mrsb that is so cute!
And yes shocking how little time you have with two, you spend most of your time running around trying to stay on top of stuff! Off to get dd2 up from her nap - have so enjoyed the silence, ho hum!

i hate it when that happens....bloody computers

mellowandreadyforchristmas · 14/11/2006 16:02

Just came back from lunch with a friend from work. She's jetting off to Australia for Christmas and New Year with her brood.

As far as bf, I'm definitely looking to bf dd till she's 2 unless there's extenuating circumstances. I agree sfx, the programme makes out that extended bf is weird even though it purports to support bf.

I got annoyed when the narrator said that only long-haired hippies and middle-class middle-aged women bf.

Me, I'm a young funky earth mother.

lemonaid · 14/11/2006 16:13

Am wondering on their definition of "middle-aged", too... I mean, unless you start it as a category with a pretty young lower age limit then, for reasons of basic biology, you'd expect to have relatively few middle-aged women breastfeeding. Maybe I'm actually middle-aged, oh dear...

hoxohoxohoxo · 14/11/2006 17:55

I think if you remember the clangers Peters and Lee and Bay City Rollers, you are middle aged.
I'm doomed

Paddlechick666 · 14/11/2006 18:05

me too doomed!

i am a middle aged toddler feeding weirdo!

Uwilalalalalala · 14/11/2006 18:11

I am NOT middle aged. I am NOT middle aged. I am NOT middle aged. I am NOT in denial... oops I mean middle aged.

I can't believe it's fricken 18:10, I'm still at work and I have loads more to do that I haven't done... so will have to send grovelling e-mail explaining that I aint doing it tonight.

hoxohoxohoxo · 14/11/2006 18:15

Or a not so grovelling one saying 'eff off - I'm only human. And PLEASE make allowances for my advancing years....'
he he he

Uwilalalalalala · 14/11/2006 18:23

Nah... I blamed it on the pesky users.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 14/11/2006 18:49

I'm a middle aged, Clanger loving, middle class, hippy, BFing, veggie Mum and the rest of the world can feck off!!

MrsChristmasboo · 14/11/2006 19:13

So what age is considered middle age these days? Just so i know how long i've got to carry on partying and having late nights....
Oh no, thats not me, thats dh....

I already feel like an old hag as it is and i'm only 29!

And as far as the clean car dirty car thing goes, i must be very low class or the Queen

harktheheraldfoxessing · 14/11/2006 19:18

Mrs Boo - yeah me too - a few dog hairs and mouldy biscuits help too I think

sfxmum · 14/11/2006 19:22

middle age is OK by me if that is what i am supposed to be, does it mean i can freely slag off stupid teen music?the rubbish! not like in my day

lemonaid · 14/11/2006 19:23

I remember the Clangers... hmm. [brightly] Maybe I'm just a bit middle-aged.

hoxohoxohoxo · 14/11/2006 19:42

Lemonaid: it's all or nothing I'm afraid. Welcome to the club

MrsBojangles · 14/11/2006 20:08

I'm middle aged and proud of it! I remember the BeeGee's, Adam Ant, Cindy Lauper, the 60's revival, the 80's, Saturday Night Fever... wooohay! But who on earth are the Clangers?

pudding77 · 14/11/2006 20:20

Don't remember the clangers, but do remember button moon? Am I not middle aged yet then?

PC - I got your message, maybe we'll try again next week!

sfxmum · 14/11/2006 20:39

i am reliably informed that the clangers were an ace tv showsoupdragon and what not

harktheheraldfoxessing · 14/11/2006 20:56

Soupdragon was an absolute GOD

Bet none of you remember Dark Side of the Moon though

I remember lying on the floor of my Polish friend Anna's bedroom, alongside her, with our eyes closed and a speaker each of us, singing along to Shine on you Crazy Diamond

She's a very respectable solicitor now

pudding77 · 14/11/2006 21:01

Anyone remember Chocky?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 14/11/2006 21:03

Puds - was he in Pink Floyd?

Paddlechick666 · 14/11/2006 21:04

sorry Pud but button moon just doesn't cut it next to the clangers.........

soup dragon......... brilliant!

i remember Dark Side of the Moon, seminal stuff. i'm only a few short years behind ya Foxie!!

i quite like today's music as well, altho i can leave the whole rap thing except i seem to be developing a bit of a liking for eminem (sp?)

if you want a juvenile giggle to keep you young listen to Radio1 drivetime show 4-7pm Scot Mills. Cracks me up!
