I was just wondering if anyone is interested in a follow up to to the Christmas bash. I personally had a great time. I think there was some talk about one in Birmingham a whle ago but I'm not what ever came of it.

So would anyone be interested in one in London (assuming it doesn't conflict one in Birmingham -- don't want to step on any toes of course!)

Anyone interested? Say sometime in May (but not the 19th)?

Any ideas on where to go? Not too dark? And not too noisy?

Are we having a meal or is it drinks only?

uwila · 03/02/2007 08:40

I was thinking we could organise the meet-up for drinks. But, if people want to meet for dinner before hand then they can organise that. That's what we did for the Christmas meet-up.

what area of London?

uwila · 03/02/2007 09:07

Don't know. Probably somewhere easily accessible to public transport / hotels.

OP posts:
uwila · 03/02/2007 09:09

Oh, and somewhere with a reasonable restaurant selection nearby.

suggestion?
how about looking at what hotels have an offer on (usually loads in first 3/ 4 mths of the year) and book a db&B deal?
we had a fab dirty night away at Hilton Docklands a couple of years ago for something like £100 dinner, b&B.
But there's loads in places like Windsor, Reading way.

I'd love it assuming we don't have to do dd's party that weekend (borthday mid week, aiming for following weekend but all depends on other birthdays in class iywsim)

I went to the Xmas meet up. Enjoyed it but so so so scary and i was not very chatty cos paralysed with fear lol.

uwila · 04/02/2007 09:43

I think we need a place in London and let people organise their own accomodation. There are inevitably lods of no shows so if we try to book an all inclusive thing then someone is bound to get stuck with a massive bill.

So, I think it's better just to name a place and let people organise dinner and accommodation on their own. Also, once you goutside of London it's harder to get to for those travelling because they have to travel into London to the travel back out to Windsor/Reading/wherever.

So, can we open to the discussion to bar recommendations in London? I'll have a look round the web. But, if anyone has any ideas they know of from first hand experience their input would be most welcome.

OP posts:
littlemisssensible · 05/02/2007 13:09

Thought we'd settled for the 12th, but I might have got that wrong!

ComeOVeneer · 05/02/2007 13:10

I thought it was decided on the 12th to.

quokka · 05/02/2007 13:11

quokka · 05/02/2007 13:12
