nemo - can i borrow your FIL? please please please!!!

JaamyBunny · 30/04/2007 22:56

Glad to hear you had a great break, Nemo! You'd better go for a 7 seater just incase you get the urge for another DC!!

Welcome colie. I have 2 DDs also - DD1 is 3-and-a-quarter (very important!) and my DD2 will also be 19mths next week 19mths. What are you studying? I am always very impressed with anyone who can study with small children!

I just about manage to go out to work 3 days a week and spend the rest of my time doing the mundane household things but also get chance to have fun with my DDs and sometimes we share our fun with the other lovely MNers and DCs on this thread!

Speaking of which...did we set a date for Farmer Teds??

Nemo2007 · 01/05/2007 16:24

wooo hoooo have put a deposit down on a vauhxhall zafira..so we have a 7 seater if need be..lol!!! Now just have to sell our little rover metro so if anyone knows someone who wants a car for £150 then point them this way!!! Also need to go and get my scenic either scrapped or auctioned off??!!

Hope everyone is ok..we didnt set a farmer teds date in the end did we?? Remember some people are away etc so when are people around towards the end of the month?

i thought it was june as S@2 mentioned!...

colie · 01/05/2007 23:18

Thanks for the welcome.

Nemo2007. Where was your holiday?

Rachfran, Whereabouts in Merseyside are you? I am on the Wirral.

Lulumama,
How much training do you do to become a doule (oh sorry about spelling), don't even think I have right word there.

Biglips-quickly read your profile, getting a bit late for me now to concentrate. My sister has finished a british sing language course. Will need to advice her about going to the pub with others that can sign.
Not sure where Seaforth is. Really need to improve my geography. I have only been living in the northwest for 8 months.

JaamyBunny-Your youngest is the same age as my youngest. Have the terrible two's started yet? For my sins, I am doing an access course along with maths gcse. I will just add, that the maths gcse is 10 times harder than the access course.

I better go as struggling to keep eyes open now. Thanks again ladies for the warm welcome

Leander · 02/05/2007 09:38

Hi all, Nemo glad to hear you had a good holiday and lucky you getting a new car.

Welcome colie,I am in liverpool and have 1 ds (5) and i dd who was 2 on monday, I must say I have only met some of the other mums once and they were all lovely.
E was 2 on Monday and we had an eventful weekend, firstly the dog got sick and we had to take him to the emergancy vets££££, then we had a party on Sunday and my niece ended up in A + E (water infection), Monday, We were having a bbq,bbq broke so we had to go out an buy another Had to take J to A+E thought he had broken his finger, had to take the dog back to the vets and didnt get back until 5pm then had to take j to gp and people started arriving at 5-30 and I hadn't prepared anything but it all turned out well in the end and E had a brilliant birthday, but I am absoulutely knackered.Oh Yes Liverpool are in the Champion league final So I am well happy
sorry that was a long ramble.

Nemo2007 · 02/05/2007 10:13

Hiya! I've been posting on the other thread ... oh well .

Nemo - glad you all had a lovely holiday, you deserved it and brilliant news about your fil finally deciding to spread some of his cash around , hope you have many, happy, safe journeys in it . Hope your ds's booster went o.k., I remember when our H.V. came out to do my ds1's booster, he hid behind my curtains and refused to come out, poor little thing was petrified, but he was absolutely fine with the needle it was just fear of the unknown I guess.

Leander, poor you having to deal with so much in just a few days , but Happy Birthday to your dd . p.s. What happened to your dog and how is it now?

Biglips and Jammy what have you been up to?

Biglips · 03/05/2007 09:00

wow Leanander....that wud take me a week to recover!! but glad u had a god time

Browny - ive been stripping the stairs on and off and making sure im out in between in the gorgeous sun and also seeing my relatives too and been hittin the gym too. Ive started to run on the treadmill now..phew blardy hard work!! Yesterday i was at my aunties all day with my dd, my mum, my cousin (my aunties DD), cousins DD who is 6m old than my dd and my other cousin (aunties granddaughter) and my auntie's hubby. Had a right laff and stuffing our faces with cream cakes and swigging it down with a small bottle of beer.! yum yum! PERFECT!

Wot u've been up to?

