mn for a little while and didn't know the Bristol thread was here!

Can a swindom mummy join in? I have a ds 3.6 and are 37 weeks with ds2.

ArmadilloDaMan · 14/10/2007 18:54

hello muppetgirl. Feel free.

SOunds like you're having a really bad time atm nmc, with everything you've got going on.

HOws Celyn doing healthwise? IS she still making recovery from her time in hospital?

She's a beautiful little girl.

ArmadilloDaMan · 14/10/2007 18:58

And is Dixie around? I think we all had to rush off and leave her (for assorted reasons). Hope she got back alright.

muppetgirl · 14/10/2007 19:06

ArmadilloDaMan
Yep it's pretty hectic trying to get ready for ds 2's arrival. Ds 1 is so excited - long may that live!

needmorecoffee · 14/10/2007 20:17

She's doing ok, not quite 100% yet but she finsihed the nifi-wotsit drug (blood pressure) this morning so one less drug. She has developed a weird tremour in her right arm. Pity it isn't useful movement.
Hi Muppetgirl. we might fit in another metting before you pop if anyone is up for it. Anyone know anywhere central? I know IKEA has a play area but the few times I've been in there its been hideously busy. Also needs to be on the 689 bus route as its the only wheelchair accessible bus that comes my way!
The museum would be better if busybody lady hadn't been there
And may I venture to suggest that maybe a childfree meeting one evening? Maybea meal out? That sound good to anyone?

OP posts:
DixiePixie · 14/10/2007 23:47

Ooh! Don't get me started on the busybody lady!!! I would have got far more chance to chat to you all if she hadn't kept pouncing on me every spare second that she had!

Lovely to meet you and Celyn nmc - even though it was pretty fleeting.

Armadillo - I got home fine thanks - don't worry - I didn't feel especially 'left' - I had to get home and get things done anyway. It was just a shame we didn't get to chat more.

I'm afraid I can't do child free evening things cos I still do a breastfeed at about 8.30. I've given up trying to fully wean DD - she just won't drink cows milk - and she always wants her evening feed whether she's hungry or not.

I won't kick up a hissy fit if the rest of you want to do an evening though - I'll just come along to the next daytime meet up

ArmadilloDaMan · 15/10/2007 18:42

Hope Celyn keeps improving well.

Yes that museum lady was a little over the top, to say the least.

I am a bit of a prob during days now, cos I started new (permanent) job today. I can do monday and tuesday afternoons, every other wednesday, and weekends.

For evenings I can do any but thursday (dp works late then). Wouldn't mind an evening out tbh - may have chance to chat then

I think it's the opposite to days MaeWest and Crookshank's work which is gonna make it difficult.

From my pov - Ikea is not ideal for me cos ds gets bored so quickly. Somewhere like castaways would be much better.

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 15/10/2007 20:38

I can do evening meet ups providing DH is not working night shifts and can babysit...as for days, I can do Thurs, Fridays and weekends....

Ooooh I know!! What we could do is set up or find a coffee morning for Bristol mumsnetters and we have a hall or something then we can all meet up with space for the DC's to run riot and even bake a cake if in Nigella Domestic Goddess mode...what do you guys think???

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 15/10/2007 20:39

Bake a cake to bring that is..not to make there...that would truly be hard work!!!

needmorecoffee · 19/10/2007 17:51

Anyone fancy another meetup? I'd be happy to host one as I've met most of you and know you aren't axe-murderers. Got lots of toys. DD loves seeing other kids. Maybe we could bring food and do a lunch?
I'm in Staple Hill so on every bus route known to man including the ones from Bath.

OP posts:
needmorecoffee · 19/10/2007 17:52

and Crookshanks could bake a cake like wot she keeps promising hint hint hint
We stopped for a cake in the museum today (boys wanted to see the Egypt thingy) and that woman was still there policing the play area!

Could we be starting the first Mumnset coffee morning??!!

NeedmoreCoffee - I had the car this week and was going to text you to ask if could pop over but DS has a disgusting cough and keeps throwing up and now I've got what the dr called pharyngitis..think that's just ponce talk for a sore throat but sounds impressive and gives me a good excuse to lounge

Am free next Thurs though...not sure if will have time to bake a cake..I work Mon -Wed....am not that much of a domestic Goddess

MaeWhooooohest · 19/10/2007 19:21

I usually work Tues & Thurs at the moment, so won't be able to join in if you do next Thurs . Anywhere on a bus route if there's cake involved, we're there (unfortunately DS has now worked out that cake is tasty and how to wrestle it out of my hand, bloody BLW!).

I would definitely be up for an evening meet-up, usually do a bf at around 6.30 so can slip out of the house by 7ish.

Hi folks

Pretty sure I'm free on Thursday. The hall sounds good. I'm in Kingswood, so previous suggestions of Castaways (fab for me as 5 minutes' walk! ) or Staple Hill would also suit me. It'd be lovely to see people and actually get to talk this time!

The mythical cake would be lovely too!

needmorecoffee · 20/10/2007 16:31

Cotham is a 2 bus journey so would be too hard for me with dd in her wheelchair. There's only one accessible bus and it goes to Broadmead and by Colston Hall.
Those who can do next Thurs, would y'all like to come over?

Hiya

I've got the car tomorrow which is good, but won't say aye or nay yet as going to the Doctors later this afternoon about this bug and want to see what they say - do not want to put your DD at risk. I don't think I'm infectious anymore - its more the constant feeling sick I'm fed up with (no am not PG!!) and want it sorted. I wonder if its my Menieres disease?? (fluid in ear type thing)....

Mmmmm

needmorecoffee · 24/10/2007 17:04

well, let me know. Phone is turned off while charging so best to stick it on here.
Anyone else?
Have decided against cake and am making organic vegan cheesecake :-)
