Anybody who lives in Preston, Lancashire. I'm from Scotland originally but I've been living in Preston for just over 8 years. I'm married with a little girl who will be 1 years old next month.

Hello, thank you so much for your message and congratulations on being pregnant again. How are you feeling? I live in Fulwood, Preston so not too far from you. I've started organising meet-ups on the 1st saturday of every month at The Phantom Winger, Garstang Road, Fulwood if you fancy coming along and meeting some mums and babies/toddlers? If you just fancy a chat, then please just leave a message

Im from near Blackpool and often come up to Preston as we have friends who live in Longridge.
If you fancy a day out in Blackpool some time, i would love to meet up with you all.

SennaF1 · 14/08/2006 07:19

Hello Donbean,
I would love to come and visit you in Blackpool one day, although it's kind of difficult as I work monday-driday full-time. I organise a mum and baby/toddler group on the 1st saturday in every month in Preston if you ever feel like coming along?
Keep in touch Donbean and muminamini

Hello Donbean and SennaF1

Ohh how nice to have had replies :-)

The Mum and toddler group sounds great, I shall try and make it to your next one in September.

Thanks for the Congrats - I am feeling ok - some nausea but manageable but a strange feeling like my legs belong to another person!

Still can't actually beleive I am pregnant as it is so early on but am excited as well as worried sick!

Having a nice morning - I normally work on a Monday morning (I am a Drs receptionist) but I have swapped to this afternoon adn my son is at nursery so I have had a relaxing morning reading Pregnancy and Baby and looking on the internet for all things pregnancy related. mega chuffed at the extension to maternity leave - I get 9 months off instead of 6 - HURRAY!!!

SennaF1 do you ever go to Cheeky Monkeys Play Centre in Bamber Bridge?

northender · 14/08/2006 22:00

I'm in Fulwood and a footie fan, hence the name! I've come across a few others from Preston area on MN.

Racers · 14/08/2006 22:10

Hi, I'm in Lancaster and could make it down to Phantom Winger some time (Thursdays or Fridays). DD is 14m. Any thoughts as to when you might want to attempt a meet up? (though be warned the last one I tried, only two of us turned up -- though we had a nice time!)

SennaF1 · 14/08/2006 22:12

Hello muminamini and northender

muminamini, I've never been to Cheeky Monkeys but I've heard from some friends that it's a great place to go. I hope that you can make it to the september meet-up at The Phantom Winger. There's 8 of us so far that meet up and it's a great laugh.

Northender, I would never have guessed you're a footie fan LOL, my husband is a big Preston North End Fan. If you fancy meeting myself and some other mums at the beginning of September, please let me know? Where abouts in Fulwood do you live? I live just off Blackbull Lane.

Love Mandy

Hello Racers,
The meet-up would be on the 1st saturday of every month. There's 8 of us that meet-up so far and we've got 1 mum who also lives in Lancaster. I've organised 4 so far and I've been lucky to meet some lovely mums. My little girl will be a year old on the 8th of September.

Keep in touch

Oh I see, I got mixed up, sorry - Phantom Winger meet up is a Saturday... Well I keep weekends for DH and family and I don't think he'd be up for a meetup, but maybe one time when he's working!

SennaF1 · 15/08/2006 06:56

Hi Racers,
I would love to do a meet-up during the week, but I work full-time (41 hours a week) so the only chance that myself and some of the other girls get to meet-up is at the week-end. What's your daughters name? My little girl is called Senna.

OP posts:
muminamini · 15/08/2006 08:41

Hi Mandy and Northender!

Gosh there will be millions of us before we know it!

Can heartily recommend Cheeky Monkeys...will try and get along to the next Phantom Winger meet up if I can, I sometimes work Saturday mornings - depends on the rota.

Don't know if I said before but my name is Pauline and my son is called James.

I'm not really into footie but my husband (and James of course are mad Man City fans).

