I had DD at 18 but Im now an ancient 23!

Nutcracker · 23/05/2004 20:06

I had dd1 at 19 but am now 25

NomDePlume · 23/05/2004 20:07

I guess I fall into that category, I'm 22 with a 21 month old DD. She was born when I was 20 + 4 months. Married to her father for almost a year now.

NomDePlume · 23/05/2004 20:08

I'm the oldest so far..... Perhaps I shouldn;t have posted on here after all !!!

granarybeck · 23/05/2004 20:13

i must definitely not be young anymore then i had ds1 at 19 but now i'm 26...scary

NomDePlume · 23/05/2004 20:15

Sorry granary, you've misunderstood ! I meant I am the oldest at time of birth so far !!!

nikcola · 23/05/2004 21:44

nikcola · 23/05/2004 21:49

tammybear · 23/05/2004 21:53

Oh I kicked ex out back in August last year nikcola. No worries, it was all my idea , and Im with my dp who Im really happy with but I still classify myself as a lone parent lol. Quite tough on my own with dd though. Shes at the age of driving me up the wall

OP posts:
tammybear · 23/05/2004 21:54

actually lets say single mum. it sounds nicer than lone parent lol

OP posts:
tammybear · 23/05/2004 22:05

Nikcola, you dont live too far away from me. Im in Watford

OP posts:
meandthomas · 23/05/2004 23:49

Hi, I'm 19 and my ds is 7 months.
Single mum does sound better than lone parent. More realistic! lol

misdee · 23/05/2004 23:53

well i'm 23, but had dd1 at 19yrs + 11 months, so close to not being a teenage mum lol. also a herts person

taramac · 23/05/2004 23:58

Not young anymore but had my first ds when I was 22 and 5 weeks - don't know if that qualifies me!! I found it hard to meet any other young mums at the time or mums that weren't married as I was with my dp. Still don't have many friends my age - most are a good 5 to 10 years older than me - I'm 28 now btw!

misdee · 23/05/2004 23:59

i'm bloody 24, not 23, it was my birthday last month. can i still have nappy brain 20months after giving birth to dd2?

nikcola · 24/05/2004 13:09

yeh that is quite close to me i do my shopping in watford (clothes shopping) we should meet up?
my dd drives me mad too she is 2 and a half how old is your dd?

Flip · 24/05/2004 13:16

I was 21 when ds1 was born but now I'm an old 27 although I still concider myself to be a young mum as I've got so much to learn.

tammybear · 24/05/2004 16:56

dd's 17 months nikcola, that would be nice if we could meet up!

have any of you guys try parent and toddler groups whilst "young"? Im thinking of going to one, but Im a bit afraid that I will be burnt to the stake for being a young mum lol (maybe not that extreme!!)

OP posts:
nikcola · 24/05/2004 17:21

i went to one but all the moms where a lot older than me and i felt a bit funny but im a bit wierd anyway, have you lost contact with all your friends like i have ?

tammybear · 24/05/2004 17:37

Two of my friends have ds's. but they're both 4 this year, and I hardly see them these days either

OP posts:
nikcola · 24/05/2004 17:56

i have 2 friends and they both dont have kids but they get on v well with dd she loves them, i had sooo many friends at school but they are all too busy with their own lives to bother with me im just a boring mom

tammybear · 24/05/2004 17:59

I know how you feel, If you ever want to meet up, that'd be cool. Im hoping to pass my driving test on July 5 so hopefully if I do, I should be able to get around more as well

OP posts:
nikcola · 24/05/2004 18:21

tammybear · 24/05/2004 18:30
