go for it, then it's done and by the beginning of Dec we'll have another count up. What shall we do if they ask for a deposit?

weeonion · 03/10/2007 19:36

nailpolish - i agree that it should be booked. it will be getting too close very soon and all the office parties will be getting their nights sorted. if a deposit is required - i doubtthey will take individual ones so i guess we will need a brave volunteer to cover it and then everyone sends cheques or paypals v v v soon??

nailpolish · 04/10/2007 09:10

i dont think they will ask for a deposit - ill do it this afternoon

if they do i doubt ill be able to pay it seriously broke this month

Is anyone from Fife going? I'd love to go but wouldn't fancy going home on the last train by myself.

nailpolish · 04/10/2007 09:21

mrsSpoon is from fife - i havent heard from her - she might come

OP posts:
prettybird · 04/10/2007 10:04

Nailpolish - if they need a deposit, get in touch with me and I'll cover it. If you've still got my e-mail, use the first part of it (ie my first name.last name) @tiscali.co.uk. I'm still not back at work, so don't want to have to log in to my work e-mail account.

Let me know on here though, as I tend not to use my tiscali account.

geordiemacminx · 04/10/2007 10:40

lazyemma lives in fife, she said she would like to come, I'll point her in this direction

gomez · 04/10/2007 22:15

Woah - well done Nailpolish.

Might see you before then thou'......

hellnats · 04/10/2007 23:40

No one from Ayrshire? I know there is - surely some1 wants to go along too. I really want to come but dont fancy coming on the train on my own.

prettybird · 05/10/2007 00:19

There are one or two Scottish mumsnetters who are in Ayrshire - buit I'm not sure if they've been on recently.

Mears and Tissy are both in Ayrshire, but they never come to meet-ups: ashame 'cos I'd love to meet them

I know you don't know me, but others can vouch that I'm not a hairy trucker - but if you needed a bed in Glasgow, rather than going on to Ayrshire, you could stay in our spare bedroom.

You'd have had all evening to get to know me!

Try doing a search on Ayrshire and seeing if there are any names you recognise.

gomez · 05/10/2007 00:22

Hellnats don't believe Prettybird he, oops she is most definately of the hairy handed trucker variety.

Scrubs up well but still dodgy.....

[Only kidding she is lovely and would I am sure make you very welcome.]

prettybird · 05/10/2007 00:52

Oi gomez - what are you doing up so late - working on an essay are you?

My excuse is that I'm keeping dh company while he puts "supplied by" labels on to bottles of wines he using tomorrow for a wine tasting.

We're watching the Pop Hits of 1986 and feeling old

geordiemacmummy · 05/10/2007 08:10

DONT STAY WITH PRETTYBIRD....I seem to recall she has a VERY scarey dog...

geordiemacmummy · 05/10/2007 08:15

Ooops Apologies Prettybird wrong MNer, Its Maddog who has the scary do (clue was in the name really wasnt it??)

Although I seem to recall she lives down Ayrshire way?

nailpolish · 05/10/2007 09:16

oh prettybird i am thinking of organising a wine tasting to raise funds for school PTA - where do i start?

OP posts:
gomez · 05/10/2007 12:19

Nailly - I am sure PB's DH will be able to provide you with lots of help for an upmarket wine tasting. BUT a few years ago we arranged one to fund raise and used Oddbins on George Street. They do the lot for you - wine's/glasses/tasting info. Was much fun.

Sorry PB - not trying to sabotage your DH at all. Have had a wee look at this web site too - looks like it will be v. good. How are you doing? I was studying by the way - 'ti bloody hard work this being a student lark. Thank Christ DH is home tomorrow!

nailpolish · 05/10/2007 12:29

there is a lovely Oddbins in corstorphine - might ask there, thanks gomez
hows uiversity going?

OP posts:
gomez · 05/10/2007 12:32

Is going well Nailly but I am having to work hard - in the style of a keen more mature student, i.e. I am the only one preparing for tutorials.

I am jealous of all those whipper snappers with their hangovers. DH did say it wouldn't be as much fun second time around.

nailpolish · 05/10/2007 12:34

good for you gomez
you will be needing a good night out by december
i have been eyeing up the mini bottles of wine already in prep for our easyjet travels
