Well, I missed the last one in Dulwich Park because of DDs (late) arrival. She's now almost 5 months so I think we are more than overdue for another one!

Any suggestion or ideas would be welcome, I would suggest waiting until after the Easter holidays as everyone seems to be busy over that time. So maybe late April/early May - revisit the park, initial meetup in the cafe, as an opening suggestion?

I'm easy with either week days or weekends, but would prefer lunchtime/early afternoons midweek as I have a 'nursery run'.

Anyone with me?

no sorry, blu, i didn't mean your ds's peeing habits were odd, i meant i hadn't expressed myself well in previous post about having done training for nearly a week but still feeling a tad nervous about outings...

Toots · 29/04/2004 21:50

BK I'll be on slight tenterhooks about this myself withdd, only very recently trained and with absurd hit rate of accidents today! HTH

motherinferior · 30/04/2004 09:52

Please come with all your incontinent children, go on, go on.

BBC weather forecast says sun and up to 20 degrees on Sunday.

bossykate · 30/04/2004 10:37

mi, that's a change on the weather outlook from yesterday! the link i posted below automatically updates - hurrah.

tigermoth · 30/04/2004 12:58

BK,do hope you can make it. If it's going be that warm and sunny after a day of rain, you'd probably be taking your ds outside anyway, wouldn't you?

Looking forward to seeing you all. Although I like the idea of sitting on the grass, I'll be bringing something waterproof to sit on.

lydialemon · 30/04/2004 13:59

Please, please be sunny! It will still be wet though. I have a nice blue tarpuline (sp?) in the back of the car so I will bring that out - how much stuff can you load onto a Graco pushchair?! I'll be the flustered looking one, more than likely BFing on the grass, yelling at maniac kids. There is a picture of them on the photo album thread if that helps!

Sounds sunny to me - and those of us with incontinent toddlers will be sure to bring our own rugs!
Hurray!

Toots · 30/04/2004 20:57

All manner of damp grass ahoy! I too will bring some kind of tarp thang.

beccaboo · 30/04/2004 22:56

Hello all

I'm a bit late in joining in, but can I come along on Sunday too and bring toddler? I'm a Forest Hill-er too, and it would be great to meet some like-minded neighbours.

lydialemon · 01/05/2004 11:07

Welcome Beccaboo, the more the wetter, I mean merrier.

The forecast still looks good, even if it is grey outside now. I would suggest that we still meet in the park. I've just remembered that there is more than one set of tennis courts , but we're talking about the ones in the middle near the cafe - so find that first!. If it is actively raining we'll meet in the cafe itself, and then sort out moving on to Hornimanns, as I'm not sure everyone knows where that is. Everyone happy with this?

Hopefully I'll see you all tomorrow then!

Oh yes, BB, please come, I haven't moved very far away from F Hill and always delighted to meet neighbours.

motherinferior · 01/05/2004 14:33

although I've realised we have no plastic sheeting since I - ahem - gave birth onto it.

Dd1 greatly looking forward to Pickernick too.

motherinferior · 01/05/2004 14:34

Oh, and I'll be the short red-haired one with small curly blonde making Loud Conversation, plus beaming baby.

serenequeen · 01/05/2004 18:20

hi

this is bk, i've changed my name.

i'm afraid we won't be able to make it tomorrow after all. nothing to do with potty training - ds isn't very well, has had a temp. most of the day and i don't want to risk bringing him out tomorrow, especially as it seems he is now developing a rash.

we have also had to cancel my postponed birhday meal out tonight

actually (god forgive me as my mother would say) it has actually been very quiet and peaceful most of the day.

tigermoth · 01/05/2004 18:38

sorry to hear that, serene, and hope you enjoy your birthday evening anyway.

Are any older children coming tomorrow? I've lost count.

serenequeen · 02/05/2004 08:53

have a lovely time every one!

rash is worse today, so we will be going to the doctor/hospital with the monkey.

it's looking very sunny!

lydialemon · 02/05/2004 09:04

Hope DS feels better soon serenequeen

We'll see you next time.

There's sun outside. It's sunny. Don't think I'll risk shorts though

See you later, everyone.

tigermoth · 02/05/2004 09:56

The forecast looks good for the day. I've taken note where you will be. I'm aiming to get to the park earlier because my sons want to hire out a wheeled contraption for an hour. We'll do this first but will come up to say hello if you are all gathering. If I don't find you, I'll head for the cafe. If you see a woman with two boys aged 10 and 4 on wheels, it's probably me!

beccaboo · 02/05/2004 10:32

See you all there about 12-ish - looking forward to it. Roll on the sunshine!

tigermoth · 02/05/2004 19:01

thanks for a lovely afternoon everyone. Hope to see you again soon!

beccaboo · 02/05/2004 19:23

Ditto, I really enjoyed meeting everyone, let's do it again. And next time, I'll try to remember to put sunscreen on myself as well as ds, my arms are quite burnt! Lydialemon, please say thanks to your MIL for those amazing lamb snacks, yum.

motherinferior · 03/05/2004 14:38

I had a lovely time, can we meet again soon? And how very clever of us to pick yesterday not today!

Oh, sorry Batters and BK, we missed you. Thank you all, I had a lovely time (inbetween retrieving S from the 'Gruffalo Woods), would love to meet up again, and thanks to all those who managed much better picnic catering than I did!
