Thought I'd be premature and create this thread now.

Currently have this meet up planned:

Never been so stressed in all my life. I don't like my mortgage advisor, estate agents are taking the piss. I don't want a house anymore, I just want a box.

house buying is evil. I never want to do it ever again. except I wouldn't mind a bigger house .

Worth it though.

It is an awful experience. But it is a bit like childbirth - you'll forget the bad bits once it is over and move house again / have more children / or even do both at the same time

YES! Need to have the party whilst the old carpets are down. No one is coming to visit once the new carpets are in

Old lady house?

Looks fab, lovely sized rooms and not too much to do apart from change the carpets.

Yus! She died in February I think (not in the house! I checked!)

We viewed one once where I am sure the person must have died in the house. Recently too. There were dirty sheets bundled up with suspicious stains on on a bed and other stuff. Urgh. We did not but that house!

I must lack emotion be well hard because that sort of thing doesn't bother me. I think the lady who owned this house before us died here. And dh's grandparents died in our old house. But I had babies born in each house so that kind of cancels it out in my head!

In fact Dd was born on the exact spot her great grandmother died.

It wasn't so much the passing away in the house as the sheets. Sheets that look like bodily fluids have leaked all over them are not nice. And I've done a stint in ICCU. Including doing not nice things to dead bodies.

I'm just a big scaredy cat I'd be worried her ghost was hanging around or something...

By not nice I don't mean not nice to the bodies by the way, always nice and respectful to them. Jsut not nice for a student who is thinking "what the hell and I doing working here?"

Spiffy, that's rather nice about your DD and her great-grandmother - the continuity of it

But Eurghh to the sheets that paleontologist saw...sounds nasty! I'm with you Juney, I would feel a bit creeped out! Best of luck with getting the house!
