yes, 10.30 at the sofas - if anyone else is on them already we will have to lurk around close by to make sure they push off . I'll have a bit of cake for you 2gorgeous, I'll have a bit of cake for everyone - I can't resist cake!

milkymill · 11/02/2007 18:31

I never want to see another cake! I've spent the entire afternoon making cake today. That said i'm sure ill manage to polish off a piece or 2 tonight.

gingermonkey · 11/02/2007 18:35

I can't make cake, I try but it always fails miserably. I can cook most other things but puddings and baking are not my speciality!

spiker · 11/02/2007 18:36

I think I'll be there tomorrow (Mon 12 Feb). 10.30 whacky at Lawnswood yes? Will it be hectic with older kids though cos it's half term? And can you take prams in?

I have 2 boys, aged 3 (well, he will be on Tues) and 11 months. I have long frizzy red brown hair. I might wear sunglasses...

And is there really an M&S there or was that in reference to cats??

milkymill · 11/02/2007 18:43

I'm not too hot at cooking in general Gingermonkey, but i like a recipe to follow, i need implicit instructions which i can follow exactly. We were talking about M&S at the train station spiker.

gingermonkey · 11/02/2007 18:50

but wouldn't it be cool if there was an m&s at the whacky??? You could do your food shop and entertain the kids at the same time. It's genius. Maybe one day someone will do it, until then we can only dream

manuka · 11/02/2007 18:54

I wish I could wear skinny jeans! I'm such a lard bucket since dd. I'm sure cake has nothing to do with the fact I still can't fit into my rings!!! So Gingermonkey's tall red glasses, Auntymandy is pregnant etc etc I hope I remember this and know who u r! Hope I don't go up to someone else and totally embarrass myself!!!!
[have any of you seen the very heated debate on abortion on the Health threads?! Its mental! good job its on internet or they'd all be smacking each other!!!]

milkymill · 11/02/2007 19:00

I had a brief look in manuka. It was so long i didn't even want start reading. It's a pretty emotive subject.

gingermonkey · 11/02/2007 19:05

I can't get in to the heated debates - I'm sure I'd say something that would upset people and they'd rant at me! Some people can be really vicious, can't they???

gingermonkey · 12/02/2007 05:26

I'm afraid I'm not going to make it today. The Monkey has slept really badly last night, he's got a snotty nose and a cough so I think he must be coming down with something (I've now given up trying to put him back to sleep so we have been playing downstairs for the last 30 mins!!!). I think I'll be so tired and grumpy that I'll be very bad company. I'm really sorry, I was looking forward to meeting everyone, now it'll be Nick Jr for me all day (and hopefully a few naps!)

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 06:47

Go on be brave and come. I have been up since just after 5. You can wear him out this morning and sleep all afternoon!!!
I am a bit nervous to be honest, but looking forward to it too!!!

He's being an absolute nightmare. Just wants to be cuddled and won't go down. That means he's poorly because he's usually an independant little thing. I don't want to give a bug to everyone else either - you might exclude me on the 23rd!!!!! My friend's 2 have been poorly so I'm thinking he has caught what they had (seeings as we were playing together on thurs). If he was just snotty I'd be there - I'm not a namby pamby mummy, just make em get on with it...but I think he's actually poorly. DH is hassling me for the laptop so he can go to work, I'll get the old computer fired up and may be back in an hour or so when it's finally allowed me to log on!!! (just took ages to type this with one hand and a 16mth old clinging onto me and pressing the keys!)

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 07:53

Hope he gets better soon.
I was looking forward to sharing our cake eating habit!!!

manuka · 12/02/2007 07:56

Poor little chap! There's a good homeopathic remedy for being snotty and clingy. can't bloody remember its name though!!
I really hope I know who to approach!! I'll be wearing a black mac type coat! and dd in red duffel coat.

claire22leeds · 12/02/2007 08:33

im so exicted now i cant wait lol. ill have a black coat on and ive got blue glasses and ben will have a blue coat on.

gingermonkey · 12/02/2007 08:41

Im very grumpy! He's just puked a load of snot up, all down his clean PJs, so that has made my mind up - we are not going to go and meet new people today!!! He looks like a right little peasant too, his hair has crusty bogeys in it (despite having a shower earlier!)and he has that lovely snail trail effect on his face! Don't you just love snotty toddlers? I'm hoping there will be cake next week at cool cats, cake and me are very good friends! Have a fab time today everyone and have a little nibble of cake for me AM.

manuka · 12/02/2007 14:15

Hello Gingermonkey! Hope your little monkey is ok. The remedy is Pulsatilla for snot and clingyness.
Shame you couldn't make it today it was very jolly! Hopefully meeting up again at gingerbread cottage soon so will let you know.

gingermonkey · 12/02/2007 14:25

Thank you for that, it sounds like a snot germ actually! He had a lovely long nap this morning (on the floor in the sitting room) and then we went to see a friend (the one that gave me the germ in the place, to try and give it back, but she didn't want it!). He was sick on me and fell asleep in the car for an hour and a half. He seems much brighter this afternoon, but his face is even snottier and his hair is very crusty now! On the positive side, I managed to do the supermarket shopping online (eventually, after trying sainsburys, giving up and trying tescos - which is much easier to understand!). DS is now lying on the floor in the dining room moaning and looking pathetic, poor little monkey! Definately count me in for the next time and I will be there on the 23rd, the snot should be gone by then!!!!

Tatties · 12/02/2007 15:47

Oh dear - sorry to hear about your poor little monkey

There are a load of germs around atm; ds has had the longest-running runny nose over the last fortnight. I think it has just about gone now!

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 15:50

the meet up was good!
look forward to seeing you soon.
Might make a regularish meet at Whacky or gingerbread!!!

gingermonkey · 13/02/2007 11:06

Count me in!!! I feel poorly today and ds is much better, running around like a looney while mummy whimpers

auntymandy · 13/02/2007 18:27

poor you!
See you soon. Noticed others havnt been on this thread since meet up...maybe they didnt like me after all!!!!

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 13/02/2007 19:48

lol, how many of your brood did you take with you? Might have scared people off - they wouldn't want to get too friendly and have to invite you round for tea, your lot could eat a 'normal' family's weeks worth of shopping for a snack . I'm definately coming next fri. DS is normally at nursery on fri morns but he's been booked off. At least I know he won't be poorly, he's had his cold now for this half of the year that'll be it til June or July (touch wood). Do we know yet if cool cats opens at 9.30? I keep meaning to phone but then forgetting (not a very organised person). And I will be up for any other meet ups. Just keep me posted
