Uwilalalalalala · 10/11/2006 10:52

Shut up, oxo.

Uwilalalalalala · 10/11/2006 10:53

But, you kow Ilove you paddle. I'm just sooooooo sad that you cancelled on me on Monday, and now you won't come tinight either. sniff sniff

hoxohoxohoxo · 10/11/2006 10:55

pppppppppppptttttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhhh

(raspberry sound)

Paddlechick666 · 10/11/2006 10:59

yeah Bovril, shet up! and that goes for braggin about kid free Paris trips too

I prostrate myself before you Uwila and beg your forgiveness for my abberations of this week.

are we re-scheduling for next Monday?

oh and d'you really think telling nice people like Oxo to shut up is acceptable behaviour for a Sunday School teacher?

I can get away with it because I am heathen

Uwilalalalalala · 10/11/2006 11:02

Errr... I'm only a SS teacher on Sundays. The rest of the week is for sinning.

Okay okay I'm sorry, Oxo.

I did my Richmond school application today. Oh my, what a stressful experience. I thinkI'll die if don't get our first choice. r

Uwilalalalalala · 10/11/2006 11:05

Oh yes, rescheduling... well, I'm all out of babysitting money. [sad but true]

And i think DH might kill me if I plan another night out when he can watch the kids. What about if we bump the time up a tad and I bring the kids. Say 5:30-7:30 on night next week? And nanny will be thrilled because she can get off early in Twickers. What do you think. HAppy to take this converstion off of MN, but e-mail would be much better than text.

Paddlechick666 · 10/11/2006 11:12

okay will email you.........

harktheheraldfoxessing · 10/11/2006 12:50

Festival - sounds like you might have eczma on your eyelids or an allergic reaction! I always use clinique, as everything else makes my eyes do what yours have done

Or maybe your make up remover has gone off, if its kept near a radiator?

Uwila - I only put one choice for DDs school!! She's a sibling so will get in. When I applied for DS, he was rejected and I lost two weeks sleep over it. But he went on the waiting list and got in eventually. The annoying thing is that people I knew got in and they'd lied about heir addresses (so it looked as though they lived closer than us, although they didn't really ).

Just popping over to the Nov 10 thread now to check we're still on for tonight

pudding77 · 10/11/2006 14:50

Ok, Nicky's prices for a facial (personalised facial, I might add) are £30 for 45mins, £40 for 1 hr, £50 for 1 1/4 hrs & £60 for 1 1/2 hrs.

pudding77 · 10/11/2006 14:50

& she does do a very good massage as well!

hoxohoxohoxo · 10/11/2006 15:10

argh - just been for another wasted interview. Washed my face and even have MAKE UP on .

Why can't employers read 'part time' on a CV?

Please: can't one of you lot just get a job for me. Pretty, pretty please.

Sorry not wagamamaing tonight.
a, broke
b, broke and no job
c, school firework night
Hope you all enjoy

Have we got final numbers for Brula?

festivevillas · 10/11/2006 15:40

Hi Fox, I ended up going to Space NK in my lunch hour and purchasing not only swanky new eye make-up remover but eyeshadow, brush plus blusher - AND managed to get a wee makeover at the same time! Am going to book myself in for another (free) makeover soon, it is FAB and great if you need a lift! The only drawback is the temptation to purchase afterwards (read: "go crazy")....

