about dh

about daniel but just for you
Just found out DC is playing Lord Asriel in the Dark Materials films!

Paddlechick666 · 21/11/2006 22:31

phwoar! thanks for that as i'm just on my way to bed LOL.

i can't wait for that movie. i went to the stage version early last year and it was brilliant.

love the books - would have them on my list but they're already lent!

lemonaid · 21/11/2006 22:53

I went to the stage version too - three days and two days before going into labour with DS (was determined to see it and those were the only dates we could get tickets)

Paddlechick666 · 22/11/2006 07:35

wow, that's impressive.

we did part 1 one saturday afternoon and part 2 the following week and i struggled to sit still for 3 hours and I wasn't pg!!

wasn't it amazing tho? i really wondered how they were going to work the daemons but it was great.

pudding77 · 22/11/2006 07:41

I saw the stage show as well - it was so good. My friend and I were sat on the first row of the balconey and you know when they have the ghosts walking through the audience? Well, one of them came along our row but tripped over our wine glasses

sfxmum · 22/11/2006 08:28

i am so sorry i missed the stage version, i loved the books but i am a tad worried about the film version, a lot of the reports of pre prosuction are troubling. they should get Guillermo Del Toro as dorector that would inspire confidence
(must pop over to imdb and check)
just realised i have not been to the movies since before dd was born

paddleabout dh so draining

sfxmum · 22/11/2006 08:34

oh dear not sure about Nicole she irritates me

have a look at this

pudding77 · 22/11/2006 09:07

Where's Lee Scoresby? He's one of my favourite characters

Paddlechick666 · 22/11/2006 09:56

it says further down that lee is going to be played by nathan fillion but no idea who he is.

am somewhat worried about Nicole too - rather feel she'll give the whole thing a Cruella de Ville feel.

i really hope they do it well, wonder if they'll skip the entire animals on wheels world again.

i never saw Capt Correlli the movie because the book was just so wonderful - feel a bit the same about this.

sfx, yep very draining. still no word altho i texted him last night and said i needed to know as need to organise childcare. getting now..........

pudding77 · 22/11/2006 10:16

Nathan Fillion - he's been in quite a few things but mainly as the captain in Firefly & Serenity

Paddlechick666 · 22/11/2006 10:23

hmmm, okay he'll do I suppose.........

sfxmum · 22/11/2006 10:25

oh Nathan yum he is lovely

i see that the bond girl made it to the cast too.
but who would be the ideal Mrs. Coulter?

i am looking forward to tonight mostly because one of the special guests was my mums favourite singer. she died with cancer and toward the end she used to take some solace from listening to him. needless to say we could not listen to him for years.
might get emotional with sisters tonight. sorry about the melodrama, we southern europeans are rather partial to ittherapy therapy

harktheheraldfoxessing · 22/11/2006 10:30

I don't know who all these young men are, who you are discussing, but am sure I am old enough to be their mother!

pudding77 · 22/11/2006 10:39

Mrs Coulter is quite a hard one. I think NK has got the right kind of looks but not the right personality iyswim

Paddlechick666 · 22/11/2006 10:48

i doubt that Foxie - you're only old enough to be the foxcubs' mama.

sfx, there's a question on the ideal Mrs Coulter. Dare I suggest Emma Thomson altho she may not be sinister enough.....

trying to think of someone more glamorous, British and sinister now who also has a willowy figure with an hourglass waist and long legs.

dunno why but this image really works for me!

Paddlechick666 · 22/11/2006 10:50

ps sfx, hope you have a great time tonight. i expect it will be a bit emotional but that can be a good thing.

sfxmum · 22/11/2006 10:50

one of the Redgrave girls? Joely? maybe not right personality

lemonaid · 22/11/2006 11:57

New pics of Junior up!

Uwilalalalalala · 22/11/2006 12:06

Stephym78 · 22/11/2006 13:06

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me crashing this thread - SFX pointed me in this direction! I'm new to this site & to motherhood ;) My DD is 11 weeks old, and we're near Ealing.

Uwilalalalalala · 22/11/2006 13:07

Welcome

harktheheraldfoxessing · 22/11/2006 13:36

Bobooie · 22/11/2006 15:33

Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind another new Mum joining the conversation. I have a 5wks old DS and we're based in Isleworth. Are there any clubs or meet-ups in the local area that I could come along to?