It's my day off today - thank goodness cos I feel vile this morning...think I'm starting with a cold as well as nausea - yippeeee

Have a good day ladies
x

muminamini · 15/08/2006 08:42

Hi Racers too - sorry - put it down to pregnancy hormones...x

peanutbutter · 15/08/2006 08:58

hello all - don't know how i missed this thread. i'm in bamber bridge, just outside preston.

Racers - i used to live in morecambe/lancaster. i saw that lancaster meet up in williamsons park but can't remember why i couldn't get there. I'd definitely be on for another meet up whether in lancaster or preston. i just work the first part of the week.

Donbean · 15/08/2006 19:02

Can any one tell me where the phantom whinger is please?

SennaF1 · 16/08/2006 07:36

Hello again muminamini, peanut butter and donbean, how are we all? I'm just getting ready for work so I thought I would say hello before I go.
Just to let you know that The Phantom Winger is on the M6/M55 Junction at Broughton Roundabout, hope this helps. I hope that you can all make it to the meet-up on the 2nd of September. there are quite a few mums and their children coming along so please don't be scared of meeting new people. It's a fun way of meeting new people

Hi everyone, unfortunately I can't make the 2nd Sept as it's ds' birthday although if I don't hurry up and get a party sorted then we might end up at the winger! I live about 100 yards from the Black Bull Senna. Which end of Black Bull Lane are you? I was gutted about the Williamson Park meet up. It was going to be my first ever mn meet up but then I realised I was on a course that day so couldn't make it. Am considering going to London for the November meet up if anyone else is interested in travelling down together not sure I'm brave enough to go on my own!

SennaF1 · 16/08/2006 20:51

Hi Northender,
I live just before the roundabout before you turn to go down Cadley Causeway, do you know where I am? It's only a 10/15 minute walk to The Black Bull Pub. We'll have to meet up for a coffee sometime? My little girl is called Senna and she will be 1 years old on the 8th of September. How old will your son be Northender?

Mandy

peanutbutter · 17/08/2006 09:41

snap! it's also my ds birthday - actually on the friday but we're having a little party on the 2nd.

SennaF1 · 18/08/2006 21:55

Hi everyone, have we all had a good week? I've been so busy at work this week, thank goodness it's the week-end. I can relax and spend time with my little girl.

Hi all,
I'm really glad there's some mners in preston. We live just outside Bamber Bridge (moved here in June)and haven't found Cheeky monkeys yet? where abouts is it?
Also hope to come to a meet up soon.

muminamini · 26/08/2006 10:13

Hi Atilla -

I'm rubbish at directions but if you travel through Bamber Bridge - over the level crossing and keep going past all the shops you will come to a mini roundabout and there is a big sign on a building which says For Busy Bee-s Day Nursery turn right. Turn right at this round about and you will go past the Dairy on your Left. On the right hand side is an indutrial estate - turn into that and follow the road until you see the big Cheeky Monkeys sign. Hope that gets you there - can thoroughly recommend it.

Under 1 - free
and 1 - 3 is about £3.50 plus a free drink and biscuit I think.

In the week they do lots of different activities and things - at the weekend it's just a big free for all :-)
It has a seperate bit for the under ones tho - stops them getting trampled he he.

Hope everyone is well
x

SennaF1 · 27/08/2006 07:17

Hello everyone,
Muminamini, a friend of mine talks about Cheeky Monkeys a lot, I've never been but I'll have to go and check it out. Hello ATTILATHEHAN, how are you? You say that you've just moved to Bamber Bridge in June, how are you finding it so far? I hope you're settling in okay.
Remember, if anyone wants to meet some new mums and babies/toddlers, come along to The Phantom Winger, Garstang Road, Fulwood next saturday between 12pm and 12:30pm as a few of us meet up for lunch and a chat with our little ones

Love Mandy

Hi SennaF1 and everyone else,
We're settling in fine thanks. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of parent and toddler groups at the end of the week in this area though so am feeling a bit lonely... (sob!!)
Apart from Cheeky monkeys has anyone got any other recommendations?

SennaF1 · 31/08/2006 06:18
