She's still so little that I would carry on feeding her when she wants it. There's plenty of time to worry about getting her sleeping through the night and tbh whilst you only have one then you can let everything else go to pot and just concentrate on you and Ffion. I know you won't have that luxury for long but as her understanding increases then you can start telling her that it's sleep time not feeding time.

E still wakes up during the night occasionally (about once a week or so) and she just clambers over me to get into the middle of our bed and goes back to sleep whilst I hang onto the edge of the bed and try not to fall out.

Wednesday next week is fine with me do we want Alexanders or Starbucks?

Thanks mrspnut. I'm sure you're right. We had two nights of feeding at around 4am and then last night we were back to a 5am feed. If I sound a bit cheesed off it is because I keep hearing about younger babies sleeping 8-12 hours and some of them are still on milk. So I just wondered why my baby is still only doing 6 hours or less. I just have to accept that all babies are different and she will sleep through one day.

So next Wednesday it is. 1pm ok? I don't mind where we meet.

1pm will be fine but I might be a little bit late - I have an appointment to view a house at 12:45 but it shouldn't take me too long.

Starbucks would probably be better for me because it's at the same end of town as I'll be.

Shall we say 1.30pm at Starbucks on Wednesday.

Mrspnut you don't want to rush your house viewing. We only had 20 minutes to look around our house. We loved it straightaway and knew we wanted to buy it, but there were so many little things we didn't notice. We still have loads of jobs to do on this house.

1:30 will be fantastic - it should give me plenty of time to look round the house and then get from bracebridge heath to starbucks.

Hello everyone.

I just thought I'd pop on here to say hello as it has all gone quiet again. I hope you are all well.

Mrspnut - have you started your new job yet? Have you moved house? Good luck with it all.

I'm pleased to report that I'm getting a bit more sleep these days. My dd is feeding at 8.30pm and then going to sleep until about 5am when she wakes for a feed and then goes back to sleep until anywhere between 7am and 8.30am.

I've just seen this, I started my new job on tuesday after our eventful holiday.

DD2 came down with chicken pox whilst we were in the south of france and there were a few scary moments when we thought we might not be able to fly back with her.

We managed to get her on the flight though and signed the paperwork for our new house on monday, we're still moving in though and won't be done until next friday.

We're going to London for the weekend in the morning for a dinner at Kew Gardens so I'm beautifying myself tonight with the aid of wine (so I might think I look passable tonight and then freak at my reflection in the morning)

Hello Ktmoomoo. Sorry to hear about all your problems. I'm on maternity leave until 1st September and then will be starting the next maternity leave in November! So, apart from lots of mother and baby groups, I'm pretty much free if you want to meet up some time.

I hope everybody else is well.

I've now settled in at work and have arranged my week so I finish work at 1pm on fridays.

This means that I am free for meets on friday afternoons, and sometimes I may be able to arrange to collect DD2 a bit later so I can even meet on my own.

louise, do you still have my mobile number? can you text me yours, because I don't have much time now to check this thread and it'd be easier to just do the arrangements by text or email for me.

Hello,
I'm a first time mum to be baby is due in 3 weeks, I live in Lincoln have done for about 16 years but I don't know anyone near to me.

I'm 24 and have always found it hard to make friends when I was at school or college, but I would like to meet people so I can give my LO a head start in socializing. What meeting groups are there round Lincoln? Would be very greatful for any info on group meetings.

Which area do you live in? There is a good NCT group in Reepham on Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30. There is a separate baby section with toys as well as the main toddler bit.

Hi cbd. Welcome to this thread. We do have meet ups now and again and you are welcome to join us. It has been quiet on here recently, but me and mrspnut are both free to meet Friday afternoons. Is that any good for you?

I would recommend Surestart. I go to the Childrens Centre on Birchwood Avenue. It may be a bit late for you now, but they do an ante-natal session which you and your partner can attend in evening. (I can't remember which evening now so you'd have to telephone them to find out.) If you are planning on breastfeeding there is a session every Monday 11.30 to 1.30 called Breaststart where you can get advice both before and after your baby is born and you can talk to other breastfeeding mums. If you want more information about all the sessions that they do let me know. I really enjoy going and find everybody very friendly. It's government funded so it's all free.

Hi LouiseSJ and mrspnut
I live in Sudbrooke, top end of Lincoln. My baby is due on Aug 10th so not long left. At the moment I'm on Sick leave till December so it would be good to meet up with other mums and mums-to-be.

Hi, I would like to meet up with you, but i only have just over 2 weeks to go before my due date, also I have a lot of physical problems and being pregnant isn't helping them I'm spending most of my days in bed now struggling to move properly. Maybe I could meet up with you once jnr is born.

mrspnut - I'm very sorry but I won't be able to make it this Friday. I've decided to go away for the weekend. I hope that you are enjoying your new job and I'm sure we'll be able to arrange to meet up one Friday afternoon in the future. Maybe we'll be able to persuade more people to join us! It's been so quiet on here recently. Perhaps everybody is off on holiday.

ktmoomoo - Have a lovely holiday.
