Hi. Anyone fancy meeting up in Leicestershire? I'm in Stoney Stanton but can drive. I've got a 15month ds.

Any day is okay for me and mid-August is fine too.

NineUnlikelyTales · 05/08/2007 17:43

Do we have to wear special hats, wear a flower in our button hole or carry The Times under our right arm, etc?

choufleur · 05/08/2007 18:57

what about a week on Thursday (16th) then? Bonkerz you'll have to make sure you join whoever turns up once you've finished work

The cafe next to the bridge across the river is fairly easy to find and close to the 'zoo' and the playground.

not sure i'll have a buttonhole to put a flower in - maybe i could tape a pink carnation to the buggy

A week on Thursday works for me. Any particular time?

Don't we need to read the Times upside down or something??

EscapeFrom · 05/08/2007 19:49

Is that the cafe near the maze thing?

choufleur · 05/08/2007 20:06

think the cafe is near the maze - you can't really miss it though it's next to the river.
what time suits other people? I'm not fussy.
Sunglasses and mac i think to go along with the upside down times and various flowers

can i come too

tigerschick · 05/08/2007 21:58

You've been on here a lot longer than I have, so of course, if I'm going, it should be taken as read that you can come!

NineUnlikelyTales · 05/08/2007 22:28

Yes I can make it then too.

madmumof5 · 05/08/2007 23:39

it will be a great day are we all takin a picnic

EscapeFrom · 06/08/2007 08:55

I will be taking a picnic, definately.

choufleur · 06/08/2007 09:06

Picnic it is then - 11.30??

OP posts:
EscapeFrom · 06/08/2007 09:10

11.30 is good

madmumof5 · 06/08/2007 10:37

11.30 sounds great i cant wait

NineUnlikelyTales · 06/08/2007 10:44

Escapefrom I don't suppose you happen to know which bus number it is that goes to the Park?

EscapeFrom · 06/08/2007 11:20

I SUSPECT it is the number 16. You catch it from near Primark.

choufleur · 06/08/2007 11:44

just looked at first buses and think it's 54 or 26. They stop on abbey park road and abbey lane. Have a look at the map www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/eastmidlands/leicester/map/index.php

OP posts:
EscapeFrom · 06/08/2007 11:57

NineUnlikelyTales - I will be on it anyway

tigerschick · 06/08/2007 12:04

11.30, Thurday 16th, picnic. Right, see you all then

NineUnlikelyTales · 06/08/2007 14:45

Oh brilliant, thanks for that choufleur and escapefrom. Can I just quickly rant about how Leicester is so stupid having 2 bus companies that don't accept each other's day tickets? It doubles the cost of going anywhere as I have to catch an arriva bus from home to town first.

I'll be there

tigerschick · 06/08/2007 15:01

Just out of interest ladies - thought we'd better let you know that choufleur and I know each other in RL. Not sure if or why it would make a difference to anyone but thought it would be polite to let you know in advance.
Really looking forward to meeting everyone else

NineUnlikelyTales · 06/08/2007 15:16

I've just worked out why you are called tigerschick - Doh

bonkerz · 06/08/2007 17:55

choufleur · 06/08/2007 18:58

Bonkerz still come. the more the merrier

OP posts:
NineUnlikelyTales · 06/08/2007 19:11

Yes, why not? There is no child limit on enjoying a picnic in the park