Colie - im originally from the Wirral - Greasby - but moved over here cos it was close to my work and also to Dp's work - hes from Seaforth. My Brother is living on the Woodchurch estate but is moving to somewhere else as too close to the shops. So i do go over on the wirral about once a month. There is another MNetter on here who lives in Prenton - MyLittleStar - but she got alot of problems atm so she feels she doesnt want to drag us all into it as feels its not fair.

colie · 03/05/2007 10:53

Leander, hope you have recovered from all those medical emergencies and that everyone is fine now, including the dog.

Nemo, hope kids are ok from the injections. It is always great once they are over and done with. Oh and happy picking up car day for next Thursday.

Biglips, well done about going to the gym, I will need to get motivated and do something about my jelly belly . Not sure where Greasby is but know Woodchurch as I go to Ganney's Meadow early years centre, in Woodchurch.

My eldest is off school now until Tuesday so best go and entertain her

colie · 03/05/2007 10:54

Leander, sorry forgot to say. Happy Belated Birthday to your daughter. Big 2!

Biglips · 03/05/2007 11:46

Hi All, thanks for dd birthday wishes, she had a great time she was very excited and oohed and aahed everytime she opened a birthday card twas very cute. The dog is fine, he had an abcess on his leg and had to have it lanced the wound was left open and is not pretty and cleaning it is pretty yuck but he is on the mend now thank god.
Nemo glad your little ones were fine after their jabs, E has been referred to Alderhey because she is underweight and is a terrible eater, not sure what they will do though.
Hope eveyone is enjoying the sunshine the weather is glorious. x

colie · 03/05/2007 21:22

You's are lovely telling me where you's live. Some area's I have heard of, or seen signs directing me to, but wouldn't remember where they are. I am a Wegie, that means a glaswegian, don't all take cover, I am generally quite normal really . Having lived in Glasgow for over 30 years it is taking me some time to get my bearings in the Wirral, never mind outside the Wirral.
Leander, I am sure Alderhey will keep a close eye on your lo. There isn't alot you can do when your lo won't eat.
I go to a scar clinic with dd2 at Alderhey. She fell when she was 16 months and we have been told she will be scarred for life.. Unfortunately the scar is on her face.
Sometimes you are as well being referred to a hospital, and then the consultant can put your mind at ease. Hopefully everything wil be fine with your lo.
Trying to make the most of this weather. Going to go to our local farm and have a picnic tomorrow. Let the kids run around and hopefully tire them out.

lulumama · 03/05/2007 21:30

hi again colie !

doula uk and nurturing birth explain more about becoming a doula!

JaamyBunny · 03/05/2007 22:38

Hello All!

Been too busy enjoying the sun to post! ANd trying to get ourselves ready for our hols. Like mobilising an army!
DD1 has her first ballet lesson on Saturday. I'm a bit nervous that it might be too strict for her. Maybe I should have just signed her up for something a bit less structured?? But she looks very cute in her ballet gear. ANd DD2 has discovered her love of the outdoors. She goes hysterical whenever we try to bring her inside.

Lulu - how did your NCT day go??

Leander Happy Birthday to your DD. Hope your hospital visit goes ok.

Rachfran - Just seen on one of the other threads that you had a not-so-good hol. I'm sorry to hear that. Will you get any compensation? Hope you are enjoying the nice weather here now.

BL - Gym followed by cream cakes and beer! I like that fitness regime!

Colie - terrible twos??? We have full-on lie down on the floor kicking sessions...does that count?...what fun!

Nemo - We're going to take up all the room in the car park now aren't we!!! Have been oogling all the zafiras on the roads, comparing 7-seaters, as you do. Let me know how it compares to the Scenic. And happy driving when you get it!

Browny - how're your gang doing? Hope you dad is continuing to improve. My mum has been struggling along with a bad knee for a couple of months now. Finally got her to call the docs for an appt this morning and they can't see her until at least the 14th. By which time I'm sure she'll have wriggled out of going. She's struggling on cos she thinks we can't manage without her.

Are you still going away at the end of may for your birthday? Not long now!

rachfran · 10/05/2007 12:28

Hello all
Any news on the mmet up?
Jaamy hope you all have a lovely, relaxing holiday.
