maybe yorkshire girls are all that dozy, but you just don't realise

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:24

Oi! Remember where you live now, I don't care what your roots are missus!!

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 09:25

I am a bit dozy!!!!!!

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 09:26

and where I come from we are all carrot crunching tractor driving bumpkins - so Yorkshire is positively cosmopolitan!!!

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:38

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 09:41

looks like it's just us next week, everyone's off on holiday. Shall we have a little meet up?

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:42

Yeah sounds good to me - where do you fancy? Is it school holidays?

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 09:47

it is in wakey (G is back at school tho - only gets a week off). If the weather is nice shall we do cannon hall? If it's not leapfrogs? I'm off to pick G up (been at a friend's for the night). Speak to you in a bit x

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:49

Yeah I'm up for that - off to earn a crust, will prob be back on later this eve or tomorrow.

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 18:08

I paid a man to clean my oven today - am I a really terrible housewife????? It looks fab though, just like a brand new oven. He was here for 3 hours, scrubbing away. I thought he'd come in with some amazing machine and it'd be done in 5 mins. I felt a bit crap watching him so I cleaned the kitchen whilst he did it (to pretend I was a good housewife after all!!!!! )
It's sad when the highlight of your week is a clean oven, isn't it?

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 19:01

PMSL at getting your oven cleaned! Mine could do with it but there's no way dh would let us pay someone to do!

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 19:05

what you do is get the man to clean it and don't tell him so when he notices how clean it is you say, 'I've been so busy today, darling, it took me all day to clean this oven'. He then thinks you are a super wife and buys you a present!!!!! Unfortunately DH was home when the oven man was here, so he knows I didn't do it

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 19:08

How much was it if you don't mind me asking?

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 19:19

£40 for a single oven (my friend has a range type and it was £80 - ouch, but he was there for 5 hours!!!!!). He was here scrubbing away for over 3 hours, I just can't see how the man can make a decent living out of it! And he was really scrubbing at it, it was proper hard work. He took the oven to pieces practically and cleaned every inch. I think he was a bargain, because it has never looked as lovely!!!! I think I should get commission, I'm going to recommend him to everyone I know!!!!

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 19:23

Yeah, to be fair I guess that isn't too bad considering he solidly worked for 3hrs. Still, would never be allowed one though!

sarahhal · 31/05/2007 19:34

What a luxury Ginger!
Just got back from fab day out at Sundown adventure place - never been before and it was great! Was recommended by Madmarchhare who I met on the Mile for Maude (hello if you are out there!!) Was £8 in (free for under 2s) and there was so much to do. It was a bit weird to start with as I couldn't quite get my head around what sort of place it was but the DSes loved it. Will try a link (even this new way baffles me!)

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 19:53

best £40 I've spent in ages!!!! . DD went to sundown on a school trip a couple of years back and loved it. I keep meaning to go, if she can squeeze me in at some point in the summer hols I will take her and L (and if she tells me once she is bored this summer, I swear I will throttle her the amount of stuff she is doing). It rained here today, but only a little bit. I wish the summer would hurry up, I want to get outside and run about a bit.

Phoenix · 31/05/2007 22:07

So ginger did he show you how he cleaned it then you can come clean mine for free? and i'll take G to Haven with us

Gingermonkey · 31/05/2007 22:36

It's a deal!!!!!!

Phoenix · 02/06/2007 22:25

If anyone's free week commencing 11th June i'm available for a meet up all week

How am i gonna cope for 5 days without mumsnet?

Gingermonkey · 02/06/2007 22:31

What you need is a blackberry . DH won't let me have one because he says I don't need it . I'm sure I'm free then, would you like to come round and see my clean oven? . Left a message for you on other thread too re. haven.........

Chloe55 · 03/06/2007 10:02

Well, I'm going on holiday on the 13th but might be able to do the Tues? Don't worry too much about me though because knowing me I will probably still not have packed by then anyway so if you want to go another day that's absolutely fine.

Gingermonkey · 03/06/2007 10:04

It's sunny!!!!! If it's like this shall we go and see some animals tues, chloe? Is it supposed to be nice weather next week? (I don't like to check)

Chloe55 · 05/06/2007 09:00

Really sorry I haven't been on the past couple of days but I am poorly - Firstly, I badly burnt myself of Sunday (how stupid am I?) and so was up most the night feeling dizzy and sick and unable to lay on my burnt shoulders!! Then, to top that off I have got tonsilitis.

Also, ds is having to have a complete nappy-free day because he must have poo'd yesterday at the beginning of his nap (a really runny, horrid one) and it leaked out, so where the seam of the nappy runs he has the most sore area ever. Putting a nappy on just rubs on it so I have been running round this morning cleaning up poo and wee quicker than he can eat it

Sorry to let you down....again...GM, I really would love a day out today but neither of us would be much fun to be around this morning

Gingermonkey · 05/06/2007 10:22

Oh poor you! I usually get burnt so I have loads of sympathy for you! I have hayfever from hell today and L had his MMR and the something cockle one today (I can't keep up with the anount of jabs they have these days - G only had about 3 when she was little) so we are miserable too! Have fun today with your anti bac spray and wipes! See you next week (fingers crossed!!!)
