Hi all.
Just popped on to see what's happening re tomorrow and say hello.
GM-will be nice to meet you and sausage too.
sounds like there are a few of us so that will be nice, and I know where I am going this time!

Best get off-in the middle of tiling and was only supposed to stop really quickly.

See you all at 10.
Sarah-Sorry you can't make it. Won't be at M for M (May go to the Derby one but not sure cos want to spent time with DH at w/e) but will sponsor when I get a minute (and when link works!)

Gingermonkey · 07/05/2007 18:28

chloe - I'll show you the core strength exercise (as promised ). I need to do them more, my back has been killing me lately. smiley, I'm looking forward to meeting you too (and you don't really want to meet sausage, she's a right grumpy git and her kids are full of germs) . I wish they'd have some nice cake at leapfrogs, I saw one last time I went but it was for a party (got all excited too ). Might start bringing my own.....

PhoenixGirl · 07/05/2007 20:05

See u all tomorrow at 10ish

Chloe55 · 08/05/2007 14:09

Oh shit - GM you forgot to show me the abdominal exercises!!!

Gingermonkey · 08/05/2007 18:27

I know, I remembered just as I got in the car! Remind me next time and I'll show you, hows your back been? Mine hurts at the minute, being lazy and not going to the gym enough (or at all)

SmileyC · 08/05/2007 21:54

Hi
Had a lovely morning, Thanks. Nice to meet you GM. DS loved the ball pit. Did not spend long in there cos it was time for his dinner but he thought it was great!

He slept all the way home and for about another 30 mins in the car afterwards. He screamed for about an hour after he woke. Must have been his teeth. Finally calmed him down and went to neighbour's 1st b'day party for her little girl.DS had a great time and was in hysterics at their 5 year old. Do I have the only child who is obsessed with washing machines???? He sat up/stood staring through the door at neighbour's and was talking to the washing inside (it was not turned on at the time).

Gingermonkey · 08/05/2007 22:02

Bless him! It was really nice to meet you too. L also likes the washing machine - but he likes to put things in it and try to turn it on, I'm training him to be a domestic god!

Chloe55 · 09/05/2007 08:12

Yeah back is worse than ever I think GM, partly my fault - I haven't exercised properly for a couple of weeks now and I'm not concentrating on sleeping in a decent position. Gonna be upping my exercise once my boss sorts me out a routine anyway - which I think will be today...eeeeek! I asked him to do it because he is a fitness freak and perfectionist and says I should be further on than I am with my running so I thought it was a good idea at the time to get him to help me with it!

Smiley - ds loves the washing machine, which is fine when it's on coz he can't open the door but as soon as it's finished he drags it all out over the floor - I too am trying to train him to put it from the washer into the dryer

Gingermonkey · 09/05/2007 08:51

I absolutley hate exercise. I was going to the gym today with DH but he is bed poorly so I couldn't be bothered to go by myself . I will go and buy some weights today though, I've been saying it for months and not doing it. Then I can do something about the bingo wings that will be appearing in no time!!!!

PhoenixGirl · 10/05/2007 20:38

Nothing to add this thread just disappeared off my threads i'm on list

SmileyC · 10/05/2007 21:14

'lo!
Just popped on to say hi.
Had a nice day today. Hope you all did too. Managed to get three washloads done and out and 3rd is mostly dry! DS did not sleep til 3.15-on his way back from jabs in the car. I put him down as usual for his nap (he has one big nap-he sleeps 12-2ish)and he seemed tired and looked certain to go to sleep-very quiet and snuggling in to muslin and dogga toy. 5mins later he was screaming the house down. I put Pink Floyd on very loud downstairs and left him to settle (could not listen to his screams-poor lamb). Decided I would give him 5mins to see if he got quieter/calmer. After a minute or so he was louder and more upset than ever. So I went up. He was fine once out of cot. This has happened several times this week and I'm hoping it's a phase. He has teeth coming through but is happy & shows no signs of pain whilst out of bed. As soon as I put him down in the day (sometimes at night now too) he screams ( I mean he really shrieks ). Could be teeth/separation anxiety /wanting to stand & cruise rather than go to bed (he is getting close to a solo walk I reckon).
Any ideas?
How was everyone's day?

Chloe55 · 10/05/2007 21:20

How can you add done 3 loads of washing and had a nice day in the same sentence?

