Sorry for hijack ladies........

kitty17 · 09/10/2007 17:11

agalch - That would be good if you could get a price, (will have to see who else wants to come with us) south would be best for us, but the last train home is quite early back in Lston at 23.11, where as the north is 23.43, at least if we get a taxi we can leave edinburgh 12.30/1ish (if thats ok with everyone, earlier if preferred)

Not sure what time to meet, think the meal is 7.30, are we meeting at the restaurant or somewhere else beforehand?.

prettybird · 09/10/2007 17:33

Gomez - happy to help. But in return, dh does want you to regiter - he needs the numbers!

Why not regirster and then post your opnion on the pinotage you get?

Dh says he's enjoyed the WInes of SOuth Africa tasting he was at today - I'll get the full low-down when he gets in late tongiht (late Easyjet flight up).

ladies - the numbers are growing - do we still want to go to Bar Napoli (we cant sit there all night and chat - will have to move on - which means the group will probably get broken up - uyswim)

i thought maybe a 'party night' at say, Murrayfield, or posher, say, the Roxburghe, we would have a nice meal and there would be dancing, we could speak to each other easier, have same table all night blah blah etc etc

any thoughts?

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 09:23

greebos ive emailed uyou

OP posts:
bobsmum · 10/10/2007 09:25

Wow there really are a lot of us now

When does Bar Napoli close? Is it just a restaurant rather than a bar?

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 09:28

yes its just a restaurant
it closes at 1am but i dont think theyd be happy if we stayed there all night - not usre tho

OP posts:
nailpolish · 10/10/2007 09:30

murrayfield

ive been to one at murrayfield before -it was very good. mind you, at the next table was Tollcross fire station blue watch - and i was young free and single at the time

OP posts:
bobsmum · 10/10/2007 09:31

mmm firemen......

bobsmum · 10/10/2007 09:33

That looks like a good deal to me - plus a free place is we get over 20 people.

Is there a station nearby? (Edinburgh virgin)

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 09:33

roxburgh are having champagne ceilidhs! quick Gomez look!

OP posts:
nailpolish · 10/10/2007 09:34

haymarket station is close to murrayfield

OP posts:
spookykitty · 10/10/2007 09:39

I would come along but I don't know about trains etc and I'm too scared to drive into Edinburgh.

Put me down as a possible

GreebosWhiskers · 10/10/2007 09:39

Murrayfield looks good to me. The price is £32 (says £30 on the list but if you go to more info it says £32) which is pretty reasonable. I checked availability & it appears they have enough places available for the 15th Dec.

Murrayfield's close to Haymarket station isn't it?

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 09:47

£32 is very good value

OP posts:
gomez · 10/10/2007 11:08

Mmmm champagne is good.....

Party Nights fill me with fear and terror - but I am more than happy to go with the flow. Think is probably a good idea TBH as if we need to move onto a bar after dinner in Edinburgh week before Christmas diaster is likey to ensue - i.e. lose half the group, never find a seat and more importantly have to wait days to get served more booz .

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 11:18

i agree gomez, but i feel in the mood to do anything for a quiet/easy life.

shall i phone murrayfield? roxburghe?

vote please ladies

OP posts:
gomez · 10/10/2007 11:19

Murrayfield cheaper so probably better bet I would think?

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 11:20

yes i suppose so

Why weary? Are you hacked of with the whole thing? Or is it the agado/dancing queen/glitter ball night ahead all too much excitment for you??

nailpolish · 10/10/2007 11:29

i would rather go to the Roxburghe tbh!
but i know murrayfield is the more sensible choice

also im a bit worried about booking and people backing out last minute

I agree. I also think the numbers worry is a fair one - I really doubt we will get 20 turfing up TBH. Somewhere between 10 and 15 is more likely.

I REALLY want to go back to Tigerlily and drink gallons more Proseco TBH - but hey .
