I saw your post on the Durham/Darlington thread. It's a bit far for me to get to Durham as well, though I do drive. Do you fancy arranging a meet up in Northallerton some time soon? If so, I'll start a thread to see if there are any others in the area. I have a baby son who's 14 weeks old and I don't know any other mums in the area as yet.

ooooh not far away down in Harrogate!! Got DTs aged nearly 2 and no. 3 due in a matter of weeks!! Was just looking at houses on the net actually as would like to move somewhere a bit more countrified and was thinking of the environs of Northallerton! Let us know if you arrange a meet up and we could come north!

twinklemegan · 04/11/2006 11:13

Bumping this one!

Hi, I found you lol!
How cool, another mumsnetter in Northallerton.
Would deffo be up for a meetup. I dont know if you read my posts further down but I have a dd who has just turned 3 and ds is 10 weeks.

Whereabouts are you TM? We're in Romanby.

HM, Northallerton is fab but having said that Harrogate is gorgeous.

I'm good most days tbh. The only commitment we have atm is dd goes to preschool mon and tues mornings.

harrogatemum · 06/11/2006 13:30

well let us know if you ever fancy a meetup - I have DTs aged nearly 2 and another due in a matter of weeks so not sure when I will be out and about but always looking for excuses to get out of the house!

bettythebuilder · 06/11/2006 13:58

Count me in for a meet up! (I'm in Harrogate, too... have transport, and can travel!)

harrogatemum · 06/11/2006 14:02

just realised I repeated myself.....I am becoming boring.

Helloooo betty, wheres my email re business awards? (sorry for hijacking thread)

YellowFeathers · 06/11/2006 14:10

Wow HM and your still up for going out and about! When are you due?

harrogatemum · 06/11/2006 14:17

due 24th November but think it will be born this weekend as its not playing ball and wont put its head down so they may admit me when I go to antenatal on Thursday. Baby has lots of room to move as I have had twins before (nice image!).

YellowFeathers · 06/11/2006 14:46

lol!
Oh good luck with it all anyway.

I'll keep an eye out for birth announcements and we can arrange a meet up when your up on your feet.

Tm, where would you say is best to meet?

twinklemegan · 06/11/2006 15:24

Good luck Harrogatemum!! Sorry I didn't reply to your post sooner. Would be lovely to meet you and your two little ones when you're out and about again.

Hi Yellowfeathers - we meet at last! I'm at the other end of N'ton in Brompton.

I've always found Barkers restaurant OK with baby. Haven't tried many other places since being plus one - have you any other ideas? I'm away at my mum and dad's for the rest of this week but would be up for meeting up any time after that. I'll post a new thread to try to attract any others.

OP posts:
YellowFeathers · 06/11/2006 15:55

Ah yes Brompton, near the swimming pool?
Have been in Barkers once since having ds but just in the cafe downstairs.
I have tried the one actually called Cafe at the bottom end of the high street but that was when I just had dd. Have you been in? They have lovely food, all fresh homemade stuff.
There is also Costa coffee isnt there.

I think thats pretty much it really. Unless we dare go into Lewis and Coopers lol!

twinklemegan · 12/11/2006 09:23

Hi folks, I'm back from my M & D's now. Yes, YF, it's up past the swimming pool - I'm near the church. There haven't been any replies to my other thread so I guess it would just be us four (or three if harrogatemum isn't feeling up to it now), but I'll bump it to make sure. So any of those places you mention would probably be OK - I don't think L&C would appreciate us though! I haven't been into Cafe but it sounds nice - should we try there?? (Is there baby changing BTW?). Bettythebuilder, you can park in Tesco carpark, which is pretty close, for a couple of hours. What do you think? And when would be convenient? I'm around all this week.

OP posts:
SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 13/11/2006 12:35

Hi!
Not entirely sure if the cafe have baby changing. I went in before i had ds and dd is toilet trained.
There is Barkers.
I cant do this week but i'm good to go next week.
I think BTB is at centre parcs this week and HM, are you up for it still or are you shattered?

lulumama · 13/11/2006 12:36
SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 13/11/2006 12:37

ahh good, i did this am. i was just hoping you'd know who i was lol.
Thanks

twinklemegan · 14/11/2006 10:08

Right, I've found the list of baby friendly cafe's that I got at one of my antenatal classes. It says The Cafe has got baby changing and will warm bottles etc. so I reckon we should try there if you're all agreed. I'm free Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week and I think all the following week. How about you two, BTB and HM?

OP posts:
SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 14/11/2006 14:53

Great. I had that list too but couldn't remember what I did with it.
The Cafe is fine by me. The only thing is that dd is at pre-school Monday and Tuesday mornings from 9:15 till 11:45 and on Monday afternoon I'm tied, then Wednesday I've got clinic in the morning.
So really I can only do Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
Sorry if thats a pain. What times good for you?
Should we meet outside first?

twinklemegan · 14/11/2006 16:18

Either of those days is fine with me. We should probably avoid lunchtimes so shall we say Tues or Wed pm, around 2.30ish, and see which is better for the other two if they're still up for it. It'd be a good idea to meet outside first wouldn't it - saves you sitting around when I'm late

OP posts:
SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 14/11/2006 16:47

Well thats totally fine with me.
Like I mentioned earlier, I think BTB is at Centre Parcs now for 2 weeks. If not its next week.
I'll leave a message for HM on her ante-natal thread to catch her.

Anyway.... late!!!

WriggleJiggle · 15/11/2006 00:52

Not fair, not fair, not fair. I USED to live near N'Allerton, back in the days when there were no MN N'Allerton meetups. Will be up visiting again in the next week or so, but not when you have your meet up.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 15/11/2006 08:24

lol WriggleJiggle.
Well its next week so if your here your more than welcome to join us.
Where abouts are you now?

twinklemegan · 15/11/2006 15:43

Ditto to that WriggleJiggle - you're more than welcome. Yellow - have you heard anything from harrogatemum? I wonder if she was admitted in the end. Didn't realise Bettythebuilder was away for two weeks - if she's not around do you still want to meet up just the two of us (plus Wriggle if she can make it) or shall we wait till Betty's back?

OP posts:
SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 15/11/2006 15:56

I'm easy either way.
I left a message for HM on her ante natal thread. She posted yesterday but there were that many posts after mine that I dont think she noticed.

I'm happy to meet up next week just us two if you are or we can wait till BTB is back.
Up to you!

harrogatemum · 15/11/2006 16:09

helloooo I am here - just CAT'ed you SFYFeathers...just got twinkles hijack on the multiples thread.

I should be ok for next week as long as have not had baby/in labour! What day are you meeting and where? I can get in touch with Betty - I know her in real life (shes a freak - ha ha only joking).

And more to the point - what do you look like, how old are you and your children - this would make it easier to spot you....I will either be not there or the tall pregnant one who cant fasten up her coat.