Ds went through a bit of a phase similar to your ds Smiley - it lasted about and month or so and he would literally scream whenever it was time for a nap/bed. He has always gone down really well and does again now, come to think about it I bet he was a similar age to your ds when he was going through his screaming patch at bedtime. I used to leave him for a few minutes then go up and try him with another bottle (he was getting bad at taking his last bottle too so it was quite useful to get a second chance) sometimes this would calm him, if not it was just a case of leave to cry for a few minutes then walk in (don't look at him), pick him up to lay him back down, put my hand on his chest, say shhhhhh repeatedly and walk back out again - it worked eventually but he just seemed to grow out of it. If you think it might be teeth dose him up on Calpol

SmileyC · 10/05/2007 21:40

I like washing!!!
Thanks for advice.

Chloe55 · 10/05/2007 21:45

Fancy a trip to my house? - I have lots of washing just waiting for a laundry fanatic to do. Oh and 1/2 a double bed's worth of ironing!

PhoenixGirl · 10/05/2007 21:51

and when you've been to chloe's you can nip thru to do mine too

SmileyC · 10/05/2007 22:01

Don't do ironing!

PhoenixGirl · 10/05/2007 23:00

I don't iron either

Gingermonkey · 10/05/2007 23:03

And when you are done with them just nip round to me and do my washing too please. In fact mine is half way between Chloe and PG so you can do PG on your way home . That ok? Right I'm off to bed, got to drive down to mum's tomorrow to have lunch with Granny - my Grandad died a couple of months back and she is a bit lost without him (63 yrs of marriage, she probably feels like her arms and legs have been cut off, poor little thing). And on a happy note, my best friend is pregnant so am going for tea at hers before I come back home (not looking forward to the 6 hr round trip but there you go!!!). Speak to you all at the weekend no doubt xxx

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 17:37

GM- Hope you had a nice lunch with your Gran. I bet she will have been really cheered up by your visit. Hope you had a nice time with your preggo friend too.
Had a really nice week this week. Just hope that DS stops the screaming fits. Did not have one today cos we went into town after playgroup and he fell asleep in pushchair instead of me trying to coax him to sleep in the cot!
Hope you have all had a nice day.x

Chloe55 · 11/05/2007 17:50

I ache, really ache. First session in the gym last night for years and boy can I feel it! I did go again this evening but did an aerobic workout and layed off the weights and sit-ups.

That's really sad about your Grandad GM, my nanna lost her husband too have god knows how many years of marriage and she feels lonely alot, I know this because we have become closer recently and she confides in me more, I feel so sorry for her Losing your soulmate must feel like losing a part of yourself.

I'm gonna have fajitas for tea - I'm starving and dh is still an hour away

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 18:08

Chloe-Fajitas are yum. We have them with yogurt rather than sour cream. It works well and is more healthy and they are quick to prepare. Have them about once a week. Also have Indian (Pataks Paste) which we use the remains of the yogurt in. Also jackets and pasta. They are all so tastey and quick. DH is a fab cook and does all sorts of scrummy meals on nights when we have more time. I hardly cook, he does most of it. So much so that when I do cook, I can hardly think what to do....
Hope DH gets home soon so you can eat.
Have to go do DS bath etc soon.
Were you talking about trying for #2 the other day at leapfrogs? (Tell me to mind my own business if you like!) We are thinking of maybe trying when DS turns 2 (March 08) so that #2 is born a little before DS turns 3. That way, I won't be trying to struggle getting DS to nursery and back when I also have a newborn to cope with. If we don't get the timing right, we will prob skip a few months of trying so that #2 would be born just after DS gets settled into nursey for the same reason.
What's everyone up to this w/e?

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 18:13

The other thing we need to consider re #2 is my age. I will be 33 at Xmas so need to get another one in fairly soon. DS took awhile and I will begin to worry if we leave things too long. Want to get more fit before #2 though. Slow progress so far. I am very habitual and did really well with exercise dvds at home for a while and then it all tailed off. Just started again last night. Really ought to get to the gym/classes but feel like I need to build up a bit more fitness at home before I do that-would rather not be red as a beetroot in public! Not sure if that's just me procrastinating????

sarahhal · 11/05/2007 18:42

Back in the real world! Have just had OFSTED in school this week so have just had a few days from hell with the amount of work I've been doing!