MrsBojangles · 10/11/2006 16:08

oxo I so understand your frustration re part-time jobs. So if anybody finds one make that 2 please LOL

Went to an agency today in Richmond of all places! Very nice and helpful and they do get in the odd part-time job... and Gema, the woman I spoke to was more concerned that I get out of the job what I want then just filling the post VERY rare these days!

hoxohoxohoxo · 10/11/2006 17:31

MrsBo: thanks for the link. I'm looking for something in property which is my field (no pun intended!). And I don't want to be an estate agent as I'm neither blond nor skinny (nor have I had a lobotomy).

harktheheraldfoxessing · 10/11/2006 17:50

Hoxy - ave you considered social housing or shared ownership? That's property and the public sector have good terms & conditions??

harktheheraldfoxessing · 10/11/2006 17:52

Someting weird has happend to my PC - all the key words in everyone's posts have turned to links! Anyone know how to get rid of this annoying feature?? Its slowing all my MNing down

hoxohoxohoxo · 10/11/2006 18:09

Foxy: I have been looking. I ahve an interview with Richmond Cl on Tue _ so all fingers crossed

sfxmum · 10/11/2006 21:02

oxo - sorry about the interview it is annoying to say the least, but it will come.

pudding - those are great prices think will give your mate a call soon, thanks

am almost glad i had decided not to go to the dinner, turns out dh had to stay extra late and has just come home, imagine how peeved i would be if i had my glad rags on

off to open a bottle

harktheheraldfoxessing · 11/11/2006 09:58

Hoxy - good luck on Tuesday. Have you also looked at:

Hounslow and Ealing Councils, even maybe Hillingdon and Wandsworth?

Also Catalyst Housing Group, Notting Hill Housing Group, Dominion HG, Thames Valley HA and Richmond Housing Partnership - all within 25-30 mins travel?

Presumably you get the Guardian Weds - you seem to have sought out lots of opportunities already. Have you tried the Regenet website?

mellowandreadyforchristmas · 11/11/2006 10:05

Good luck with your interviews, oxo. By the number of job interviews you had, it sounds like your skills are much in demand and it's only a matter of time before you find the right job.

Would it be an option for you to do flexi-time on a full time job? I had an ex-colleague with a young child who accepted a job and then asked to work 2 to 3 days a week from home. They agreed as they had already said no to the other candidates. Mind you, this was a dotcom company where the norm was 9 to 7 in the office.

Paddlechick666 · 11/11/2006 11:04

morning all

just had the most shocking road rage incident. was waiting for green filter at right turn on yellow junction box.

guy behind starts honking and gesticulating and i am so intimidated that i edge into the box.

next thing, he's out of his car and coming towards me spitting rage.

man I went bonkers! jumped out of my car, faced off to him and started shouting about filters and junction boxes.

and he takes a step forwards and calls me all sorts of nasty names - and I flippin stuck my face even further forward and asked if he wanted me to call the police!

by this time he'd got back in his car and swerved around mine and cut across the traffic to get where he wanted to go - all the while calling me all the names under the sun.

can't believe how stupid and irresponsible i have just been. had dd in the car too.

wish dh had been there...............

i have a very low opinion of myself right now

2quokkasandaparetree · 11/11/2006 12:21

sounds quite scarey PC, but I would advice next time this happens (and hopefully it wont). STAY IN YOUR CAR! It's not worth the risk or stress to get involved with an idiot like that. Next time the angrier he/she gets just smile back and stay calm for dd sake and your yours. Pre dc I would have got involved but not now, its just not worth it but I think you realise that now, ok lecture over enjoy the rest of your weekend!

hoxohoxohoxo · 11/11/2006 12:22

PC: wow. Put it down to a v bad morning, and then FORGET it. The more you rehash it in yr mind, the more you'll exaggerate it and only make it worse.

I have found that with the kids in the car I become protective scarey monster. So anyone threatening them really get my goat.

Just take it easy

hoxohoxohoxo · 11/11/2006 12:56

FREE EVENINGS OUT

Do you guys get the invitations to TV recordings? I get these all the time as I used to go to recordings at South Bank when I ahd a life.

They record shows at Teddington. Now it's Nicholas Lyndhurst and Celia Imrie's new comedy.

I've got details if anyone is interested. They are free. There's usually a good warm up act, followed by the recording. And Teddington studios are next to a couple of cracking (and cheap) pubs.

so - cheap night out, seeing the stars
Free is usually a good price with me.
