GreebosWhiskers · 21/10/2007 23:23

Oooo - did things get a little heated during the rugby?

I missed it 'cos dh was watching the repeat of the old firm match & I hate watching them play so I took myself & my crochet to bed

It would be nice to see you at the xmas do caffersg - I have 3 dds aged 14, 13 & 2.7 & a ds aged 11 months & am looking forward to having a whole evening without parenting duties

caffersg · 21/10/2007 23:30

to be honest i los interest after 3 large glasses of red wine. My first day out without my little 1 and was a little worse for wear for it. Watched the old firm too as the other half is mad on footie Dare i say which team? When is this night out?

prettybird · 21/10/2007 23:41

Saturday 15th December, the Living Room, 7.30, Edinburgh. A booking has been made for 20 - but it apparently felxible up or down a few.

details are further down the thread. If you are interests, either CAT (the "Contact a Mumsnetter" link at the top of the page, which will cost you £5 to have the facility for a year) or ask nailpolish to CAT you. She's already paid a deposit, so it is only fair to make sure she is not out of pocekt in the interim.

There are a number of us who will be going through from Glasgow on the train and back on the last train. I've met quite a few mumsnetters (I've been on here since ds was 1), but the only one on the train I'll have met will be bobsmum I think. Closer to the time we'll work out some way of identifying oursleves.

Caffersg - the other thread I was talking about is in the Pregnancy topic www.mumsnet.com/Talk/49/288793. Have a look there and see when they are next meeting up.

geordiemacmummy · 22/10/2007 18:08

Hey ladies - not long til the meet-up..not that I'm counting the days or anything!!

I'm on the bumps and bairns thread - I think it should be moved now, feels weird goin int the pregnancy topic now my ds is nearly 6 months

Caffersg - there are quite a few of us on that thread with babies between 3 and 8 months - actually its quite strange as very few of us are scottish -the thread was started when we were all looking for info on scans and hospitals as none of us were from the area - whereabouts in Glasgow are you? I'm in S.Lanarkshire.

Whats everyone wearing for the party? If I can get out without wearing baby sick or dribble then it will be a first!

There are a few others wh have expressed an interest, eg caffersg, so hepfully, we will get up to the magic 20 number.

It would be the biggest ever Scottish meet-up!

agalch · 25/10/2007 14:04

Ok i am def coming BUT i have no idea what to wear??? Do you guys normally discuss what everyone is wearing? I know it will be dress up but i am crap at deciding what to wear.

And also how do we "know" who we all are? Do we call each other NP and agalch for instance? And do we make badges(have sen that on other meet up threads)

I am getting excited?nervous,i am sad i know but i don't get out much lol.

nailpolish · 25/10/2007 14:47

we usually call each other our normal names. im going to wear a badge will get dd1 to make it

we are such a varied bunch, with such different tastes i think, just wear what you like! honestly, anything goes, who cares, it matters not.

i always get really dressed up it is christmas after all

PRUNE

i cant do thurs - work
friday its a bit tight as i have to collect dd1 from school at 12.

OP posts:
prettybird · 25/10/2007 15:05

I still haven't decided what I'm going to wear. I would imagin we would dress up a wee bit as it is a Christmas night out. Probably black trousers with either a wee pruplelacy top (with a pretty bra underneath) or a longer wrapver top which is sort of draped (so hides a non-flat tummy!) but has quite a low V front. Plus some dangly earrings.

ALternatively, I'll wear a charcoal grey knit dress - plain, calf length, long sleeves, V-neck and dress it up with a black "pearl" choker style necklace.

Or I could wear a long brown sily skirt (with handkerchief hema) with a beaded gold top and bronzy choker and matching dangly earrings.

Or if people are going a wee bit more casual, I owuld wear a wee red mini skirt with black opaque tights and a dressy black long sleeved T-shirt top.

I think those are all my options!

DeathByPruners · 25/10/2007 16:20

NAIL
next week then? The week after I am busy all week

Aargh at what to wear. I may need to buy something. Any suggestions?
