Petesmum - why don't you come along to the "Solihull" meetup on the 3rd November anyway? Even it's called "Solihull" this one is going to be at Coleshill, so not too bad for you to get to methinks.

Anyone else want to say yay or nay to the 3rd at the Bear? We'll need to book soon, so we need to come up with some arrangements for deposits etc. Jampot - do you want to do this, as you started the thread rolling, or do you want me to? (I wasn't trying to take over - honest - just as the opportunity to check places out was there it seemed logical to do it.)

LunarSea - thanks for thinking of me and you're right Coleshill isn't too far from home. The problem is I work full time in Nottingham so I can't make the Wed 3rd Nov

hi can give my despoite at the nov meet up, can others ring up the place and place a despoit over the phone under the booking maybe?

Chriz - I think we'll need to get deposits before then to reserve the places, and of course we won't actually see everyone before the night.

So....

I've set up an email address - Midlands_Xmas AT leave-this-bit-and-its-dot-out DOT mail2uk DOT com (which hopefully makes sense), so can those of you who definately want to come email to that address and I'll get back to you with details of where to send cheques to. I'll go up to the Bear tonight and book for however many I know for certain are coming by then (so please do stick to it as I'll have to pay the deposits!) and see if we can arrange to keep adding people as long as they have space left.

Well im coming back into Solihull (2 mins from Town centre) so we could share taxi back. Loads of hotels in Solihull. Would offer but live in a shoebox

Ok all - it's booked! 3rd December, 8pm at the Bear. Sorry to those who can't do that night - but I think there would be some whichever date we settled on.

HOWEVER... I do need deposits (£10 each) by next Thursday to confirm the booking. We may be able to add extras on later, if they still have spaces, but no guarantees.

Lavendar - the place is quite easy to get to from Cambridge (up the A14, onto the M6, then M42, and off at J6) - it should take not much more than an hour and half I should think. I linked to a hotel in Balsall Common earlier in the thread for someone else, and as I will just about go past that on the way to/from I could do lifts from there, as long as there aren't too many to fit into the car.

I will probably be getting there by public transport (as RB is unlikely to make it) and would stay overnight.

I will need to check with DP when his works do is, but I thinks 3rd Dec should be alright.
