On alot of news footage of the floods. Like the chap on bbc stood in the middle of the main road into Tewkesbury. Somebody has decided to practice their canoeing skills on the flood behind My concern would be, how the heck are you going to wash off (let alone your hands) that lovely flood/sewage water without tapwater you twit.[tut]

Very big packet of baby wipes?

BettySpaghetti · 23/07/2007 16:28

He might be one of the rubberneckers they mentioned on the news though - he might have travelled there purely to gawp at the floods and practise his canoeing before going home to a hot bath.

Itsthawooluff · 23/07/2007 16:30

Or the way the BBC is at the moment, he is probably the camera man's best friend and they've paid him to act like a prat

LunarSea · 23/07/2007 17:26

Hi all - plenty of flooding around here too, but thankfully no power or drinking water problems. I hade to laugh at this new housing development not far from us - very aptly named at the moment! Still planning to be there on Friday, weather and road conditions permitting.

mistressmiggins · 23/07/2007 20:35

hi girls
yes my house is fine - we are well away from flood area
Evesham is awful! and still raining as I type so although the floods had gone down a bit, am worried will rise again

today friend & I were in town & saw the local floating restaurant.....hour later returned to our cars & said boat had sunk!!!

Evesham smells awful & entire park is still underwater....

will still be there Friday though unless floods get worse again

rbj949703 · 23/07/2007 21:02

I'm still planning to be there. Dare I say it - Come hell or high water!

We've survived the floods so far, We're by the racecourse, the water got as far as the houses on the other side of the street, the park was flooded. Kids have had a fantastic time at the park, came back soaked. ds came back yesterday soadked up to his chest.

Hi ladies, glad to hear all flood based people are well. Hope the same can be said for your properties. I'm a bit stuck for getting there at the moment as have truly dreadful pelvic problems and driving is becoming a real issue . I hate to dip out at the last moment but I can't see how I'll get there - unless I also get a canoe!!

Itsthawooluff · 24/07/2007 17:10

Honor, do you want a lift?

HonorMatopoeia · 24/07/2007 17:11

I'm miles out from you aren't I? (although thank you and it is a very kind offer!)

HonorMatopoeia · 24/07/2007 21:00

Itsthawooluf - I've just read my last post back and it sounds really awful! Sorry trying to put it in a much better way, what I meant was. . . That's a really kind offer but I don't want to put anyone out by asking them to drive miles out of their way. There, that's much better!!
Night all

rbj949703 · 24/07/2007 21:41

Honor,

Where are you based?

Itsthawooluff · 25/07/2007 08:44

No worries mate! I'm devoid of children at the moment, and am missing my twice daily drives to Worcester, so coming to pick you up really wouldn't be a problem. CAT me if you do want a lift.

Also I had pubis di whatever it is in my second pregnancy, and it hurt like hell so much sympathy there.

Furball · 25/07/2007 19:47

We'll have another one in 2-3 months anyway sleepycat. We do get together 4-5 times a year! Trouble is also with delaying it is it's holiday season so someone somewhere at some point won't be able to go. We have had one with just 4 of us before.

OP posts:
Furball · 26/07/2007 17:16

they'll be 7 of us

OP posts:
HonorMatopoeia · 26/07/2007 20:09

Sorry guys, make that 6.
My heart says I should come, want to catch up with everyone and show off my baby bump!
Unfortunately my head is winning and it says 'Ouch, Oh my God, my pelvis and hips are killng me'. I really don;t think I could do a car journey to Worcester, sit through a meal and then travel back.
I'm seeing my midwife about my agony on Tuesday! To give you a funny picture of it though, I spent 10 minutes (no word of a lie, DH timed me!) trying to get into Dh's Honda CRV - not exactly a tall 4x4 type thing - yesterday. He swore he was going to fetch me Dd's bathroom step at one point!
Hopefully I can make the next one if it's before bump drops!
Thank you so much Itsthawooluf for the offer of the lift, I really appreciated it.

BettySpaghetti · 26/07/2007 20:36

Oh honor thats a shame

I had SPD myself though so appreciate how awful it makes you feel

HonorMatopoeia · 26/07/2007 21:01

I'm gutted, on both accounts (missing the meal and the SPD issue!)Have a drink for me!
