Sorry we didn't make it on saturday. We were totally put off by the torrential rain and decided to stay in and play with lego instead (very rock and roll!!)

Hope the meet up went well Senna1

Hello AttilaTheHan,
The weather was awful last saturday. 8 of us turned up, a few of the mums e-mailed me to say they couldn't make it, but it was really good. How are you? It's my little girls 1st birthday on friday so I'm just wrapping up all her presents.

Hi everyone.
We went to cheeky monkeys today - thanks for the recommendation. DS loved it and screamed the place down when we had to put him in a headlock to get him to leave
I'm thinking of going down there on fridays when they have a music session. Anyone else?

squatchette · 27/09/2006 19:32

Thanks senna/mandy for the invite we'll do our best to get there.Had a terrible week though childrens aunty was killed in a road accident and uncle injured too.My sisters father in law died of cancer ,then to top it all i found out my uncle who lives in spain and had skin cancer has now got it in his liver and is really poorly,They say bad things come in threes and that has certainly been the case for us this week,i'm scared to answer the phone now.
That's why i've been a bit busy anyway you can imagine sorry if i sound like a right whinger just felt i wanted to tell someone offload in a way i suppose it's easier to do to a bunch of strangers!
On a lighter note our kitchen is almost finished after months of work and i'm ready to pick a car this wkend if we get time!I can't wait to get mobile the girls are getting big for their double buggy and the bus and shopping are a nightmare honestly i nearly had a nervous breakdown in Sainsburys last night .The babes where being monsters and i felt like everyone was staring at me thinking bad mother. The minute we got home though they both fell asleep so perhaps they were overtired.
Well i've rambled on as i always do so once again thanks for the invite and i hope we can make it x

I'm so sorry to hear about your auntie, your sisters father in law and your uncle, your family must be going through a terrible time at the moment. We are also decorating our house at the moment, the house looks like a building site haha!
Take care Sarah and hopefully speak to you soon

Hi

I'm new to this site but I live in Leyland and it's nice to know there are some other members nearby.

I have two children - Isabella is 5 and Benedict is 9 months. I might be inteerested in a future meet up if there is one - as long as you're not all scary yummy mummies!

Juliet

SennaF1 · 15/10/2006 11:02

Hi Juliet,
How are you and your 2 children? I live in Fulwood, Preston and have a 13 month old daughter called Senna. The next meet-up is at The Phantom Winger, Garstang Road, Fulwood at lunch time on saturday the 4th of November. I hope that you can make it

Love Mandy and Senna

Hi Juliet

I also live in Leyland :-)
I am off work this week and will at some point be taking my little boy to Buddy's in leyland if you fancy meeting there sometime for a natter?

James is 2 and goes to First Footsteps Nursery on Fox Lane. I am definatley not a yummy mummy (I wish!) - bit tricky trying to look glam when you are 14weeks pregnant and feeling sick! lol

Anyway - let me know if you fancy it

juliet2005 · 16/10/2006 16:57

Hi Pauline

I keep walking past First Footsteps on the school run and wondering what it would be like for my baby.

I'd love to meet up at Buddies - haven't tried it with Ben yet but now he's crawling it might be fun (I think!!)

Thursdays are usually good and so are Fridays.

How are you fixed?

Juliet

juliet2005 · 16/10/2006 16:59

Hi Mandy and Senna

I'll check my calendar for the next meet up. I know the place as we used to rent a house near Fulwood when we first moved up here.

Maybe see you then

Juliet

muminamini · 16/10/2006 20:30

Hi Juliet

Friday would be better for me as I am going to see a Friend in Haslingden on Thursday.

Name a time (as I have no other ties) and I will meet you there.

Do you know where it is? It's opposite the Commercial Vehicle Museum and is £3.50 per child ( may be less for a baby not sure). There is a good bit for small people to crawl about in and if you go before school is out it is not too busy (although if you want to go with your daughter after school I don't mind!)

First Footsteps have been brilliant for James - he started there when he was 1 year old (but they do have a baby room for younger). James loves all the nursery nurses there and he has come on in leaps and bounds since he started there. I have never had any concerns over the care he receives at all and would definatley recommend if you are thinking about it to give Maggie the manager a ring and she will give you a tour and tell you all about it.

Hi Pauline

Friday after about 11am is good for me - I have the school Harvest service at 9.45 - not sure what to expect!!!!

Juliet

juliet2005 · 17/10/2006 14:23

Hi Leahandevie

We used to rent in Fulwood. The best 2 groups I found were the one at the methodist church on lightfoot lane (Tuesday am) and at Cottam Community Centre on wednesday am. A friend has just moved to Fulwood Row so I'll ask her where she goes.

Hope you settle in soon

Juliet

RugbyWidow · 17/10/2006 21:16

Hi SennaF1 and all,
Good to read your posts. I was doing a search for a play group on a Monday (my day off) and found you. I live in Cottam and my baby is nine months old. The Cottam playgroup seems to be good but my mum takes the baby there instead of me!
Hope to meet some of you at the Phantom Winger on the 4th Nov.
Cheers,

SennaF1 · 18/10/2006 15:18

Hello Rugbywidow,
I do hope that you can make it to the next meet-up, there's about 10 of us that go so far, and all the children range from a few months old to 2 years old. I've been organising the meet-ups for about 5 months now and it's getting more and more popular, one of the girls joked the last time that soon we'll need a community hall haha!
LeahandEvie, you live just up the road from me, I live on Savick Road, off Blackbull Lane, next to Fulwood and Cadley Primary School
