Nailpolish - go to TheWineSchool, register and ask for advice there. Dh will be happy to advise - but he's wanting to encourage people to go to his web site It's still inthe early stages of being set up, so the more people who log on the better!

He'll advise on where you can source good wines in Edinburgh too!

nailpolish · 05/10/2007 16:26

is that dh's website?

OP posts:
prettybird · 05/10/2007 23:46

Yes it is

We're just back from doing a tasting for our local rugby club's supper night - it went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy it

prettybird · 06/10/2007 21:21

Gomez - go and look at the thewineschool site now - you'll see an answer to your question about a wine recommendation. On this occasion, as a special fovour to me, dh has made it a public reply, but you'll need to register though if you want to ask anything else or if you need any further clarification.

(sorry for the thread hi-jack )

Thanks a lot for th eoffer prettybird - I have loads of family in Glasgow ( Im originally an East Ender) so wouldnt have a problem there I would just rather come home if possible - i think if i were to tell the rellies that i was going ro a night out in Edinburgh with people from an internet forum they'd think i was mad! They already roll their eyes when I mention mumsnet. lol

hellnats · 07/10/2007 22:17

I knew mears was in Ayrshire - she was working when I had dd2. Would love to meet her though - she saw me but i was about to pop so never quite noticed her

agalch · 08/10/2007 07:30

Hi Kitty17 that sounds great.
AFAIK ProjectIcarus is going too so we could all go together?

Hellnats i get the same looks when i mention MN(don't mention it often tbh). My mum is slightly worried, she thinks something awful will happen

kitty17 · 08/10/2007 16:45

thats great....

bobsmum · 08/10/2007 16:52

Will anyone be getting the train home from Edinburgh to Queen Street?

I'm sorting out the fine details atm and I'll probably stay with my parents in Glasgow and leave from there. But dh is concerned about me getting the train home

I'll not be drinking due to no3 on the way

prettybird · 08/10/2007 16:54

I will be - and so will weeonion, harrisey and I think a few others.

louii · 08/10/2007 16:56

For the Fife folks, the last train home from Edinburgh is grand, really busy but never been any probs when I have been on it.

bobsmum · 08/10/2007 17:05

Thanks PB

kitty17 · 08/10/2007 17:19

FOR LIVINGSTONE FOLKS....have checked train times...

Depart Edin Waverly 22:40
Arrive L'ston South 23:11 Last Train

Depart Edin Waverly 22.18 or 22.43
Arrive L'ston North 23.18 or 23.43Last Train

Not sure what Station is best for eveyone. Im closer to South than North, but can get Taxi from North home, just depends on what time eveyone wants to head home???.
or
as an alternative we book a Livi taxi to collect us, last time i went out in edinburgh it cost us £25 to get home, so if there is a few of us might work out as the same as the train ....
What are your thoughts......depends on where every one is though.....
Im Murieston

agalch · 08/10/2007 18:25

I am in Eliburn Kitty and i am happy to get a taxi or train. Am i nearest North or South? doh!!!

agalch · 08/10/2007 18:29

Just a thought,my DH has a friend who has his own taxi.I could get a price if anyone wants me to?

What time are we meeting? Just thinking that by the time we have had food/drinks it'll be rubbish if we have to get a train when it's all getting good?

I am happy to come home whenever everyone else wants to go home tho.

Lilliput · 09/10/2007 07:06

Is there an Edinburgh mumsnetter who can put me up for the night? I know it's a bit cheeky to ask but there is no train home for me and I would rather not have to drive 50 miles home plus it would be good to have a glass of wine or two. I promise I'm not a weirdo .

prettybird · 09/10/2007 09:50

I'll vouch that she is really nice!

Redtartanlass was also muttering about coming.

I think Mawbroon know her - if Redtartanlass doesn't come on to Mumsnet regualrly, do you know if she is still thinking of coming Mawbroon?
