woopsadaisy · 06/07/2007 12:47

can anyone come or do you have to be invited???

IntergalacticWalrus · 06/07/2007 12:55

We could get the train yiam, and then we can have a few drinks en route

yeahinaminute · 06/07/2007 13:23

I'm thinking motor up in the am - club has an underground car park, avail ourselves of the delightful refreshments on offer in the Ladies Bar - brought to you on a silver tray - stray in to the Members Bar - anoy Colonel Huffington - Buffington - Smythe by sitting in his wing backed chair by the fire - loll around, get ready and hit the town.

Have a small near death experience

Awake to Nurofen and the club's fab fry - up

Feel dodgy for a while

Then drive home when we're ready and not when First (not so feckin') Great Western decide to run a train

yeahinaminute · 06/07/2007 13:28

and this dear Walrus is where we'll stay !

WinnieThePooh · 06/07/2007 13:30

I won't be able to make it to London as my LO will only be a couple of months old. I am trying to arrange a meet up in Birmingham though.

midlands Xmas Prty

tiredemma · 06/07/2007 13:31

yeahinaminute- I have stayed there! either that one or the Union Jack club- cant remember which one now. Was a 17 yr old Army recruit on weekend leave- went with my pals from Army Training Barracks and got into SERIOUS trouble when we got back to camp for being to noisy.

yeahinaminute · 06/07/2007 13:47

Ah that'll be the Union Jack Club - they let in any riff - raff !

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/07/2007 14:21

A City pub sounds like it could be worth a go - as NQC says - they'll be quiet-er on a Saturday night and probably keen to take a huge booking.

All Bar One is not sooooo great. IME.

crunchie · 06/07/2007 21:57

eleusis · 10/07/2007 09:14

I can't possibly read all this. Can someone please recap for me so I don't get fired trying to catch up?

Do we have a place?
Do we have a date?
Are we including a dinner option?

Last year people who wanted to eat met for dinner before the party and this seemed to work well.

I seem to recall from last year that people were not happy with the dark crowded loud atmosphere because they couldn't hear or see the people they tried to talk to.

eleusis · 10/07/2007 11:04

Have I killed it?

Tortington · 10/07/2007 12:54

yes as a punishment you have to find a venue

AS NO FUCKER ELSE IS

eleusis · 10/07/2007 13:08

Okay,I can try... But, I need a bit of feedback:

  1. I assume the location is London, somewhere with good accessibility to public transport and hotels.

  2. We want someplace where we can talk/socialise/network if we want but also has music and dancing.

  3. Possibly someplace that serves food if people want it, but no deposit or minimum spend required.

  4. Prefer a place who will rope off an area for us (a bit like last year).

Okay, any comments, type them now...

eleusis · 10/07/2007 13:16

vote on dates here

eleusis · 10/07/2007 13:37

What about...

Woody's CLub (in Notting Hill)
41-43 Woodfield Rd.
London, United Kingdom W9
020-7266 3030

Zagat review:
A ?nice mixture of London? converges on this converted four-storey Notting Hill townhouse with a ?different type of bar? on each level, resulting in a ?handy mix of booths and dance floors? that allow you to ?dance or chat? depending on your whim; music varies from chart pop to spaced out punk funk to Afro-Latin house, and ?no matter what day you drop by?, the tunes are ?unbelievably good.?

I have never been to this place, so if anyone else has by all means speak up and tell if you liked it.

ComeOVeneer · 10/07/2007 13:52

Ele have added to the dates thread, and I am up for pre party dinner again. Are you planning on staying in a hotel again? DH owes me (at least) a night away.

eleusis · 10/07/2007 13:54

Oh, I was just going to send you an e-mail and ask you if you wanted to share a hotel room. That would be great.

eleusis · 10/07/2007 16:50

Can everyone who wants to come please go sign up on the vote on dates thread

eleusis · 11/07/2007 15:12
