Thanks Nemo!

Nemo2007 · 20/04/2007 15:30

Well we are supposed to be going on our free holiday next friday that the babywebsite gave me too review. Now got in the car this morning to go to toddlers and its making a horrendous banging noise and think the suspension has gone!!! I was already dubious about making a 2hr trip in the car but now cant go in it at all..what am I going to do??? I want to sob as its not often a free holiday comes along but there is no way I can afford to get the car fixed.

Biglips · 21/04/2007 21:15

jaamy - will i just stick my thumb out for a lift??

please count me in but i cant promise if i will have any transports as Farmers Ted is difficult to get from here and Chester Zoo will take forever from here too!!

Biglips · 21/04/2007 21:16

oh no Nemo....

JaamyBunny · 22/04/2007 20:43

Nemo, poor you. I suppose you all really couldn't squeeze into the "C" car!! COuld you speak to the people who want you to review the holiday and tell them your car is broke and would they possibly considere giving you some money towards a hire car? Where is it?? Could you get the train or National Express?

BL - sorry didn't realise you were carless. Offered lift to Browny cos I know she doesn't drive. We'll sort something out.

Nemo2007 · 23/04/2007 15:46

All is saved we can squeeze[and I mean squeeze] all 3 car seats in the back of the Comet car..lol Now the only problem is whether or not we can fit clothes and the pram in..pmsl. Other bonus is the Mil said that Fil had said on saturday he was thinking of buying us a 2nd hand 7 seater Of course he has not mentioned anything to us but am ever hopeful as fil is quite well off but not the type of offer you money..hence us living off nearly nothing the past couple of months but fil not donating anything..its a hard and weird situation..lol

OP posts:
Browny · 23/04/2007 16:31

Nemo, that's good news, have you got or could you borrow a roof box to put all your clothes in? Where are you going? Fancy your fil being well off and not helping you when you were in dire straits .

Nemo2007 · 23/04/2007 16:44

we are going to Angelsey as was asked by thebabywebsite to do a cottage review which is aimed at people with babies and toddlers. It is basically supposed to be a home from home so dont have to worry about stairgates, sterilisers, toys etc as they provide everything. We dont have a roof box and dont think the Comet car takes on. BTW I call it the Comet car all the time as if you saw it you would KNOW it was my dh driving..lol
As for FIL it is frustrating but he is one of those weird people who you cant ask for money as he wouldnt give but you have to wait for it to be offered.

Browny · 23/04/2007 17:13

Wow, you've managed to get a free holiday..... well done you!! So all you've got to do now is figure out a way to fit in three lots of children's clothes and two adults... the only thing I can say is that I hope there is a washer/dryer at the cottage so you can take as little clothing with you as possible, your pram will no doubt take up the boot space. Have a lovely holiday and don't forget to tell us all about it .

rachfran · 26/04/2007 16:03

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 22:53

thanks Jaamy..how are you finding your bus by the way??

OP posts:
JaamyBunny · 27/04/2007 23:08

It's pretty cool, Nemo! Not as nippy as my 2 litre astra was but everything else is fab...

I like being a bit higher up...looking down on everyone, y'know! The DDs like being able to see out, too which was one thing I noticed the first time I saw your DCs in your Scenic (RIP!!!) Really great being able to throw everything into the boot. And the blinds and the little tables in the back and the cool card ignition thingy and all the little storage compartments...

I suppose it'll do!!!

Could you borrow a trailer from someone for the luggage?

Hope you have a fab time once you get there.

Biglips · 28/04/2007 09:10

"the wheel on the bus goes round and round , round and round"!.... Jaamy - it must feel good being higher up though as i love it when i used to hire the transit big vans when we was moving in here and i wanted to get rid of my car....hee hee
